I visited London this past summer, and I saw these two. Wow! I thought both of them did beautifully - I wish people would stop comparing. We know how wonderful Idina and Kristen are but really now. I loved how zany Dianne was when I saw the show; I couldn't help but laugh all the time when she cracked a line. Alexia was great; she was really convincing to me. So overall, loved these two. (:
Wow! I would've never guessed that so many people found Dianne annoying. When I first saw her perform I couldn't help but be amazed by her comic timing and her delivery. She's easily the best Glinda in my eyes, nobody has managed to come close, except for, maybe, Kristin Chenoweth herself and Megan Hilty.
I haven't heard much of Dianne, but I like how she's serious in the beginning. She definitely creates her own interpretation and while she's not as zany as other Galinda it is refreshing to see such a different take.
Di has been in SO many musicals in the UK. She was Belle in Beauty & the Beast, was in TABOO (the Boy George musical), Raquel in Only Fools & Horses, and lots more. She is currently playing The WIcked Witch of the West in Wizard of Oz at the Palladium.
she isnt necessirily leaving according to the website - it just says cast subject to change from 29 march, but she may well extend her contract so be prepared if she does and its not her last show and you have tickets :)
yeh definitely :) that was the official wicked website, and on wikipedia it says shes currently contracted until that date (i know wiki isnt the most reliable) but i cant find an actual statemtent anywhere on the web that she is leaving :)

The way she is acting and sounds is the stereoptypical version of rich posh spoilt british brat, and it is supposed to be an annoying voice, sort of the same as the American steretype version of the popular homecoming queen type girl that a lot of the American Galindas act like. It works perfectly for the British version of a Galinda
this isn't the west-end stage, therefore the actors don't have mics and no need to project, so of course its going to sound different. dianne is simply too funny to ignore, she really loves this role. alexia's fantastic as well (despite just sitting there, saying two lines and not doing much)
diannes not the best in my opinion but seriously shes not that bad - she is a leading lady in the west end so she cant be too bad can she! go see it NOW!

Totally agree. She absolutely brought the best Glinda energy and utterly nailed it. And yeah, her comic timing was utterly perfect.

Dianne is my fave ever Galinda but....bad end note. She didn't get it. Poor Dianne. :( Rest was excellent though!!
Dianne breathes too loud and she's sounds like a 11 years old girl. i don't and never recall that Glinda was around that age
