I have never seen old magazines re-purposed like this...it gives me a wonderful idea of how I can use some of my 'revolutionary' glossy prints that I have. Do you think that I can spray lacquer instead of epoxy?
Hey good stuff man as well as the channel. Just from a design perspective, I'd loose the coloured LEDs making the whole thing look cheapish. Of course, it's a taste preference, but the magazines themselves really stand out with colour and complexity, all you want is simple dual colour LED strip, that goes from cold to warm colour temp. Thought I'll just bother you with this.
hello, I find this amazing & so helpful. did you only apply 1 layer of modpodge on top? I want to encapsulate a whole magazine, so I was wondering how many coats do you suggest to protect the magazine from the resine & any tips to avoid wrinkles?
Really clean and bad ass! Do you think the wrinkles could have been avoided? I know you don't mind them, but just wondering as I think the wrinkles would definitely bother me 😐. In case I ever plan on doing something similar.
I think using a dryer type of glue or adhesive would do the trick. But epoxy is also wet so you would have to consider protecting the top of the magazines as well...so not entirely sure.
I want to do this with vintage playboy magazines!!
Great idea! I have tons of old LIFE magazines I could use.
Love the old car magazines! That's a great look.
Appreciate it! It really was a nice way to get them out of storage and see the awesome old content.
Woodness Goodness I grew up reading my older brother’s Car & Driver magazines from a young kid.
Dude, it looks awesome! Such a cool project.
Thanks bro!
super cool idea!
Thank you!
This is such a clever way to show off your creativity -- and make something practical! Love it!
I get it from my dad...

That is an awesome way to use old car mags! Great job 🍻

Looks awesome, man!
Thank you!
Dude, make me one!
Volvo edition?
@@WoodnessGoodness Yes! and I spot a V70, yours?
Super cool!! How much epoxy did you use?
MIND BLOWN!! ...in a good way:) New sub and so glad I have found your content.
Damn, that’s sick! Very clever way to display those old magazines. Though you should have lied and said they were neons instead of LEDs 😉
ola, meu velho tudo bem seu trabalho ficou muito bonito grande abraço !

Juliet Phillips I’m not sure if lacquer is thick enough. Epoxy resin makes sure that nothing gets wet and is completely protected as a surface.
Hell yea dude! I'm going to so this with vintage playboys. About how long will the epoxy hold up for? With regular cleaning etc
Epoxy is still holding up. Worst case you sand it and recoat down the road but it’s rock solid.

You are SO right. I haven’t used the lights since the video. The coffee table doesn’t need them like you said!
What song is the intro?
What is mod podge and what is it for?
It is a glue, sealer, and finish
This is fuckin beautiful, well played
This is pretty dope, how much you charge to make one?

A whole magazine might be tough. Unless all the pages were all glued together. I would test it out!
@@WoodnessGoodness I was thinking after using modpodge, seal the edges of each magazine with crystal clear silicone
thats some pro level shit
