Gel Plate Printing with Stamps - Tutorial

- 🌞I am making some gelli prints today using some of my brand new stamps. I am working with acrylic paints and the square and a tag sized gelli printing plate. The new stamps will be available in the shop next week for preorder. International shipping starts on January 11th.

When I saw this on your IG, I knew I had to come over and watch. I finally made it. These are terrific! I love the color combos, your methods, and, probably most of all, that you did this in real time. I love playing with my gel plates (I have a lot of anxiety and this helps me relax) and I love watching people and learning from them. Too often, though, their videos are sped up so fast I can't always make sense of the steps or process. So, for me and anyone else trying to improve our printing process, THANK YOU. Gorgeous prints Susanne! I'm loving the green you used. You called it Schmincke Academie Hooker's Green, but I cannot find that color. Is that the correct color? Has this color been discontinued? Thank you!
What kind of paper do you print on? I love watching your printing.
It's copy paper. I use from 120 to 220 gsm.
Beautiful color combinations. The new stamps are really great for creating marks on the gelli plate. But can you use them afterward also for ink stamping??
Yes of course. You just have to make sure that the paint doesn't dry on the stamp. I lay it onto a wet wipe (facing down) while I am working and clean them afterwards with water.

Lovely video! How do you get the sheets into your journal? Do you glue them in?
I normally never cover a whole page with them. But if I would I would just stick it down with Mat Medium. I use them for collages, card backgrounds or to build a journal from them. You will find tutorials on my channel. Happy you like the video.
