Americans who can afford it compete with each other during all of the holidays. It is a real house, and it really draws a crowd. Everyone always looks forward to seeing them. Americans love sharing these kinds of shows with others.
Most of these displays will have a little sign on the lawn telling you to turn your car radio to a specific frequency, because the music is being broadcast from the house, so you can enjoy the song matched to the lights as you drive by.
@AliKaiProject Tom has different songs to his light show.. I believe he has 6 different songs and they are all in order cause the pumpkins does a voice over performance. He also does Christmas lights too. ❤❤❤❤❤
You need to watch any video of the "Behind the Scenes" of setting up one of these. the electronics and computer controls are a thing to behold. The amount of forethought and planning required for these displays is intense. Pretty much every holiday in the US has someone doing a themed show.
This guy was just a music professor and did it for a hobby and to honor his wife who had a stroke while pregnant (she's better now) is now a professional lights and effects person. He started off just as a guy in a regular neighbourhood. He then moved to a more secluded spot so as not to piss off the neighbours and because he was drawing a bigger crowd of spectators. People all over the country do these things often they use AM radio frequencies tuned for the cars so they don't just blast the neighborhood with sound.
Houses like these have a spot to park your car and watch. They’ll have a small sign with the radio station to set, to listen to the music along with the lights
Yes this is real, loll. This is similar to the light shows that you find at Christmas (which he has videos for as well) so it's not on all the time. He did one for Michael Jackson's Thriller for this year along with 4 other songs. There are usually multiple songs per performance. This is from 2023.
@@MsLhuntMartinez79 it's starts with AC/DC's Thunderstruck, then Maroon 5's Harder To Breathe, Rockwell's Somebody's Watching Me, PSY's Gangnam Style and Thriller is the finale.
This is getting more common. You drive up and tune your radio to whatever A.M. station they have listed and the music plays inside your car. So the lights and traffic is the only thing the neighbors hear. They won't play all night. Usually dark until 9-10 p.m. You can buy these lights and kits and set it. This is way above my pay grade. I love to ride around and look at all the decorations.
There 's a house by my parents that put up a similar display for Christmas in their yard is a sign to let you know what FM radio frequency to turn to so you can hear the music from the inside of your car. That is the only way to hear the music so that the neighbors aren't disturbed and I think is says from 8pm - 10pm Friday - Sunday or something like that so it's not going off just all the time and when people have to get up for work.
That was from last year's show, where the whole show was about 15 minutes. This year's is about 25 minutes long. They have five videos for each individual song (Thunderstruck, Harder to Breathe, Somebody's Watching Me, Gangnam Style, and Thriller) and the full show video.
In my neighborhood we have a couple houses that go all out like this for holidays. They will send out a schedule to the neighbors. It includes the times the shows are going to start each night, the radio frequency that has the music, etc.
In Centerville (Dayton) Ohio, there is a house that does something similar like this, but it is for Christmas. People can park their cars across the street and turn to a special radio station where the Christmas songs are played repeatedly on a loop.. I think most of the songs are from Manheim Steamroller.
The company that set this up did a five-song set in a separate video, ua-cam.com/video/QYxJ7swX4lg/v-deo.html "Thunderstruck". "Harder to Breathe", Somebody's Watching Me", "Gungnam Style", and of course, "Thriller"
There's one of these on my street but for xmas instead of Halloween. They have the sign out front saying to turn your radio to a specific station. And theh usually have deals with their neighbors to only do the lights during certain hours in the evenings.
This is a normal thing to do. Some families plan their Halloween theme a year in advance and do the same for Christmas time. There are neighborhoods where you can walk from house to house to view the decorations or watch a full display. Some houses have motion detectors to turn on a light show, as you ask by. Some decorations can be elaborate.
The neighbors aren't disturbed much. They may have some small speakers mounted for the people walking by. But what you hear is an FM transmitter from the display played over the car radio of those driving by. This isn't the usual Halloween display. But there it always neighborhoods in any large city trying to outdo one another. So it isn't that uncommon either. It is the Christmas displays you will want to see.
There are actually people who do this all over the United States No, they don’t work lights. I do know it is ran through a computer at your home. Where at synchronizes all the lights for you you just have to tell which lights you want to flash and everything you want to happen at specific points of the song it does take a little bit of planning to go through the song and arrange the light show . Halloween , and Christmas are two of the biggest decoration phenomenon that you can see these light shows just by driving down the streets
We do have some of these here in the UK. In my city there's a whole street who get together to put on displays. It's probably 20 or 30 houses. They all have a competition between them to put on the best display, while raising money for charity. People have made it a tradition to visit at Christmas and they take their kids and grandkids etc. Some of the displays are simple but others are really elaborate and you can tell they've put a lot of effort into it. It used to only be at Christmas but I think they started doing Halloween during the pandemic too. Even the local council got involved in it and a local security company provides traffic control for free on their busiest nights. They even have a van selling snacks and hot drinks with all the proceeds going to the charity of choice that year.
I don't know how it's done but I know you can buy lights in USA that are connected to a phone app then you can control everything very easily. I think this is setup more in depth, but yeah pretty cool
Deck the halls is a great movie though! We can't wait for Christmas lights, if Halloween is this crazy I can only imagine what a little Christmas spirit does to the neighbourhood. :)
If you think this is crazy wait until Christmas 🎄 Here in Michigan, they light up the night. Great reaction, Love From Michigan and it's a beautiful evening kinda warm this time of year it's 78 degrees ❤❤
People all over the US do this for Halloween and Christmas. People can drive by the houses and hear the music of each house on the radio. You must turn your car radio to a certain station to hear the music. Christmas time is even more nuts. It cost a ton of money to do this and this house was done by a professional. Normal people do their homes up by themselves ---some with music and some without. There is a house owned by a billionaire near me in Florida and he has a team decorate the home for Christmas starting in October or so each year. She spends a thousands on it each year. When you see homes with music and lights like the house in this video, you are really getting into big money. Someone said about this video on another UA-cam channel that it costs about $60K to have a professional come and sync up everything. Of course the owner of this house may have the knowledge to do it himself for less money. We Americans do not mess around when we decide to celebrate something. Lights on homes for the holidays is just the beginning.
We’re totally going down the rabbit hole on this one! Can’t wait to checkout more displays especially Christmas stuff! It’s definitely expensive but I’m glad people do it. 😍
There's companies that set up the lights too Its usually in higher end neighborhoods if the HOA Karen's dont wreck it 😂😂There may still be a yt channel about prepping the lights too.
Every video I have watched of Brits reacting to Halloween house lights is this one. You need to look for Ghost Busters as I have said. It is so much better. I often wonder if You Tubers do indeed read the comments as so often questions go unanswered, and suggestions go nowhere. We are asked to like and subscribe so I feel it is only fair that you respond to us. Thankyou.

Oh that’s really cool! We’d have never known to be honest, I guess the same songs repeated out loud might drive neighbours mad. 😀

Welcome to Halloween in the U.S.A.!! The singing pumpkin is awesome! 🎃

I thank him from the bottom of my heart. I absolutely love his holiday shows.
You drive up and tune your radio to a set FM channel specifically for the sound. Seat nicely in your car and enjoy.
people with money will hire companies that set up such designs/displays. Sometimes the homeowner does it themselves. not cheap. awesome as hell!

Yes, this is some ones house. You can buy music and light kits that will do this in any hardware store in the U.S..
You must have some extra special hardware stores
