- Abandoned Brownstone Tavern - Toledo, OH. Enjoy a look at this former restaurant and tavern across the street from the abandoned Boston Market I just did a video at. This place has a nice fish pond outside. I sure hope the fish are okay and taken care of. Building looks like it could be repurposed into another nice family owned and run business. Hope it does!

My dad knew the owner.He had the business for many years and wanted to retire.Sold to some people with not much restaurant experience, they lasted just a short time.
I'm 54 and this has always been Brownstone Tavern since I was a kid. I'm reasonably sure it originally was a Burger Chef back when they were still around.
Those dive bars usually have the best food too.

Used to go there a lot with my parents back in the early-mid 90's. There used to be a shuffleboard table along the western wall that my sister and I would play around on.
When Dale and his Dad owned the place, the food was so good!
A bit of research - Facebook page is still up. Looks like the place closed sometime in 2022. The food looks great. Mmmmm, prime rib.

My grandma Nancy worked there for a long time until she retired. She unfortunately passed a couple of years ago. If you went here and remember a waitress named Nancy please leave a comment I would like to hear.

when i was still in high school i worked at a golf course and they had a pond like that , never did feed them and the fish lived from year to year , i guess eating bugs that might fall in the pond...come on Wallie, there's always room for Big Boy ...😀

Hey wallie, I love watching your channel and I’ve been paying attention to places near me that are abandoned, within 20 minutes of my house is an abandoned hooters, Pizza Hut, Boston market, Payless, Sears, and a Sam’s club, as well as a repurposed Lowe’s and Kmart that you can tell were not always what they currently are, im sure im missing more, if you’re ever looking for a new place for content, the capital of Michigan has tons!
That’s true. I live in Michigan I see abandoned buildings about every day.
I ate at that Big Boy on Reynolds road in Maumee several times.
I have a pond a pretty nice size one that one small but nice and the fish if your wondering are called Red comets very hardy fish and my fish eat bugs and what not I do feed them pond stick pellets but they just stay out there in the winter freeze solid then thaw out when it gits warm like nothing happened fish do not have feelings they will freeze solid and then start swimming again when warmed up crazy ain't it...

I’ve eaten there a couple of times. They had good hamburgers. Not sure what it was before, but Brownstone was there for a long time!

It closed due to owners retiring,last I heard it's supposed to be torn down and a Culver's is rumored to be built there.

You are right. It was a Burger Chef. When Wallie was in the front of building I was starting to think Burger Chef. When I saw the roof yep it was a Burger Chef.

Very nice video something you don’t see every day. Hey wallie I was at the mall of Monroe in Monroe Michigan. And there was abandoned Target which was a former hills department store. Target closed in 2015. Then there was a Sears that closed in 2011. Then Taco Bell. Hallmark and more. I hope you have a chance your self to go film the mall. I posted some pictures of the mall on my instagram page. Just an fyi. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video like always.
There's also an old abandoned Kmart near there as well. As far as I know, unless another business took over.

Wallie, I think that you just stumbled across an old Burger Chef. I was starting to think that when I saw the front. It was when I saw the the roof I was sure.They were the one that created the flame broiler. Burger Chef was second in size to McDonald's. Hardee's/Carl Juniors bought them out. They hold all the rights to Burger Chef products. The ones in the Phoenix area They closed. At that time, Hardee's was here. No more Hardee's now Carl Juniors. I only know of two Burger Chef buildings here in Phoenix Arizona that are still around. Both have been repurposed. There's one about two miles from me. It's a chiropractor office.

I unfortunately predict that this restaurant will be demolished rather than repurposed. If my prediction is correct, then I will be a bit sad because I like that architecture.

Only time I went in there to eat was with my Grandma who is now passed away I didn't know it was abandoned. Why are they all abandoned now😭
They had the best burgers in town until about 2 years before Dale sold it. He changed his meat vendor and the bun and that ruined his burgers. We stopped going there then.

Abandoned Sporting Goods Store across the same parking lot in Toledo Ohio.
Dick's Sporting Goods. Before that, it was a Builder's Square hardware type of store until the late 90's.
The abandoned Dicks is going to become a Michaels soon.
They started developing in that plaza now.
