    The past couple of weeks I noticed a huge increase in energy with my students, and that meant running in the classroom (no matter how much outdoor and gym time we got). I took a look at our classroom set up and decided to make some changes, and this is what I share in today's video. Remember: At any time during the school year, you can change things. This is where careful observation of how your students are using the environment is so important, every single day. I totally agree with changing the room to stop the children from running around.

    I totally agree, when things aren’t working It’s a good time to look at ways to change to make things work more smoothly

      I wish I had known this when I first started teaching, but thankful that I eventually figured it out! 🙂

    Children get bored with doing the same thing just like adults and I agree with you we have to keep twinking until we find what works🙂

    رائع، يعجبني المعلم الذي يسعى لتغغير من بيئة الصف لتكون ملائمة ومريحة للأطفال
    كما أنها ستكسر الملل الذي قد يحصل
    شكرا لك

      Good to hear! I might need to do a bit more tweaking when we return from spring break, but I I’ve how it’s working now!

    Thank you for this ! I definitely agree and love that you bring this to light. I have a class of mainly 2s and when I set up my classroom it definitely was not set up to work with the flow of our everyday activities so I had to move almost ALL of it around. It now flows better and makes more sense for certain activities and it’s not perfect and I keep tweaking stuff as well but that’s just the life of a teacher lol. Also I would love to know or have a link to those mirrors you have where they are playing play-doh.

      Yes! It really is constant tweaking as we observe how our children are using the space. As for the mirrors, they are about 6 years old and I believe from Lakeshore Learning, but I haven’t been able to find them recently. The ones I found on Amazon were way too small. 😢

    The changed that you made worked very well. Please, how do you work with the kids rules, procedures and follow directions??????? I can see that the children listen to you. What about when some kids dont listen to you ???? What do you do ???? Thanks so much. Thanks from Italy💖🙏

      There's a lot to this, but the main thing is being consistent. Choose how you want to handle certain situations and follow through with the same consequences.

    Fab video! I love to see other real settings. And yours is amazing. Where did you get the lovely mirror mats that the children are using for the playdough?

      Thank you, Suzanne! I am pretty sure it was Lakeshore Learning, but it was about 6 years ago and I haven’t been able to find more. 😢 I’ve only found much smaller ones on Amazon.

    How many children are in the classroom

    • @Teaching2and3YearOlds
      @Teaching2and3YearOlds  2 роки тому

      Because there are 2 year olds in our class, our state licensing doesn’t allow more than 10 children per class. This year I have 9.

      @@yvettemoore1913 - Thank you! I really love this classroom. I was downstairs in a much smaller room for years before I moved to this room. It has 2 counter areas and 2 sinks, too! 😊
