I've been struggling with slope intercept form and graphing it for years ! I'm a high school senior and I'm an honors student. Everything in math has always pretty simple for me; expect for slope intercept. I had an epiphany while watching this video . 😂 So thank you for making this video !

A lot of math is used everyday like percents, fraction, equal ratios. Slopes of lines are important to understand for pitches of roofs, road grades, proper flow of water lines. You can model a lot of real life data in statistics with linear regression models. Some math, you will never see the application of until you move into higher math, like how Calculus brings motion into algebra and then a whole world of engineering math opens up. You may just use the logic skills u learn in math class.
I never actually understand in class when the techer talks about this stuff, but NOW it actually makes sence.

(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = m or slope. This formula calculates the change in y over the change in x between two points...otherwise known as rise over run. Since lines are straight this slope is constant. You will get the same answer for slope regardless of which two points you use for a line (linear function). Thank you for watching and your support:)

You already have your equation solved for y. You want to set the equation equal to 0 and solve for x which would be your x intercept, if so replace y with 0. As far as graphing, you are already in slope intercept form so your slope is 1/4 or up 1 and over 4 and your y-intercept is -1. Thank you very much for watching and subscribing. My textbooks don't use that terminology, but searching the Internet make me think the explicit form is what I call slope-intercept form y=mx+b. If that is correct, add 4 to both sides, subtract x from both sides, and then divide each term by 2 to isolate the y.

exspain to me problems like 3x+2y=-2?! no one is teaching me how to do this correcly and how to graph!!!!
When putting an equation in slope intercept form you isolate the term with the y first, so subtract both sides by 3x and get 2y=-3x-2. Then divide by 2 and get y=(-3/2)x-1. Your y intercept is -1 and your slope is -3/2
