- Wow, this one...Mark Chambers is staggering in the piece. What an incredible voice. The recording at Air, Ben's orchestration, the choir, Jake's mix. I thought it came out pretty well in the end. I suppose I wanted to write the Tenth Doctor's 'My Way.' This scene...the walk through the snow...well...it hurt. The regeneration scene was heartbreaking. The way that you could tell it was the end. The doctor was staggering to the tardis doors in more pain than he had ever experienced. I just wanted to hug him and say goodbye ;(
What hurts more is, by technicality, 10 is only 6 years old. A child who sacrificed himself to save a man. He may have 906 years of experience, but his face only has 6 years

Agreed. Same with Eccleston's, Smith's and Capaldi's regeneration scenes.
It's not even "I don't want to go" that gets me. No. It's the blasting of The Doctor's Theme after he says it. Which for me is 9-10's theme. But since 9 got more time, I associate it with him more. And it's when that song hits. Man. My feels.

He didn't deserved to go like this...but it couldn't have ended any other way. And that rips me apart. He did so much good...made so many sacrifices...lost so much, gained so little...and his reward? Sacrificing the one thing he had left to give...himself.
Just the episode prior to this we saw him at his darkest and after that before the episode ends we can see him already know that this incarnation needs to go 😢😢 this is PEAK TV 😂

End of time was perfect
It has some problems but it's still one of my favorite Doctor Who stories.
This was the first doctor I saw regenerate. And my poor little 8 y/o self couldn't stop crying. God I miss the the tenth doctor.
I had started and finished secondary school by the time his era started and ended so it was an emotional rollercoaster

Honestly there's never been a moment on TV since that has topped this for me.
This is perhaps my all time Doctor Who pieces. Along with This is Gallifrey and the Doctor's Theme (10) create a hauntingly beautiful and mystifying set of music, that set my heart on fire.
After ten left, my care free childhood ended. Entrance exams and secondary school came into the picture in 2010. It was a good _farewell_ though, to both my doctor and my childhood. If a little sad.
I cried more when Christopher Eccleston regenerated than when David Tennant did, but it's worth remembering that i was 7 in 2005 and 12 when Tennant regenerated. Also 9 is my doctor. But I don't deny which regeneration was more heartbreaking, and it is definitely this one

Tennant may have been a popular actor but that was more due to his long tenure than anything else, Look at Tom baker his tenure was nearly 7 years and he's one of the highest rated Doctors.

Before this recent season of Doctor Who, I called David Tennant my favourite Doctor. And he still has a special place in my heart. But Peter Capaldi is just too good. It's going to hurt me when he regenerates.

+The Doctor Well, "The Doctor", this isn't meant to focus on Eleven's entry, but Ten's exit. Eleven's entry has its own song. This song highlights the idea that Ten is a hero and will be loved and never forgotten. It's to help him rest in peace.

I really think they should have ended the episode in the exact moment when the Doctor regenerated. Would have held the mood WAY better. Instead they destroyed it with the absurd behaviour of the new Doctor and the party/adventure-like music. That's the worst decision that was ever made in this series.

I don't agree with you, what i like about doctor who is that it's not cliche, it's not what you expect it to be, you're always surprised, and in this scene you are so heartroken and sad by the goodbyes with this wonderful 10th doctor, and right after that they make you smile while you're still crying, because the new doctor seems fun and freaking exciting. They also did that with the goodbyes with rose and i found this type of transition quite awesome! Anyways i understand why you feel that way but for me they couldn't have done a better ending.
