He only worked on the first two episodes of LOST, and if you think Damon Lindelof improvised the end of LOST you'd be sorely mistaken.
Also JJ was able to film something despite not having a completed script. He's a legend. Plus he's probably also referring to his earlier career making TV shows because many many TV shows don't have a finished script before shooting, and are heavily improvised.

1:55 Awww I think Stephen was really moved when JJ complimented him on his work at The Late Show. It wasn't just some empty boilerplate compliment, it was specific and genuine and accurately pointed out the amount of pressure Stephen faced having to fill such large shoes, but it's also well deserved as Stephen is indeed doing an amazing job and has brought the show to new heights. I never watched The Late Show until Stephen started hosting it.
No it was empty. Jar jar Abrams is an emotionless robot who has no real feelings. He's just in PR mode. A real man never gives a comment like that in that manner to close friend. It's all fake plastic smiles and smoke and mirrors with that guy. That's the problem.

ABS - Gaming - Yes, 7 was a great film. I also liked Episode 8, but definitely not as a Star Wars film and NOT as a story - the writing was awful. It just had a few good moments. JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy were still heavily involved in the script for the movie. JJ Abrams has been trashing fans and the fact that he's done already means he has NOT been observing the fan's reactions to the last movie. The story is not going to change from Episode 8 - so now what? JJ Abrams cannot fix the issues with the last movie. Maybe I'm wrong but I have ZERO excitement for the next movie.

I actually love the new Movies and don’t get caught up in the politics. SW is pure escapism for me and I have always loved it. More SW movies, if well made (which they are) are always a fun time for me. I had so much fun in Episode 7 and I for the most part liked Episode 8. We hadn’t had Star Wars in 10 years after Episode 3 in 2005 and now they’re giving us new stuff, and everyone’s throwing a fit.
And I have arguments as to why people are wrong about the common complaints of the new movies.

Sorry JJ, but I have absolutely no interest in your Episode IX. The Sequel Trilogy had so much potential but yourself and Rian Johnson have completely fucked it up. This trilogy cannot be salvaged. We will continue with a poor story, poor characters, and lazy writing. And I don't dislike the Sequel Trilogy because of women. Some of my favourite Star Wars characters are female. But they aren't Mary Sue's. They have great arcs, great character development and actually aren't perfect. Saying anyone who didn't like Episode VIII is threatened by women is grossly inaccurate, and insulting to a big part of the fan base.

Return of the Jedi'e production budget was $30 million, and it cost almost three times as much as the first Star Wars movie, because of the obvious expanded production costs, effects, etc.
Imagine what you could do with $300 million dollars lol that's like an astonishing amount!
Things like the US Navy's nuclear powered aircraft carriers and submarines cost around that much to build.
To spend that much, just to make entertainment, (especially for a guy like me who's never even SEEN more than a few thousand in person lol) that's just crazy.

Snoke was actually a poor old man who was being possessed by Darth Plagueis, who discovered the secrets of immortality, and Snokes death was all part of Plagueis’s plan to get a younger more powerful host body.

Turns out the weird milk Luke was drinking caused a weird hallucination.
Nope
- luke on the island (except yoda scene, see below) was either a locally projected hologram or an imposter/actor put there to screen people who found the map
- luke w/yoda was actual luke, being frustrated that anybody who gets to the island isn't who he is looking for and yoda just reminds him of the goal behind this idea
- so, luke is still alive and at the true jedi temple in the outer rim
- this explains why the luke on the island was not so powerful or came across as weak
- similarly, snoke did this trick in the throne room to "complete ren's training" and make him think he is the most powerful, to free that shackle. snoke goes back into hiding (btw, snoke=plageius)
- scene with luke in true jedi temple and force ghosts of yoda, windu, etc discussing whether they think snoke has been truly killed, but likely not because they didn't feel it in the force
- meantime, X years have passed and rey has gone off to train, fin thinks it is back on the island so he goes to get her for the next big battle
- instead, he finds the luke projection/imposter who treats him similarly but finn passes the initial screening and the imposter directs him to the true jedi temple (where he will be trained by luke and others who survived the kylo destruction+ghosts),
- fast forward Y years and finn leaves luke training, swearing to keep it secret; luke+ trying to set a trap to reveal if snoke is truly still alive or not
- ... TBD,
- rey and finn start to fight snoke and ren, but are barely holding their own...then, door opens and luke appears "I've finally found you snoke, today, there is no more running away and hiding"
- huge battle ensues
- luke, rey, finn, snoke and ren in a crazy lightsabre battle lots of force moved/etc; eventially luke force-pushes finn and rey into a escape pod and launches it
- luke fights snoke and ren alone for a bit, then does a crazy force thing where he absorbslighting attack uses it to dissoves in a flash of light and envelopes ren and snoke, causing huge force explosion
I'm very excited, I have great faith in JJ Abrams as he did an phenomenal job on 7. TLJ I liked enough, but 7 was amazing so I'm very excited about 9.

Why does everyone think he's just gonna rip off Return of the Jedi? The reason The Force Awakens is so similar to A New Hope is because J.J. decided to go the safe route to bring fans back to Star Wars. Now that we're back, he can now go in a more original direction.

The Mysterious Gravity Falls Person : Jar Jar Binks (useless annoying character ). JJ Abrahams (useless director who ruined Star Wars ). Jar jar Abrahams a word play on the two .
But Abrahams didn’t “ruin Star Wars” Lucas did by making Jar Jar and the prequels.
The Mysterious Gravity Falls Person at least the prequels were original (allbeit Terrible acting and scripts ). The music was better , original planets , spaceships and locations , much better bad guys and great light sabre duels . The farce awakens was just a lazy rehash which completely undermined what the original trilogy resolved . I speak as someone who watched the originals as a 7 year old and also the prequels as someone in my late 20s. For me the farce awakens wasn’t even lip service to the fans . It was a wasted opportunity .

Solo will be the first Star Wars movie I don’t see in the cinema. Ep 9 will be the second. After TLJ I am done with Star Wars.

Chris Terrio a genius?.... as a DC fan, I was very disappointed with Batman v Superman and Justice League, which were written by the so called “genius”. Good luck with ep9! Ep8 was a good movie that was unfortunately in my opinion riddled with storytelling malpractice.

I get the Original vs Unoriginal, but the fans love the new characters and they are very invested. We saw how invested they were when they didn`t get answers. It just bothers me how the fan base is so polarizing.

It's a difficult choice to make between JJ and Rhian. On the one hand, Rhian made a film that had gorgeous visuals and great acting, but a plot with more holes than Swiss cheese. JJ made a film that was beautiful and had a fairly logical plot, but was pretty unoriginal and mostly rehashed Ep.4, and some of the acting was a little wooden.
I feel like if they worked together on Ep.9 it would be one of the best films ever made. One's weakness is the other's strength.
Joshua Shamshak I actually prefer Rian Johnson's direction as opposed to JJ Abrams' direction, I love the last jedi more then the force awakens, and I think that the problems with JJ is that he plays things too safe, and Johnson takes risks that make the film better, he risks conflict with his actors and co-workers to get his vision fulfilled, and he seems like a true fan that wants to make something new out of the franchise, and that's truly commendable.
He is a incredible and talented director, I love his movies ❤And I can't wat to see ep. 9

Yes! They devalued every character, starship, the Resistance/First Order, the Force, the entire franchise just to have a few scenes and make some points.

Diamant, the story is TLJ far surpassed any nonsense you'd see in a fan theory. TLJ cleaned up the plot and now we have a fantastic dynamic of Kylo and Rey and the rebirth of the Resistance - along with the message that you don't need a royal bloodline to be special

Super agree. It shouldn't be a shocker that you have a script a couple months in advance. This is the biggest franchise ever. you should have had 3 freaking scripts when you first decided to make the movies. Maybe if they didnt 'fly by the seat of their pants' the stories would be more cohesive and actually make sense. Every plot point from TFA was just dropped so that TLJ can add a couple Saturday Night Live gags
