I know it's a work in progress but 90% of the time using Bixby or any other voice assistant takes more time than just performing the action on your own. I use Google assistant often but only to search the internet or send a long text using voice to text. I'll admit that it is cool that these assistants have gotten to a point where you can ask them to do multiple things or specific things in an app but again in most cases it's not saving any time because it was already very simple to do on your own. These often end up being more of a parlor trick than anything actually useful or time-saving. That will certainly eventually change and I guess these are just the baby steps to getting there. I'm still waiting for a digital assistant that can actually read an article aloud to me because I often like to read articles while at lunch but find it difficult using my hands to eat while scrolling and reading. To me that would actually be a huge help that I would use often.

Bixby has never once saved me time. In fact, it has cost me quite a bit. It has made using the S8 so painful that I now dedicate quite a bit of time to complaining about it. When complaining in-person, I always demonstrate at least once. I haven't one found myself saying "oh, wow it actually worked." In fact, Bixby is perhaps the worst excuse for an artificial intelligence that I've ever encountered - if it had even a remote clue, it would pick up on the many obscenities that I yell at it and either delete itself or stop loading when I press the Bixby button. To date, it has not done either. The day it did that is the day I can label it "intelligent."
Sodium Hydroxide If u get adept at it, then there's no difference and no he's no noob at editing so I don't think it can ever take that long....it's just like taking a pic with someone's arm/fingers just entering the extreme end of the frame...u can decide to crop later or just take a new one.......except in case of blurring out, 1 seems more professional and u know that no matter what, no weirdo who checks frame by frame when stuff like that happens will see anything...and the're no risk of anything showing like it does with a palm......reasons are pretty simple really and it's just one of those little things that add a nice touch to vidz.....
Very funny: you turn the flashlight on with Bixby: "Biggsbee" "Turn on the flashlight" But because it is so cumbersome, you turn it off with 1 swipe en 1 tick.

I was apart of Bixby's voice beta team, so I've had the opportunity to play with Bixby voice for some time now. I really wish Bixby would incorporate more 3rd assistance apps, like Verizon messaging instead of Samsung. I'm always open to watching tutorials to enhance my bixby skills and level up. Man this is Awesome! I haven't ever used Bixby even though Ive used top of the line Notes and Galaxies. But my partner uses Siri and I decided to try Bixby. This video of yours just blew me away - THANK YOU! Specially, "remember where I parked", and "optimize". Maybe you should do a 2021 version for the latest version of Bixby with latest models.

All phones harvest your usage via your manufacturer AND your service provider. We are all paying for our own leashes like good lil sheeple. May as well use the features if you're using the phone.
Great tips. I've been using Bixby since beta and the latest update is a great improvement. I use Bixby way more than I thought I would. When you link a bunch of commands together and just let her go it seems far simpler then going to settings, then going to gallery, then opening Facebook, yada, yada. One question, sometimes she turns on, usually while in the car listening to talk radio, and starts typing everything she hears. Is there an option to have her only respond to my voice?

the shortcuts are awesome. Instead of "attach the last picture from my screenshot album" (while in the messaging app) I made a quick command by saying "attach my last screenshot"
I needed to put playback speed on 1.5 due to the slow talking and rapid disinterest, no offence intended. Just slight advice prehaps speak a little quicker and slightly more engaging...peak and flows of conversation might help

Hi! Thanks for your videos! I just bought a Fitbit versa on Friday. It completely went dead and my fiance returned it and got me the Samsung active. It's way more than anything I've ever dreamed of! It's beautiful, sturdy,nhas a ton more features and all around better. The Fitbit was plastic, way tonight, felt and looked cheap, died right away even though we tried to factory and hard reset it. The charger sucks, it wouldn't pair and syncing wouldn't work, it lagged and was super slow. I'm happy this happened and I upgraded.

My microwave door handle broke down. A friend with Note 8 took a picture of the microwave and instantly revealed the model number that enabled me to go and get the replacement part from the store. Second, he took a picture of a page of a book and Bixby converted it to Microsoft word and opened a lot of very convenient possibilities for me who does a lot of writing white papers. These to me should get two slots in the 10 best features of Samsung Bixby.

So this means that our phones mic is pretty much on all the time and is most likely listening/recording every single conversation/thing that we say. We know Samsung came out about them having and using the cameras on their smart TVs to watch/record everyone with them. So I would definitely not be surprised if they were recording us through or phones audio and camera actually as well. Considering that we have to give up all access to everything on our phone just to be able to use it or certain apps....
This is really cool, something no one might of thought about, but the feature about unlocking ur phone using ur voice & being able to set certain commands for the phone to then do basically if you were in a bad situation where you needed to phone the police but your unable to get to your phone or you are in a situation where simply getting your phone out isn't possible you could say a certain command kinda like a safe word which in the phone would be recognised to phone the police then your secrete word which unlocks your phone... That could save ur life so someone's in my house I'm tied up they've got guns & their robbing me... I see my phone on the side close enough for it to pick up my voice I say the word used to unlock my phone & then say the command which phones the police then boom they hear what's going on they send police out to where the phone is & ur saved whohoo

That was a good video. I bought a used Samsung S9+ but returned it because of poor phone call audio. I replaced it with another phone of the same model but now I can't get my phone to wake me up with a nice greeting that tells me the weather forecast. I went from an iPhone 4s to S6 Edge and now S8. I am impressed with Bixby after using siri and sound hound. If you have a S7 currently, the upgrades and improvements probably aren't enough to justify the jump but if you're like me, I hold on to tech 2-3years then get the latest and greatest possible.

Google MAPS, and therefore Google assistant, is the absolute, hands down, no holds barred, BEST way to get to a certain destination. PERIOD. Even after you know where you are going (like the 358th time you are driving home from work), it is still a good idea to check the MAPS app first. It could be, as happened to me both Tuesday and Wednesday, that an accident or other severe slow down on the interstate or somewhere else along your usual route is making it so you would do better to go another way. The Google MAPS app can not only tell you that there is a bad slow down and what would be a good alternate route, it can even tell you exactly how much longer it is currently estimated to take if you went your usual route, and it can tell you how long you should expect your new route to take (as well as any and all of the choices it gives you for a new route). This lets you decide if the time saved is going to be worth it to you--especially if it means you can't stop at the grocery store on the way home. It is a GREAT app, and I should probably mention that if you tell it what grocery store you usually use and/or what you are looking to be able to get on the way home, Google MAPS can find you an alternative like licketty split.

Question, not relating to this video. On your video the 10 features for note 8. You showed how to go straight to grayscale. On my note 8 I don't have a grayscale, so how come I don't have grayscale and how can I get it? Loving the videos and glad I found them

That was a good video. I bought a used Samsung S9+ but returned it because of poor phone call audio. I replaced it with another phone of the same model but now I can't get my phone to wake me up with a nice greeting that tells me the weather forecast. Can you tell me how to get it please as I miss it?

Omg, i am a long term xperia user that just moved to Samsung. And i always thought that xperia lounge is just badx but this bixby showed me that someone can do even worse and more useless... no offense to the video. Thank you for the effort to explain us what Bixby does
nice vid thx! although after going into safemode and back, I lost many apps (S8+) and by just google search it seems this happens to people with samsung s6 so not new to samsung... hmm first bad experience with android...

JimmyB C I upgraded from the s7 to the s8+ and it's worth it's. Everything is better on it. Now this is my honest opinion since I use my phone for a lot of stuff. Not just for social media.

I went from an iPhone 4s to S6 Edge and now S8. I am impressed with Bixby after using siri and sound hound. If you have a S7 currently, the upgrades and improvements probably aren't enough to justify the jump but if you're like me, I hold on to tech 2-3years then get the latest and greatest possible.
vabrova I had an iPhone 6s, now I'm at galaxy s8.. bixby has a lot of potential but it isn't good enough yet

Google MAPS, and therefore Google assistant, is the absolute, hands down, no holds barred, BEST way to get to a certain destination. PERIOD.
Even after you know where you are going (like the 358th time you are driving home from work), it is still a good idea to check the MAPS app first. It could be, as happened to me both Tuesday and Wednesday, that an accident or other severe slow down on the interstate or somewhere else along your usual route is making it so you would do better to go another way. The Google MAPS app can not only tell you that there is a bad slow down and what would be a good alternate route, it can even tell you exactly how much longer it is currently estimated to take if you went your usual route, and it can tell you how long you should expect your new route to take (as well as any and all of the choices it gives you for a new route). This lets you decide if the time saved is going to be worth it to you--especially if it means you can't stop at the grocery store on the way home. It is a GREAT app, and I should probably mention that if you tell it what grocery store you usually use and/or what you are looking to be able to get on the way home, Google MAPS can find you an alternative like licketty split.
