Sony's newest truly wireless earbuds just sound great
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 сер 2024
- Sony's next-generation true wireless earphones, the WF-1000XM3, may finally make it a player in the totally wireless headphone arena. The earbuds feature excellent sound and active noise cancellation, and might give Apple's AirPods a run for their money.

Finally, true wireless Earbuds with active noise cancellation. No more maxing out the volume to mask out undesirable noise.
Jabra elite 65t do these too. They're cheaper too.
karl tee I prefer Sony or Bose when comes to wireless headphones.
@@karltee7862 Not really true NC in my opinion. Just better noise isolation.
@@shethsa exactly. as one who has the 65t, they don't have noise cancellation but they do have a tight fit and isolate the surroundings quite a bit.
Bose are going to make some as well
This is getting out of hand now, can't they come up with a simple, more catchy name?
ICE Starboy wud help ppl notice them better i think 😂😂😂
No. Why? Because at Sony, we die at a glacier pace because we won't change!
Honestly I think it's because the complicated naming scheme adds to the product being marketed as a more sophisticated product. Unlike skullcandy or beats who have names that are simple and recognizable. Companies like Sony, Bose, sennheiser, and master and dynamics use these kinds of names, which sets them apart from more common audio products.
@@parminderjaura5642 Earpod? Bose Soundsport. BOSE 700. Sennheiser Gaming One. They sound very simple.
Thinking the same. A simpler name would have been XM3.
Crush: What's your name?
Apple: Airpods
Samsung: Earbuds
Sony: *Stutters*
Oops haha
This is going to sell period. And i think these are my next buds
I'm not jumping in these until I see what the Bose Earbuds 500 bring to the table.
Let's call it Sony boi x3
@@cityhick1987 the earbuds 700 are the noise canceling ones
@@username1907 I know that, noise cancelling is simply a bonus, not a necessity so 500s are what I've got my eye on
Gonna be my next ones.
why is JJ ABRAMS reviewing headphones?
Sony has always made great headphones with a nice clear sound and bass.
B A nice...
Have you heard Sony ex1000? It sound like shit for the price.
&Ö& Paneristi How about for this one? Any suggestions? Not trying to mock you but actually finding alternatives instead.
@&Ö& Paneristi sony mh1 lol
@&Ö& Paneristi sony mh755
Finally the first english review. Thank you.
India me kya price he?
For a second I thought he was a one of the Gunn brothers .
Well, Gunn brothers are trying to make some money during their free time
He looks more like JJ Abrams
I like over the ear headphones so everyone can see that approaching me is futile.
Judge Dredd Hahahaha PREACH
They also sound better
Sony has one of the best earphones with that sophisticated noise cancellation.
Great sound, in a good price.
And it's not that overpriced like other brands.
Not overpriced? Yeah only 230 dollars. Same price like bose or Beats. So yeah, it’s definitely overpriced.
@@AM-in5cf they are expensive...not overpriced. Airpods are overpriced because they offer far less for what you pay for.
Look up Funcl W1s... They do what these do for 25% of the price and are water resistant. I got them for $25 from their Indiegogo campaign and have been using them for over half a year now. Funcl needs to make more products and disrupt this industry. They make high quality stuff.
@@AM-in5cf There are a looot of better earbuds for half the price of these ones, they're definitely overpriced, you are paying for the brand, not the quality
HCV I will love to find some of those you are mentioning With the same or better battery life.
As an owner of the 1000MX3’s, I’d purchase these in a heartbeat for a Sony quality, AirPod-rivaling product. The lack of water resistance / decent IP rating is disappointing though, especially as someone in the market for some nice workout earbuds

Jim is the standard of audio gadget reviews
Headphones from companies in the likes of Sony and such shouldn't even be compared to airpods. Understandably airpods are technically the "industry standard" but at this point it's like you're comparing gold to aluminum, or oranges to apples(lol).
Word. Sony's experience in the audio industry is incomparable to the likes of Apple. *These people know their craft.* They are always pricier though compared to rivals.
And still nobody did great open earbuds. Many people have to find closed earphones that fit their ear form and even they can't use them more than 3-4 hours comfortably.
I would buy these only for noise canceling and great codec support
Sethuna wireless wise Apple is the standard with airpods
@@MrEddyedr Exactly, the standard. Nothing impressive or state of the art about them.
Sethuna other than connection. Since they were the only ones that you could use either pod independently from the other.
These are going to just dominate the market.I wanted to love the first gens but they just weren't there yet. These look super promising.
this prediction won't age well
More than a year later and these are still the king of wireless earphones.
I need to know the sample " CALL QUALITY" of sony 1000xm3 earbuds.
Firmware update v2.0.2 enables us control volume. A short tap raises volume and a long press lowers it. We can assign it to either side
the quick attention doesn't actually pause your music, only lowers music volume. then maxes out ambient sound.
In the market for new in ear bluetooth headphones. They look amazing, and probably sound amazing as well ,however; they are not sweat proof or water resistant. Loved the design though.
Yeah especially the case
I don't think you need to worry. 10 years ago nothing was waterproof rated, nobody cared and you could drop your phone in the pool just to take it up and wait a day or two to use it
@@thoughtsofapeer your right about that, guess I could try them out and if any problems do arise, i could always return them.

What a polite and gentlemanly review!
Thank you, sir.
I see a lot of you guys are under estimating the power of noise canceling. The noise canceling is the main reason i would buy this instead of any other wireless earbuds. Its the most important feature.
I got a pair of galaxy buds as a replacement just recently but I'm a bit interested in these as well, but for that high of price with no water or sweat resistance i would have to give a pass unfortunately
Active noise cancelling tho
I feel ya
I'm trying to decide between the two because the Galaxy buds are small and cheaper but these Sonys have NC which is what I've wanted since I use airpods rn
@@keith5790 i had the galaxy gear icon x 2018 edition which were IP 67 the galaxy buds are an X2 rating a big trade off between the two but im not minding the trade off

The Galaxy buds sound horrid thoe

Note that I did not workout with my QC30, I am currently using the Trekz Air and Mifo O5 for my Runs and Gym sessions. But in Thailand, you can sweat even when working in a fully air conditioned office. And I sweat profusely most of the time.
I have a 100xm2 and I can't have that on for too long either.
Will probably pick this one up though, just wanted to try.
They just released a firmware update. Before you could only use the Google Assistant, now it can use Amazon Alexa AND you have an option to CONTROL THE VOLUME! I love it!
Picked up a set of these headphones and they are amazing. I also use the over the ear Sony headphones and those also are amazing. I left the Apple AirPods for these earbud and it was well worth it
The fact that Sony cares more about the product than the marketing and naming just means they focus on practicality more than everything

got these for 200 bucks last week, thoroughly impressed with the sound quality and ANC offered. My only major gripe is that even with the right sized ear tips ( I used the largest silicone eartips), they have fallen out twice while im casually walking on one day, which is disappointing. But overall, I would rate these 8/10.
I hate when reviewers compare Airpods to every wireless ear buds that comes out! The Airpods are very poor design and the sound is okay at best. The only reason they're the best selling wireless ear buds is because people with half of a brain in they're heads gotta follow a tread to be cool. The main reason why you buy wireless earbuds is for music, not to talk to people. They make Bluetooth devices for that. Please compare these Sony earbuds to a real set earbuds, not Airpods!
8 hours per charge is good as my beoplay e8 lasts only 4 hours.
the WH 1000 MX3 can stand for 30 hours
I too can last 8 hours
It can last 24 hour.

Can 2 people share these and listen at the same time (i.e. one earbud per person)?

WF-1000XM3 vs Klipsch T5 True Wireless? Thoughts?
Go visit digital trends UA-cam channel they have a review
What is better?
Sennheiser momentum treu wireless or the Sony ones
I want to see how this compares to Klipsch T5 & Cambridge Audio Melomania
Does noise canceling work to an extent when using only one earbud? Also, can both earbuds be used solo or is there that master and slave earbud situation?
Ye when I have my wh-xm3 on and cover 1 ear and the other ear isn't coverd by the headphone. Its not fine at all. 1 ear is silent and my other ear has all the noise to a point it starts to hurt😕
Not having a volume button is a real big deal for me ! Some songs are louder than others at times and dont want be getting out my Walkman or phone to do this!!
Cool earbuds should be:
- more than 5 hours playtime and battery case 24 hours like airpods
- can connect to 2 device in same time is a plus like bose
- find my buds feature like galaxy buds
- can control volume or other option touch control like galaxy buds
- can operate only use single buds either left or right like airpods or galaxy buds
- not feel pain when you use it while you sleeping with it like airpods
- low profile design like galaxy buds
- sound like sennheizer or B&O e8
Hahahaha now who can make this?
Better wait for next bose canceling earphone I think, in gizmodo Japanese channel it's been confirmed instrument separation is really lacking which means sound quality isn't far from wf1000x which left a lot to be desired :( . It's a really cool product though
Too bad all ear buds hurt me terribly. Tiny ears, tiny ear canals. But I did just buy the WH1000XM3s
@yut suneki Well I am going to use their over the ear headphones for most. But I will probably be using my bluetooth ear buds for things like working out. So I'll look into it.
wonder how these compare to the Klipsch ones ? 🤔
They're huge. Galaxy buds are still the best talk time 7 hours, music playback 8hrs ambient noise included lol both can control calls, music, raise volume, ambient noise, voice assist. All for 130usd
P.s. I used them on my OnePlus 7p
Rubin lopez I want them for workout exercises
How is the bluetooth connection with more than 1 device? I would like to use them with my phone and laptop, but with the overhead ones I can only connect to one at time.
Can you hook up more than one Bluetooth device at the same time. Can you be connected to your laptop and then receive a call on your phone without manually switching?
Compared to klipsch t5?
I preordered the Klipsch t5 wireless
These look great. Really damn nice design, and impressive features. I just found out what me next pair of wirelss earbuds will be...
How's voice call quality with the earbuds? One recurring issues with Sony is that only left earbud can be used for voice calls. I intend to get a pair of earbuds that have good voicecalls given I take many calls in my role at work. Would appreciate a response!
Mmm... Have the sp700n which are meant to have noise cancelling. The noise cancelling is mediocre at best and honestly makes things worse as only cuts out a tiny amount of noise but that means you focus even more on the rest of the sound which comes through. Really question the honesty in some of these reviews when they mention noise cancelling as don't feel they are nearly good enough.
Does the Bluetooth voice call still only come through on the left ear piece? That's my only gripe with the old ones.
I’m in love 😍 I am definitely buying these
Here. Take my money Sony! it's always been for you. Ahha
I just dont understand why wireless earbuds are so expensive, i mean how come they cost almost as much as the M3s? While the M3 has much more material in it overall looks more expensive to build
So much tech in such a small space isn't easy to engineer - so that has it's price of course. Quite simple 🤷🏻♂️
Already in love with the WH-1000XM3. I think my search for decent sounding true wireless earphones has ended now.
Kumar Sagar I’m also looking forward for these because of the active noise isolation.
Currently I own the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless and sound quality is not just decent, it is stellar. Hope the WH1000XM3 can rival the sound quality of the Sennheisers.
Does someone know, if these have delay issues at watching UA-cam?
I have the last gen and love them! I tried JBL and they were obsoletely horrible with connectivity and sound I returned them and have had the 1000x since then and loved them.
How does the noise cancellation compare to the over the ear ones? Or compare to the Bose qc?
Do these work independently? One at a time?
I'm run. So when I'm running, I want to hear my music. But if I'm talking to somebody, I don't want to have to take these things off. Previously, that was my hesitation about buying one of these things. With my current Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones, it's easy to pull'em out of my ears because they hang on my neck.
With the WF-1000XME, doing that would we be a huge inconvenience. According to early reviews, they sense when you're having a conversation. Even better would be if they can sense a siren or when somebody is trying to talk to you.
Yes probably the sound and the build quality will be very very good but:
1) No sweatproof
2) No support for aptx
3) No volume controls
For 250 euro I think Sony could have done a better job
For 250 euros they should give you flying powers. This shit is the same price as my pocophone man, it will NEVER be ok to pay this much for earbuds
If you activate the assistant you can say” volume level 36%” and it raises and lowers the sound
I currently own a set of Sony wf-1000x, and I was really hoping that the next gen would have volume control on the headphones themselves. That's a real bummer.
But I do like the fact that these will pair each ear-piece to the phone, rather than chain them. Hopefully will help the right ear drop outs that the WF-1000X currently has problems with.
How’s the latency for videos?
Its BT5.0 right? Latency shouldn't be too much of an issue for videos and casual gaming
Both earphones are simultaneously connected to the device directly, so there isn't any problem with latency now. I am really hyped for these now, need to work harder next month to afford them instantly :D
@@paddipat dont buy something if you need a 1 month of hard work for it dude.... it seems really expensive for you. wait until you financially stable
@@randyburhan2745 Nooo it's no problem, next month we get extra salary for working more hours than we're supposed to work due to much work in company but not enough workers - just the bonus salary alone will deliver these buds to me :D and i will have have finished my exams in university by end of the month, so no problem with that as well.
Lol latency. Wireless audio sucks.
These might replace my Sp700n, which are great!!
I tried the first version of it an as great as they sounded the connectivity was a problem. This is definitely an improvement but it appears it doesn’t have wireless charging and sweat resistant
Omg I was so excited for them but no water resistance is the deal breaker! I wanted these so bad. 😭
Does it support LDAC or aptx HD?
AAC
In my opinion, the direction that you can lay the case, and the volume isn't doesn't play a factor for me. Sound quality, battery life, and the ease of storing/ accessing is what I look for
Probably good for on a plane, a lot more comfortable and hair friendly than a pair of headphones. The thing with sony is their price just tanks after a year so probably not worth it at the full retail price
Just got Powerbeats pro, not a problem at all, good range can use with apple and android, good battery life....only thing is that case size but not a deal breaker.
You didn't talk about how good (or bad) the noise cancelling is...? Does it get anywhere near the over-ear versions?
I’ve been using only Sony earphones since I could afford them back in the early 2000s. The few times I try to switch to the ‘latest’ models with the best tech from Bose or Jaybird I just end up disappointed and switch back to Sony. I’ve been waiting for this buds and I can’t wait to get these along with next phone. (Been using my 6s plus for 4+ years now and I really need to upgrade, still not decided on my next phone tho)
Just got a Walkman from Sony yesterday, Sony definitely has great products just need to market it well and lower prices and be more innovative and they can easily overtake Samsung
Over take samsung in what?
You comparing Sony sound quality to the crap Samsung quality? We buy Sony for sound not for lousy sound.
Sony owns Samsung since ever ! Japanese quality electronics and don’t sell fridges and white goods lol .
T’s Life sony makes fridges for the indian market
Hey David. Great video man. Just one question. How does it stack up against the Sen Momentums?
Does ambient sound mode preserve how we hear sounds differently in our left and right ears? E.g., if you have ambient sound mode on, and a car passes by on your left side, is the sound of the car more prominent in the left ear bud or equally as loud in the both ear buds?
Some earbuds with an ambient/transparency mode made sounds equally loud in both ears which is kinda disorienting and isn't as useful for situational awareness.
how do we connect them to our cells music feature? Bluetooth or wifi coupling? And how do we couple them?
Made in Malaysia. Where most of the high quality electronic device and component in the world were made. Sold.
And i know who design it... He from penang
SONY had been making high quality headphones long before 80% of the people reading this have been born. I'm surprised Sony allowed beats to grow as much as they did.
Raul Almanzar very very true! Sony has unbeatable dominance global share in pro studio use headphones and recording artist headphones for many many years. The legendary MDR series. Not many ordinary consumers know about this.
For these earbuds, yeah.. they need to be bigger for that signature Sony soundpackage, but if you buy audio file earbuds (not pods) then you connect it to a high quality amplifier and you cannot get any better sound, but on the flip side.. they are of course wired😁
Latency? (yes it's still a thing, last year's had terrible problems)
How well do they connect to Apple products?
In terms of earbuds vs headphones, how do the noise cancellation compare?
David, Thank you for great videos. Would love your thoughts on the aipods 2, Sony or powerbeats pro after using them for a while now. I have used airpods 1 and 2 since they came out. Love how easy they are too use but they don't cancel it enough noise for me. Need to cancel our taking, traffic and fans. Heavy apple ecosystem user. But open to something better if interface is user friendly. Love to hear your thoughts. Thank you.
Thx as always for your AWESOMELY done videos. I think everyone appreciates that price perspective you passed along to Sony.
I’d like to piggyback and say with the recent releases of Sabbat, MEE audio X10x, Creative, etc... at 60% of the cost.... yikes!
Sony will have to nail every feature. Not necessarily exceed, but at least be feature rich. (Wireless charging)
Touch feature vs having to press is awesome btw. (Gesture vs having to press, ambient noise... sweet!)
But it’s all about that sound as well. The lower costing names have truly stepped it up.
Once again. THANK YOU for sharing. Looking forward to the next video.
For that price it's unacceptable to not be waterproof, and not being able to adjust the volume from the buds is a big deal. Guess I'll stick with my 2 year old Bragi Dash Pro that has everything these do, waterproof, can control volume, and more.
No APT-X. (especially APT-X low latency ) For this price I would expect. Why not implement this codec in product of year 2019 (also no LDAC is implemented) ? Then I would buy (also for some Euro more)
Obviously the quality of the music is probably one of the most important things when it comes to price but I cannot imagine how much better it is at canceling noise versus the Samsung Buds. But, I'm waiting for Unbox Therapy to review
Would love to see a more compact design.
How abput implant earbuds
What sold me on the beats pro was the gym usability, such a shame these are standard buds, can't stand these while doing anything besides sitting still
I hope you can turn off the auto pause feature when you take one out, I actually found it annoying on the Powerbeats pro( which I returned but if you want workout wireless buds get those iOS or Android)
I much prefer the galaxy buds method of just turning off the earbud you take out instead of both, they do auto pause if you take them both or the single one you were using.
If you wanna swap ears you just put the other one in before you take the one already in out then there's no interruption. Awesome buds (for both OS) for podcasts 😃
Funny how younger people talk about Sony as something new. When they where the only brand to go to for mobile music back in the 80’s and 90’s.
Funny how you pretend Sony was the only one making mobile music back in the 80s and 90s. Wrong.
What is the brand of your glasses?
Sony’s naming scheme is just out of the world
Have you ever tried sabbat E12? Those are amazing for the price. Great review by the way.
Always honest reviews with Dave. Thanks as always.
