Some SN95s were brought to Brazil in 1995/1995. I'm one of the lucky ones who got a Sapphire blue 1994 GT 5.0. Today it only has 23,000 miles on it. A car that gets better every day.
Sick of rusty fox bodies for 10k? Picked up a super clean 2000 gt 76k miles for 7k. Once you realize its 5 lug, breaks, and handles better than a fox you get over it quickly.
I've had 11 fox bodies over the years. I bought an 02 GT new and fell in love with the New Edge! I could care less about ever having another fox after having the New Edge. Hope to find another clean one some day since the EX got that one, lol!
I love my SN95. I can't keep up with my buddies when we cruise, but people still turn their heads seeing the little 302 thumper roll up. Thanks for giving the SN95 some love!
Yeah I know that's why I bought a 94 vert and a 95 GT coupe the 95 is still a work in progress but it looks great would love to see you guys at Ford take over 24 I just live south of you in north Alabama love your channel and Brew2l as well
They look good when done the right way like the orange one in the picture and dudes blue one. My first Mustang was a 97 moonlight blue v6. I ended up trading it for a 00 GT because I wanted a V8 and imo the new edge looked way better. Now I’m in an 06 GT.
I bought a new one in 1995. Still have today. I raced it for several years and just recently cut the cage out and I’m returning it to stock for my 13 year old daughter. Car has less than 43k original miles. I think it will be super cool for her to be able to drive to high school. Keep it up guys.
I love sn95 cars not as much as fox bodies but they had much more comfortable interiors and could be upgraded just as easily as a fox body... Damn, now I want one. Marketplace here I come!
I bought one 3 years ago for 2K. Found it on Craigslist. Was going to buy to swap everything into my Fox body. It was listed as having body damage. It was sitting in a storage unit for 20 years. I showed up expecting a POS. The car was immaculate, except for the hood and windshield. Hood wasn't completely lached and flipped up and smashed the windshield. It had 60K on the odometer and still had the new car smell. I fixed it and kept it. 98 cobra brilliant white 5 SPD car. One of the best cars I ever owned.
My mom is handing me down her 95 Rio red cobra all stock never been raced or beat on and the car has won many 1st place trophies with me detailing it always wanted a fox but can't afford one now so I'm taking it. Love the channel I watch it all the time and yes I come from a mustang family 😊
I love the SN95s. I bought my 94 GT in 1999 and still have today. It has a 342 stroker engine with a Procharger D1SC. It produces 600 hp to the wheel and it a blast to drive. I will never get rid of it. Love this video and thank you for giving the SNs some love!
Back in the day I was a letter writer to save the rear-wheel drive, V8 Mustang. I owned an '84 GT and '85 SVO. Since I have owned a '65, '91, and '14. Love my Pony cars.
The 94-95 Cobra to me was the best of both worlds. Old 5.0 upgrades and the best looking of the SN95. The 96-98 was nice in stock form but hard to work on and not a ton of upgrades unless you go with a power adder.
The 4v is not hard to work on and they're pretty reliable. They have all kinds of aftermarket parts for it. You don't need heads factory heads flow killer ecsp ported they make cams for them and you can do a Sullivan intake or a ported short runner stock style intake it's not hard to get over 400 rwhp with a 4v that's pretty good from 281 cubic inches so I wouldn't say not much can be done other than boost although that is a good option too especially if you drop coyote rods and forged pistons in it that's a 600-700 rwhp capable motor on the cheap the crank came forged from factory and the teksid block is the stoutest aluminum block ever put into a Ford product 4.6 wise anyways. It can make as much power with forged internals as a built sleeved coyote.
Due to ridiculous fox body costs, i picked up a 95 gt for $1000 from an old lady. It was abandoned for 10+ years. Bought it on the spot with no inspection. Found out it had a new 306 engine, gt40x heads, cobra crane rocker arms, b cam, and a host of other old school mods. Completely mechanically restored the car for less than a clapped out fox.
I had a ‘96 triple black Cobra convertible and it was cherry. That I think is one of Fords best sounding engines at least for its time and that’s a bold statement. DOHC sounded great all the way through the RPMs.
Completely restoring my 1994 Mustang GT. But it is getting a motor swap. Also getting air ride suspension to support the heavy power train going into it. These cars do not have the love yet but in dew time they will get the shine they have been missing.
When my dad finally put his two boys through 4 years of school he wasn't quite where he wanted to be to get that brand new Corvette however he got a phone call from a friend who I just got onto his used a 3 yr old 1995 but I believe was Pacific green Mustang GT convertible. 5 speed manual relatively loaded for 95 with a beautiful brown leather interior that match the top. The only thing that had been done to the car outside of the factory configuration was some flowmaster mufflers, pipes and headers. He drove that car all summer long everywhere he went taking my mom shotgun. 2 years after getting it he was diagnosed with cancer, 5 years after that he would pass. Having gotten into cars Late in high School I was working on a restoration project of an 85 RX7 I had to sell when does a few months into my marriage I found out we we're pregnant. I say we because I had to sell my car. After my dad had passed my mom gave the Mustang. My family love the hell out of that car. Got to the point where every spring I was pulling it out of storage and having to perform more and more repairs. I've always regretted selling it. I'm now post mid-life and a first year electrical apprentice at 5 years I top out. First word going to be saving and building on our house and as soon as I get a garage I'm going to build a 351 Windsor will a slight overbore (406 maybe honestly idk). Now I'm going to grab another 95 completely gut it and build the 95 with the power plant and the suspension I wished it had
The sn95 is an acquired taste you either love it or hate it, i love it cause as you mentioned in the video when you roll up to any car show or cruise night odds are you'll be the only sn95 there.
@@SN95Power Thank you i truly appreciate this, however there are alot more out there than mine that are waaay more bad ass. Mines just a lil old street car 😎
Ford wasn't actually going to kill the Mustang name, just put it on a fwd, Mazda based car. The Probe was originally going to be called Mustang until at the last minute they (correctly) decided it was a bad idea. They had even made body panels with "Mustang" embossed in them.
Always wanted to build a sleeper out of the girly looking purple 96-98 GT powered by a stock appearing but built 5.4L 2V with hidden low mount turbo. Stalled auto, e85, widened stock rear wheels and giant butterfly decal on the rear window for extra deception.
I have a 94' GT I bought over 20 years ago. Before it I had an 89' notchback, and a friend of mine bought a 94' almost brand new, and he set it up quickly with big wheels, flowmaster exhaust and other goodies. I couldn't help seeing the 4 wheel discs and its more bodacious stance and how the big wheels looked on it that I wanted one. I still have it and I still like it more than my prev. Notchback. My daughter and I attended the NMRA/NMCA event in Commerce Ga at Atlanta dragway and I showed her the Mystic Cobra. She absolutely fell in love with it. She grew up around the fox bodies because that’s what I had but she really liked the mystic cobra
Bigger wheel wells, mini starter, 5 lugs and rear disc brakes, and the stiffer chassis. It's a great starting point. They do look mean as hell if you do it right.
A friend of mine had one while we were stationed at Ft. Hood in 2000. Man we would get to Austin from Ft Hood in no time 😂😂 Just saw a 95 GT in VA on Craigslist.

1995 cobra R was an amazing vehicle. Had the privilege of working on a brand new one in South Jersey. Some serious modifications and was road tripped to the Carolinas. Wish I could find one today.
SN 95 my favourite body style.A few were imported to South Africa and I was kucky enough to own two of them,a stick shift and a auto.I loved the stick shift.Mustangs are my favourite cars and the SN 95 have a special place in my heart.
Brother, when 94' hit and the SN95 came out I friggin HATED IT!!! Man I was pissed they rounded off the Stang like that. It looked like a secretaries car. It wasn't the Mustang GT 5 oh. Or LX 5 oh. But it grew on me. I seen some did up just right and I loved it. Now I really like them. They were a little more stout chassis then the Fox body. People usually don't like change lol. I'm guilty as well lol.
Honestly i personally think after the 67-70 fastbacks and the terminator cobra...94-98 mustang is one of the moet unique looking stangs out there...ive gotten so many compliments on it when i had my 94 GT...it truly looks unique going down the road and has its own presence
If I remember correctly.at Fords 100th anniversary where they built all the SVT’s they did a huge burnout with the Boss9. John built it for a burnout contest he had against Chevy at least that’s what they told everyone
I currently own a 1995 Mustang GTS 5.0 that looks almost brand new. With only 25k miles. I read they only produced 1522 units. I'm so glad I pulled the trigger on it & now have a lil piece of mustang history.
After years of owning, building, and customizing fox bodies, I bought a '94 SN95 from my older brother who hit a rough patch and needed cash. I did my thang, she was crowned with the name Black Widow, due to the one off paint scheme and big power she was laying down after stroking and charging her. Truly best handling cars, tight and comfortable. Anyway, you're right about being different at shows or meets. I agree, worth their weight and completely interchangeable nuts snd bolts with foxes or new edges.
It was the 1987+ Mustang that the Probe (introduced in 1988) was supposed to replace, not the 1994. The 1994 SN95 Mustang (also known as the Fox 4) was the replacement for the ageing 1979-1993 Mustang. Before the SN95, there were talks of a shortened wheelbase 1989+ Thunderbird for the new Mustang, which I thought would have been better than the SN95 because of the independent rear and double wishbone suspension front and back, and being a ridged body style.
@mikehenry7509 same with mine...I just had to replace original ford parts in 2018 on my 94 gt, radiator, radiator fan, ECT sensor and fuel pump...all original parts
Yeah I always wanted the 5.0 sn95 cobra when I was young. Just a good sounding and looking car but hated the head lights. I wasn’t a fan of the modular motors until the 03-04 cobra came out in high school. Had to have one but settled on a GT sadly. Was probably good I didn’t need that car at 16 🤣 . But hey when your 16 🤣 you do what you can with what you got. Good video man thanks. 👍🏻
The early 4v is alot better than the old iron 302. They have forged cranks and a stout aluminum block all it needs is forged rods and pistons and you can make big power fairly cheap. Nowadays you can drop on boss rods and it's even cheaper good for 600-700 wheel in a 4.6 4v.
My first car in 2002 was a 94 GT 5 speed. Kept it all through high school and into college. Rebuilt the engine in high school with 10:1 compression, explorer intake, b303 cam. Also did 3.73 gears and sometimes ran drag radials. In todays world it would be a weak car, but early 2000’s it was pretty fast for my small town. I had my ass truly kicked in it twice. One was a 02 trans am firehawk, and the other was a 94 cobra with trick flow heads, cam, intake. Beat several LT1 powered Camaro and trans ams though. Still wish I never would of gotten rid of that car.
I love my 96 cobra, with just 3:73’s, a cold air intake, light weight drive shaft, and muffler delete with no tune I was able to keep up with a couple coyotes and c6 ls2 corvettes for a bit till they start top ending me out in 3rd gear lol, now I’m a real fbo 96 cobra with a completely new set up like a better caí, a real full bolt on exhaust, light weight flywheel, upgraded coil packs and spark plug wires, imrc delete plates, new oem injectors, 4:30 gears and a tune, should be head to head runs with coyotes and scat packs
When I was 17, the 1998 cobra was brand new. I remember lusting over a Chrome Yellow ‘98 convertible. But as a broke kid, a Fox was all I could afford. Now that I’m older, I still have the same Fox when I was 17, but finally got to buy a few SN95s along the way. Still haven’t gotten my yellow ‘98 cobra yet.
I love my special order GTS, it had the cobra r sway bar package. I added the konis, actually got the car to show all clear on all pcm tests. 80k Now installing a high revving race engine, with a/c South Florida
I like the SN95's, but I really like the upgrade to the New Edge restyle. Still technically an SN95. When I couldn't find a '99 Cobra 'vert, I looked into a '98. It was sweet, but my salesman called me and told me that they got a '99 in that someone decided that they didn't want. Rio Red, black interior and a black convertible top. It is a wonderful car. A few years later, I added an '03 Cobra 'vert. All black. It was taken off the line and run on the test track. It has a certificate, signed by John Coletti and Tom Scarpello, with all of the details and the mileage that they put on it. That makes it a bit more special. Either way, both Cobra's have given me lots of driving pleasure and they get a lot of attention. An excellent video and run-down of the SN95 Mustangs.
Picked up a two owner time capsule white on tan 97 cobra in 9/22 for 4k. Granted it had a bad motor, but I happened to have a 4v track car that I could no longer track, so it's heart and suspension went into the new car. I've got one of the only ones around here now, some people don't even know what an SN95 even is now. It's all s197 and up here.
I wasn't a fan of the SN95s when they first came out. I was actually pissed at Ford for them, but now I have a profound love for them. I have three of them 😂😂
#1..The Boss 9 was built for a friendly competition with GMs boss back in the day. They built a nasty ZL1 concept and they met at the track. I use to have the article from a mag. Lost it in a fire. It's out there. Pretty cool read.
@@hotrodray6802 I’m aware of the mod work around. But that’s silly. How many people driving these cars need to be able to hug the steering wheel. The seat never should have been so close. My personal opinion.
Sold my mint ‘95 Cobra three years ago. I had it for ten years but am looking for a New Edge Cobra or Mach 1 now. I prefer the New Edge style and wanted more power without having to modify my stock, mint car.
Didn’t the Super Stallion run on alcohol as well? It’s been years since I’ve seen anything about it but that seems to come to mind. 🤷🏽♂️ I turned 16 in ‘95 and I was rockin a ‘86 GT but the first time I laid eyes on the sn95 cobras & Saleens, I knew one would be in my future.
When people refuse to pay the newfound Foxbody prices then the demand for SN95 cars will increase. The aftermarket parts world is endless for these cars. Many motor options available too. SN95 cars weigh about 700 lbs less than an S550. Imagine what Coyote power could do in an SN95 project car!
I love my 96 mystic in progress of a terminator swap rn I’ve owned a fox body and 2 s197 3 valves and this is my favorite so far looks and driver’s experience oh and nothing beats a 4 valve dohc screaming at 7k rpm 😉
I remember reading the article on the concept boss. Chevy had a z/28 that went up against the boss. Chevy's production block couldn't hold up, so Chevy had to order a Donovan block. It's was a great read back in the day. I hoped Like hell ford would come out with the big block boss mustang.
Loved the video. Even though I'm a euro guy, I've always been a Mustang fan. The SN95 is #1 on my list, followed by the fox body notch back of course. I really liked the color matched saleens. I know a dealer where I grew up had a white with white wheels and a yellow with yellow wheels.
I've got a 96 gt that is garage bound right now. I wish I lived closer so I could have you put a coyote in for me. it's on my short list of plans for the ol girl.
Before i picked up my 89 GT maybe 17 years ago I was actually looking for an sn95. I still want one maybe someday. I dont think ill get rid of my extra nice 88 notch for one???
I'm kinda like you if they would have made the GT with more power that would have help them be more popular.Like with the Edge cars with the 03 04 cobra witch everyone still wants, something that you could buy from the factory.
I’m old. That’s my preface to my comments. First mustang was a 89 gt. Next a 93 gt. Finally, got sick of the z28’s 275 hp and did a FI on a 94 gt. The sn95 IMO, handled better and was more ergonomic. But who cares? Speed was the point. Had an opportunity to buy the 95 R, and I still have it!!! 351 no AC or backseats. I tracked it for a while, and now she’s in my garage along a 95 lightning that I still drive. Point is, the sn95 took a lot to stomach with its design. The fox should have offered at least a 351. But to each their own
i always liked the sn95 cars i still own a 94 sadly has some cancer but the body is mint i think this winter ill tear it down and try fixing it especially since sn95 prices have gone up a little bit since i initially started playing with the sn95 cars, i use to part them out too just my self probably cut up 35-50 of these cars because 10-15 years ago they were worth more in parts than they were together and the pushrod cars just hold a spot to me.
I COULDNT AFFORD the cobra r in 94 when they came out so i got the gt . 50,000 miles & 2 years later dad built a 351 with all ford performance parts. It was bad ass at the time & eating cameros daily
Can't deny they handle and ride better than a fox
100% agree. Love the Fox Body’s and owned a few when I was younger, but I just picked up a super clean and bone stock 85K mile ‘94 Cobra for $8500.
I've had 11 fox bodies over the years. I bought an 02 GT new and fell in love with the New Edge! I could care less about ever having another fox after having the New Edge. Hope to find another clean one some day since the EX got that one, lol!
Another small bonus is the interior (which gets a bad wrap) is light years ahead of the fox.

I miss my 95 GT i plan on buying one again eventually though.
'94, Lazer red, fully option,GT stick. My favorite street Ford. 145 MPH, 30 mpg. Great car.
I love my SN95, I like it better than some foxes I’ve had in the past.
With Foxbodys on the high end, the 94/95 5.0 is looking pretty good.
And I like those tail lights too.
THIS is the correct info...
1995 6.1 Cobra Jet would be my favorite rare 94-98 Sn95. Favorite rare 99-04 Sn95 would be the 99 Cobra R prototype.
Love my 94 turbo car. Always been a fan of that body when lowered on some deep dish
GTS. I think it was available in 94 and 95. It was GT that was kinda like an LX. No wing or any badges.
I have one, and it has a wing, I know it's not supposed to, but it looks 100% factory.
The GTS was available in 95 and 96 after complaints that there was no LX like option in 94.
I forgot the GTS!
I had a 95 5sp GT and it was by far the best car I’ve ever owned. Overlooked gem of a car.
Super reliable too boot
@@monikhushalpuri Mine certainly was. Literally never needed anything but brakes, tires, oil, and gas
I though you were going to showcase merchant Svt
Yes, I was able to get me one, convertible. Changed the drive train and super Changed it. Love it ❤. Along with my foxbodys.
The intro music totally goes with the car. 👍
That boss is 429 is in Livonia Michigan in the Jack Roush collection. Got to see it when I started working with Roush in 18/19
I remember watching all these cars on motor trend when i was a kid!
I love my special order GTS, it had the cobra r sway bar package.
I added the konis, actually got the car to show all clear on all pcm tests.
80k
Now installing a high revving race engine, with a/c
South Florida
Love foxes and sn95s! Different feel when you drive both but both are amazing in their own way.
I have a red 97 Cobra, It's a great car. Revving it to 7000 RPM any time you want is pretty nice.
I'm glad the Probe got the AXE!!!
Have one and absolutely love it
I wasn't a fan of the SN95s when they first came out.
I think if it wasn't for the f150 or the mustang Ford probably wouldn't be around
Agreed
Super Duty just entered the conversation
They'd go bankrupt within a year.
lol as a ford historian look up how many mustangs ford motor company sold in the 60s! lol where do you bi t h clowns come from?
Sadly there was less leg room in the SN95. I could fit in a fox but my knees were smashed into the dash in the SN95
Bolt the seat farther rearward
@@hotrodray6802 I’m aware of the mod work around. But that’s silly. How many people driving these cars need to be able to hug the steering wheel. The seat never should have been so close. My personal opinion.
@@sixwheelcarlisle8491it is pretty bad. My focus has way more room
@@sategllib2191 That’s crazy lol. Not sure who made the call to shrink the cockpit of the SN95s.
Sold my mint ‘95 Cobra three years ago. I had it for ten years but am looking for a New Edge Cobra or Mach 1 now. I prefer the New Edge style and wanted more power without having to modify my stock, mint car.
Great stuff man
Thanks buddy!
Didn’t the Super Stallion run on alcohol as well? It’s been years since I’ve seen anything about it but that seems to come to mind. 🤷🏽♂️
I turned 16 in ‘95 and I was rockin a ‘86 GT but the first time I laid eyes on the sn95 cobras & Saleens, I knew one would be in my future.
Yep, the Super Stallion pretty much predicted the future of Mustang performance.
I think you are right
When people refuse to pay the newfound Foxbody prices then the demand for SN95 cars will increase.
I loved my ‘94 Cobra, last year of the 5.0! 🐍
95 was the last year of the 5.0
I remember reading the article on the concept boss. Chevy had a z/28 that went up against the boss.
Chevy's production block couldn't hold up, so Chevy had to order a Donovan block. It's was a great read back in the day. I hoped Like hell ford would come out with the big block boss mustang.
They were still Foxbody's but more areo dynamic.
96 mystic Cobra one of my very favorite cars. I had one for about a year and a half and had to get rid of it. Heartbreaking.
I've got a 96 gt that is garage bound right now. I wish I lived closer so I could have you put a coyote in for me. it's on my short list of plans for the ol girl.
the jenner sn95 in alternate universe would be worth $$
Before i picked up my 89 GT maybe 17 years ago I was actually looking for an sn95. I still want one maybe someday. I dont think ill get rid of my extra nice 88 notch for one???
I'm kinda like you if they would have made the GT with more power that would have help them be more popular.Like with the Edge cars with the 03 04 cobra witch everyone still wants, something that you could buy from the factory.
Agreed buddy
They had same power as fox bodies and ain't but 100-150 lbs heavier trim for trim. They're not that bad. The 4v is the one to get.
Best bang for your buck out there in my opinion. I may be biased :)
In 30 years it will be one of the most valuable mustangs
The orange sn car you have as the thumbnail is the the baddest of all
But to each their own
I still miss my 96 Cobra. It was not the fastest car, but it sounded so good with and off road h-pipe and chambered mufflers.
I agree awesome cars my friend I love this cars
Lot of people hate the 94-98 cars probably why I’ve always liked them . I’ve had atleast 2 sn95’s for the last 18 years . 96 mystic cobra 95 gt .
Dont forget about the GTS!
i always liked the sn95 cars i still own a 94 sadly has some cancer but the body is mint i think this winter ill tear it down and try fixing it especially since sn95 prices have gone up a little bit since i initially started playing with the sn95 cars, i use to part them out too just my self probably cut up 35-50 of these cars because 10-15 years ago they were worth more in parts than they were together and the pushrod cars just hold a spot to me.
Colletas had side exhaust. Flames hit my legs.
I thought the 1990 was the 25th anniversary mustang. Am I thinking 20th?
Last half of 89, first half of 90
I COULDNT AFFORD the cobra r in 94 when they came out so i got the gt . 50,000 miles & 2 years later dad built a 351 with all ford performance parts. It was bad ass at the time & eating cameros daily
Anybody notice the 3000gt at 5:23
SN95/NEW EDGE, lightweight pocket rockets, still a bargain, but they are starting to come on strong, buy low, sell high.......
We need a fox meet in Tampa FL
What's the difference between the 351 in the SN95 and in trucks that have the 351? Thanks
