omg it looks super easy but at the same time i have absolutely nooo idea how to proceed can somebody pls help!? I don't get what to do with the measurements she doesn't explain
Okay, so the initial chain number doesn't really matter if you need to change the size. The number of chains it takes to reach your measurements is all that matters. If your dog has a short neck, for example, you may only need 10 chains, or even 5. If you have a long neck boy, like a greyhound, you may need a longer initial chain of 40, or even 50. Just make as many chains as you need to reach the length you want. The stitch doesn't require a specific count, so it is an easy to change pattern! Good luck!
i used this with a double crochet for my boston terrier (who hates thick fabrics) and even though the measurements were a little confusing, you eventually get the hang of it by just continuously testing it out on your dog! he absolutely loves it, especially because his legs aren’t restricted. thank you!!
It would have been nice if you explained how you utilized the measurements for different sizes. It is a very easy pattern, though, and your dog is adorable.
agreed. I see where I cold have done some things differently. I appreciate your feedback, and thank you for watching! (Also, I am always working to improve my videos, and constructive feedback is helpful, so thanks!)
OMG!! I love him!! It definitely will bring a smile to anyone's face. My 12 year old son LOVES chihuahuas. I'm very, very new at crocheting. I've only made a few items, but my friend asked me to make a doggy sweater for her weiner dog. He's 15 pounds. I don't have his measurements, but this one looks like it might work for him if I add a few rows onto it. Wish me luck!! 😁💜🌷
Good Luck Karie! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to leave such a sweet comment. I hope it works for you to make one for your friends Weiner dog!
I can't wait to make this poochie sweater, but I couldn't find what size crochet hook to use for this project. Did I miss it somewhere?? Please let me know...thanks...and can't wait to get started!
I absolutely LOVE the way you draw! It reminds me of the classic winnie the pooh drawings! LOVE it! You have to make a drawing book, just like what you are showing, for crochet! I would buy it in a second. Unless you already have one? I'm new here and just subscribed! Sweater is so cute! I think I even have the same color scheme in one of my yarns! Adorable!
I'm new at crocheting things other then afaghans and slippers. You crachet so fast I had to keep rewinding back to when you said how many each one was. Thanks for doing video my dog looks so much like thunder. Your a good artist too.
I’m going to watch some vids and figure out the measurements for my lil girl. I NEED to make this sweater! It’s ADORABLE and OMG Thunder is the CUTEST!! What a model!😍🐶
Thank you for the tutorial! I have a question (maybe I missed this) - the initial chain length is based on which measurement? I'm finding it hard to map my cat's measurements to the instructions. Thanks in advance!
I have a Pom and Shitzu and have tried numerous patterns which just haven't worked out well for me. I hope to give this one a try. It looks like it will work for them. I will let you know how it went. Thank you for all you do!
I'm not sured what I've missed but as video is a speedy one I can't visually follow and from the captions it hasn't ended up like yours lol, dunno where I've gone wrong, I think as the captions are over the video, I can still see the speed crocheting in the background and it gives me migraines
I really want to make this pattern but i have no idea how to make my measure ments into this pattern?? I have my dogs size but you didn't explain how to to use these measurements, Any chance you could explain this to us please???
Thanks for watching Linda. If you take a moment to watch my other doggo videos on the channel, I tend to explain those things and hopefully clear up any confusion around measurements. Hope that helps. Have a wonderful day
Im really confused on how the measurments apply to the design, im trying to make one for my Golden mix who is significantly larger and needs a lot more stitching than whats going on here and i cant figure out where to plug them in based on what was shown.
how cute, I'm not usually a big fan of small dogs but Hes adorable... anyways, i have a chubby yorkie and a chubby Australian shepherd (dad's fault for feeding them human food) i don't feed them anyways, how do you measure for medium to large or bigger!
I'm a beginner and i just could not follow your tutorial. If you can be so kind to make a step by step video foryour next doggy sweater it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
How did Thunder get his name... that's adorable... i never blocked before can i use an iron to block instead, just seems like more work than other projects!
yes you can use an iron, but make sure to pin, or hold the piece in place to stretch it out to the right size :) Also, Thunder was already names when we fostered him, then fell in love and adopted him :)
My chi LOATHES doggy clothes, but I feel like if I make him something soft and well fitting, he will be just like Thunder and be excited for new sweaters!
I really love this pattern! I just tried it with your stitches and rows. It does not fit my chi sadly. Do you think it would be possible for you to show how you applied the measurements to the square pieces?
Thunder is adorable! My Dixie girl measures the same as Thunder...isnt that cool!! So I'm gonna make one on purple. Thank you so much. Btw...I have 4 more to make for my grand puppies. They are all a little smaller. Your the best! This such a quick and genius design. Blessings!
I fail to understand the point of making a video if you are going to speed thru the actual visual part so dang fast that it makes it impossible to even tell what you are doing. I'm sorry but this was NOT helpful at all for me!
Not everyone has great editing skills but they do what they can. I m thinking her main point was to show how to take the measurements and then it s a single crochet so not much else to explain. But it’s a great quick pattern.
I just loved your lil model,, thunder is too adorable!! please show more videos last sweater I made for my dog came out to tight for her she gains weight some times.... LOL ;)
I know I'm a couple years late to the party here, but I've got questions 🤦🏻♀️ You show how to take all the measurements but then don't explain how to utilize them (like what measurements are used to determine what portion of the sweater). I think I could kind of figure out everything except how to start it, as I'm pretty sure the first rectangle you make is the full length of the sweater, but how do I determine the length with the turtleneck fold (which I believe would be the length of your initial chain). What measurement is used to determine the width of the initial rectangle before you branch off into the two other rectangles (as in the amount of rows before you start forming the L)? Or am I totally off base on what you did? These things definitely could have been explained a bit better in terms of how to adjust for the size of your dog. I mean, I get it makes sense to you (of course it would as it's your pattern) but to others it may (and seems to be judging by comments) be a bit more confusing to others without this information. You didn't even include hook size or yarn weight 😅 I did find it in the comments though. I love this sweater in theory, but I have no idea how to utilize my pups measurements to recreate this 🤷🏻♀️
i crochet for my two dogs. my chihuahua has lots of clothes i made and she is the same color your dog is just slimmer and female. my doxle is beagle size. i have to measure him as i make stuff. he is hard to fit. big chest and long weinerdog body.
Thanks for the kind words Robyn. That's like totally a bummer. Maybe try to speed up or slowdown the video? I'm not sure tbh. I've just rewatched it again and I can still follow along. Having said that... I do have other videos on dog sweaters on my channel. Perhaps take some time to watch those and you may find one that is useful. Happy Holidays!
Lifesaver! My thanks! Also makes a great cat sweater! Keeps his glucose sensor in place nicely!
omg it looks super easy but at the same time i have absolutely nooo idea how to proceed can somebody pls help!? I don't get what to do with the measurements she doesn't explain
Oh my goodness! This is a great project for the dog pound pups for Christmas
Really like the video Just wish you would have explain how you converted the measurements to chains the sweater build cause now I’m a bit confused 😭

@@LastMinuteLaura yeah... but what is it measuring still? Like are we talking about back of neck along the back?
i used this with a double crochet for my boston terrier (who hates thick fabrics) and even though the measurements were a little confusing, you eventually get the hang of it by just continuously testing it out on your dog! he absolutely loves it, especially because his legs aren’t restricted. thank you!!
Thanks for sharing!
How do you adjust the number of chains and single crochets for dogs of different sizes?
It would have been nice if you explained how you utilized the measurements for different sizes. It is a very easy pattern, though, and your dog is adorable.
agreed. I see where I cold have done some things differently. I appreciate your feedback, and thank you for watching! (Also, I am always working to improve my videos, and constructive feedback is helpful, so thanks!)
