This is a Clevo/Sager made laptop. They used to make Alienware laptops before Dell bought the name, they also made the laptops for Medion and they are currently the ones that make the laptops for MSI,Gigabyte,Eluktronics and System76 to this day
And this is really easy to upgrade I don't know if the CPU is maxed out or not but this has a slot for another video card which is kind of amazing if you wanted to SLI
If memory serves me correctly, those were mid to high end modular and user upgradeable as long as you purchased the upgrades from Sager. They sold for $2500-$3000 to $5500-$6000 when the price for a solid gaming laptop was $1000-$1500. The particular model you have there I believe was considered very decent mid to high end.
Nice I even tested this in VR I played Half-Life Alex I don't remember the settings but it actually worked pretty good with the meta quest using steam link
Sager gaming computers have been around for a very long time, basically when Alienware and Falcon Northwest are too newbish, you go with Sager. The overbuilt and over powered nature of that one is not unexpected for the brand. Yeah, at $120 it is worth it, just for the experience of dealing with one. From now on you will know how a gaming laptop should be.
Cool laptop, not sure why they even included a battery though. My phone has a much smaller battery with more capacity. You can easily take off the thermal paste or thermal pad by taking it outside and spry a little brake cleaner on it.
@@rohon4972 Was it a 960 thats in it? I couldn't read it on the screen. It looked like 960 or 950. I bet you could upgrade that to something a bit nicer to match that cpu. I'm seeing quadro t2000's like 80 to 90 bucks on ebay. I think they about equal 1660 as far I can tell. That'd be a cheap upgrade, if its doable. Never had a laptop that could be upgraded. I've rebuilt batteries before. Its a good call to have someone else do it. Just know not all cells are created equal. You should ask about what he uses and possibly source your own for him to use. Counterfeit cells are everywhere. It can be hard to get legit cells, but rule of thumb if it says it has over 3500mah, its almost always fake. I'd go for some samsung 3500mah and pick a trustworthy source - no aliexpress or ebay.
Not sure why it won't let me reply. Yah get the pack rebuilt. Ask about what cells they use though or possibly source your own and have them use those. Samsung 3500mah is like the gold standard. It can be hard to find legit cells though so use a reputable source - no ebay or aliexpress. I saw quadro t2000 laptop gpu's on ebay for like 80 to 90 bucks, so might be a cheap upgrade. I've never had a laptop that could be upgraded though, so I dunno.
The little clothes I use are not toilet paper they look like toilet paper but they're made for cleaning eyeglasses and you use them with eyeglass cleaner since they have no chemicals inside them I probably got these two years ago and they box got smashed up so I put them in a ziplock and I use a 91% ibuprofen alcohol

Very interesting.
That laptop has very interesting geography.
If thermal pads are still sticky they're still good, but if not they need to change as well
Cool find. I like laptops that are accessible and can be upgraded. That could even be a desktop replacement for someone.

Yeah this laptop feels like a desktop as in upgrade ability
Those two jacks are for speakers by mic jack not Wi-Fi jack
cool thank you

You almost never find an old gaming laptop like this in decent shape. Is it a keeper?
And I contacted someone locally that builds like battery banks I'm going to try to see if he can actually put better cells in this battery for me
