This is a great video thank you so much unfortunately one of my mom's dogs had to get her front leg amputated so now I'm making her a sweater just -1 armhole this has been a very easy pattern to follow
I just finished it. It’s the first thing I crocheted and it was so easy to follow along. Me and my Maltese loved it. Thank you so much for the tutorial ❤
Thank you so much for going slow and showing up close the details. I have a hard time understanding tutorials like these because I’m very much a beginner and things that are obvious to most are not to me. I really appreciate it. I was able after a few try’s to successfully make a sweater for my pup. I can’t thank you enough.
can't believe i was able to make one! thanks, the explanation was super clear. I've been shying away from anything more complicated than a granny square, but you've made it so easy!
This is amazing... took me about 4 hours... my dog is TINY.... its little baggy on the underside cos i didn't trust my measurement and moved it out when you said "my dogs a bit floppy" because mine is built weird as she's a cross with mini Dachshund... so her chest cavity is quite wide. But this was wonderful and quick and easy. She's sleeping in tonight and tomorrow i'll make it perfect THANK YOU
Thank you for this tutorial I made this for my dog and he loves it. I recommend that for anyone who wants to try, keep trying it on your dog for sizing, trust your measurements, you got this!
Making this for my jack russell chihuahua mix, she hates cold but also doesn't love sweaters right now, I just hope she'll get used to them more so she can be nice and cozy
I've watched several videos on making dog sweaters and yours was one of the best. Your instructions are very clear and you slow down and show how to make the stitches. With that said, I have made two sweaters, an orange pumpkin and a Christmas. Ty so much for sharing! Blessings!
Purchased your pattern and just made this sweater for my Shih-Tzu!! 🙌🙌🧶🧶🙌🙌 Made a few adjustments due to sizing like you suggested and it is absolutely PERFECT!! Jet LOVES it & so do I……he’s adorable in it. 😊🐶😊🐶 Thank you so very much!! 😊🧶🦋💜
@ Thank you!! 😊🧶 I posted it on Ravelry with pictures as a project & rated your pattern as well!! It’s on the “Project Page” within your pattern now so you can view it. Great JOB Erin!! Thanks again so much!! 😊🧶😊
To avoid excess tying off and weaving in: For stripes every other row, carry your yarn up with you. No need to tie off every row. Snip and tie in the color you're not using to finish the back. For the end of the belly area, rather than tie off, slip stitch to the second marker, then start your back and forth back section. Also, don't be afraid to use a chunky yarn and big hook, especially for larger dogs. I made this for my 50 pound old boy in a couple of hours with a bulky 6 yarn and an M (9.00 mm) hook.
Thank you for this, I have been looking for an easy pattern with a video getting at the age where I am easier confused So simple, my dogs will love these
Cute pattern & very similar to a pattern I've made before. The only change I made to those sweaters was a 3rd opening on the top to allow for the dog leash to attach to their collar.
You've honestly inspired me the past few years to freehand crochet and make my own patterns sometimes lol Thank you for the inspiration and for this pattern 😅
Amazing video, thank you for making it! I love how you clearly show each step and explain how the different stitches are done. I started this having never done any crocheting before and it was super easy to follow
Ive been looking for a simple, modern crochet dog sweater pattern and this is so easy!! Love the color changes and subtle pattern, super easy to follow, cant wait to make this for my two pups!
I love this-thank you❣️The only thing I changed (besides adjusting for size) is I didn’t change the color for that first round of SCs once the ribbed part is joined together. Crocheting on the edges of DCs is challenging even for an experienced crocheter-it always looks uneven and higglety-pigglety-so I kept that row of SCs in the same collar color, did another SC row using my alternate color before starting the DCs of the body, and the result looks like a more even transition. Your video is so well done-so much easier to follow than others I’ve seen, and the shape allows for easy size adjustments…am halfway through this for a pup that doesn’t live with me so it’s my test… another reason why I like this-quick with easy directions! Thank you again ❤
Don’t, cats hate sweaters unless they are in need of warmth like sphinx cats. They sense it all over their body, like with their whiskers. It’s not comfortable for them, but of course all cats are different, and some may even like it
Can't wait to make this for my lil chihuahua pup. It's super cold out, and as a result he hates going outside on walks! Maybe this will help. Thank you !
@itserinb I did finish it!! Fit not the best...very wiggly maltese mix did NOT want to be measured...LOL. I can't figure out how to add a photo, but she wears it ok, good thing about to get VERY cold here in Houston!
Love how you explain how to make this pattern this is the best pattern I’ve seen thank you so mush do you have a small si for do you just use a bigger hook thank you so very much
Ok so I’ve only been a daily gotta crochet since 2019. Learned as a little girl in group homes in the middle of the night. Only been using UA-cam tutorials for between two to three years. Tonight I said to our dogs I wish I could get them some sweaters soon. All of a sudden tonight for the first time ever a person is not heard of yet pops up with this tutorial. All of a sudden a light bulb goes off I haven’t looked up anything for animals and only made a comment about dog sweaters too our dogs in front of my husband. Grateful this popped up from private conversation all the same❤
Isn't this strange? I often remark Big Brother must be listening 😊when things appear after a conversation. Bizarre 🤔 This is a good tutorial, I'm hoping to crochet my pup a jumper.
Just saw this tutorial. I have a pup ( well, 9 yrs old) was told he was half pom and half chihuahua but as he grew older looks more like a breed of terrior. Bout 21 lbs but looks like the size of pup in your tutorial, so im gonna try one for him. Thank you for this tutorial and your way of showing the work. Stay safe and I will be back. 😊♥️🙏🏻🧶☺️🌻♥️🧶
This is adorable, I’m a beginner and l have been following you and working on a few projects. I have a Yorkie and I’m definitely going to make him a few of these sweaters because we live in Michigan and it gets cold here in the winter months. Thank you 😊
Thank you 💕 so much for taking your time crocheting and explaining everything,my Schnauzer is going to look awesome in this sweater ( Orange and Black) it's October and we're in Indiana so it's chilly out..❤❤
After the neck ribbing I increased 1 every 4 stitches like you, and the sweater gets baggier on my dog as I continue adding rows. Is there a way to kind of cinch in the excess / take in the size an inch or two as I continue the rows? I've tried skipping some stitches on the underside but it's not really working. Is there another way to make it smaller? Or do I have to undo it all and increase 1 every 5/6 stitches in the first row after the neck ribbing to make it smaller? Any suggestions are welcome!! Thank you so much.
the increase is a general starting point, if it’s too baggy you can frog and work the increase every 6 or 8 stitches, or even less if necessary ❤️ OR you can work the increases on row 1, and then no increases starting row 2 ☺️
Hi, my dog hates putting a sweater on, so I wanted to know how I need to change the pattern, that there is a slit at the top so that I can make buttons or a zipper for easier dressing. Could I just not crochet the neck band to a circle?
Beginner crocheter and new subscriber! Will try to make this for my pup! Do u have a video for easy blanket with a classic (but modern as well) masculine pattern that my college son would like? Thank u!
Beginner here, I’m gonna try this but I’m trying to view the pattern, it says it’s private now? Can you please make it available? Thank you! Also, any way you can make a separate video showing down your double crochet decreases? I’m just learning and I’m not sure I got it right. Thanks again.
I don’t have Aran weight currently will a DK be fine? So happy u made a tutorial for this btw! Your tutorials are always helpful and I practically learned from you.
The tutorial is amazing!!! However, mine is getting increased, like it kept getting bigger instead of staying one size if that make sense?? Can somebody explain why mine is keep getting bigger ???? Or where I am doing wrong??? Plzzzz😅

I appreciate how slow you go and how well you are showing each stitch
This was an easy pattern for me to crochet. TY. If I knew how to attach a photo, I would. My baby boy loves it.
can't believe i was able to make one! thanks, the explanation was super clear. I've been shying away from anything more complicated than a granny square, but you've made it so easy!

Me and my chihuahua are going to rock matching sweaters things to you. Making this tonight!!
Oh that would be adorable!! 💖💖
Would be cool to see both your sweaters 😅
Making this for my jack russell chihuahua mix, she hates cold but also doesn't love sweaters right now, I just hope she'll get used to them more so she can be nice and cozy
I'm doing the same for my jack russell chihuahua mix!!
Hey me too!!! Lol
Mines a chiweenie but he's got a naked neck and belly! Hoping he will like a sweater!
@@cathoderaytube8 awww, I really hope for you too!!
hahaha my cocker is not the biggest fan on sweaters but she’s about to be with the East coast winter coming up 😅❤️
Thank you so much for making this video!
My sweet pup is so warm and distinguished looking in his new sweater🐶❤

@ Thank you!! 😊🧶 I posted it on Ravelry with pictures as a project & rated your pattern as well!! It’s on the “Project Page” within your pattern now so you can view it.
Great JOB Erin!! Thanks again so much!! 😊🧶😊
ive made 3 sweaters with this pattern now, so easy to memorize

This was an easy follow along tutorial. I was able to make a slightly larger version for my friends, Frenchie. Thank you
I love the tutorial! I just finished my sweater for my dog and she looks adorable! Thank you!! ❤

This is my first project and I am so happy, it's a success. Thanks for this wonderful tutorial
This was a very fun project!! I followed along easily and love the outcome! Thanks so much!
I just got a baby Chihuahua and she's always craving warmth! Gonna do this while she lays in the hood of my hoodie lol Thank you ♡
Cute pattern & very similar to a pattern I've made before. The only change I made to those sweaters was a 3rd opening on the top to allow for the dog leash to attach to their collar.

I wish I could make this for my cat but she would try to kill me if I tried to put a sweater on her lol
But this would look so cuuute 😂
It would be worth it though
My kitten loves her sweaters

When you decrease, do you chain one and flip your work over??
This a great tutorial. 😊 the sweater was easy and fits perfectly, thank you.
❤️❤️
Excellent instruction. Thank you.
I love love love this! Thank you so much for this tutorial! I’m working on mine at the moment while while watching your video! ❤️❤️

Thank you 💕 so much for taking your time crocheting and explaining everything,my Schnauzer is going to look awesome in this sweater ( Orange and Black) it's October and we're in Indiana so it's chilly out..❤❤
Thank you for your wonderful and kind comment ❤️❤️
Beautiful! :)
thank you
Thank you. I am making this for my dad’s dog.
Making this for my sausage pants, thank u so much Erin!
I can’t wait to see it one day!! 💖
I love this dog sweater pattern ❤ thank you
I’m definitely making this for my cats lol ❤ thank you so much for the pattern!
Ooh can’t wait to see! 💖
Great tutorial it’s been fun to do but I’m stuck at one part, how to I attach a yarn for when we start decreasing? It’s at 17:04
Wrong thing* Do a slip knot then continue as usual after putting in the right place
Wow - thank you and I love the color combo!
Thanks!
Can you make a tutorial fir your top??
After the neck ribbing I increased 1 every 4 stitches like you, and the sweater gets baggier on my dog as I continue adding rows. Is there a way to kind of cinch in the excess / take in the size an inch or two as I continue the rows? I've tried skipping some stitches on the underside but it's not really working. OR you can work the increases on row 1, and then no increases starting row 2 ☺️
Did she chain one before she flipped it? Or how did she start the next row after the decrease?? I’m kinda lost
Hi, my dog hates putting a sweater on, so I wanted to know how I need to change the pattern, that there is a slit at the top so that I can make buttons or a zipper for easier dressing. Could I just not crochet the neck band to a circle?
Can you use thicker yarn?
Beginner crocheter and new subscriber! Will try to make this for my pup! Do u have a video for easy blanket with a classic (but modern as well) masculine pattern that my college son would like? Thank u!
I like the video. What is the width and length of your dog. And weight of your dog?
I am a little confused starting row 3. Did you turn the work inside out again?
Im confused at 18:35 when we decrease are we cutting off our yarn every time and then reattaching at the stitch mark?
Beginner here, I’m gonna try this but I’m trying to view the pattern, it says it’s private now? Can you please make it available? Thank you! Also, any way you can make a separate video showing down your double crochet decreases? I’m just learning and I’m not sure I got it right. Thanks again.
Look out December ( Red and Green)😊
this is nice
Thank you! Sadly it keeps bunching up on my dog, does it need to be tighter or looser?
About how much yarn would it be for a medium size dog?
We've got a dog that looks like "old yeller", so she's a hound mix - - - and pretty big! She IS big, so should I increase every third stitch???
Gonna try and make one for a cockapoo
You got this!!
Love it ❤
Thank you 💖💖
Gonna try this in a bit with my tiny girl. But I've got 6 little Chihuahua Yorkies so I've got my next crochet project made out for me. Hahaha
this is so cute! i wanna make it so bad
I can’t wait to see it! 💖
Is there a reason why you did a single crochet for one time around after the initial neck rim? I’m just learning. 64 and brand new at this.
That's called a turning stitch, if we're thinking of the same thing. I'm new too, but it's basically so you can make the new row.
Thank you for sharing.
❤️
❤️🔥❤️🔥
I don’t have Aran weight currently will a DK be fine? So happy u made a tutorial for this btw! Your tutorials are always helpful and I practically learned from you.
Yes DK will work! You will just have to create a slightly longer chain, and will have more rows compared to me. Same steps though!
Do you chain at the end of the decrease for the next row?
Yes!! We still need the CH to start the row!
4:55 I gotta save my spot bc I gotta sleep
Thank you 😊
you're so welcome!!
Thank you I have 5 dogs med size to outfit❤❤❤
How did you connect row 2 to start row 3? Im guessing you did a slip st. I love this tutorial and im making it for my pup! ❤
I think so?? Did that work for you?
How does the sizing work?
The tutorial is amazing!!! However, mine is getting increased, like it kept getting bigger instead of staying one size if that make sense?? Can somebody explain why mine is keep getting bigger ???? Or where I am doing wrong??? Plzzzz😅
How many increases should I do for a dog that is 24" around in girth
How do u reattach the yarn to start decreasing?
I’m having trouble with that part, did you figure out how to do it?
Would this fit a malteses size dog, i want to make this for my fur baby but I don't want to make it and it end up being too big for him
This is a made to measure pattern, so you can make it as big or small as necessary ❤️
Thank you so much for replying!! 😊💜💜
I'm making this for my Goldendoodle
Can’t wait to see it!
I'm making one for a labradoodl. On the increasing. How many dbl crochet did you make b4 you did an increase? I've never made one for a big dog b4.
I love the matching top! Did you use your raglan pattern as a base?
Yes I did! You have a good eye 🥰
@@itserinb it’s so cute and athletic! I thought I might make something similar, but I don’t think I’d actually be able to figure it out 😂
hello, i’ve started on my sweater already just to realize my circle is twisted. i don’t know how to explain it but part of the circle is twisted
Does it fit for a cat or do you need to size it down 🤨
It’s made to measure! So you can customize this to fit your kitty too 🥰
@@itserinb Thank you Erin❤❤
of course! let me know if you have any other questions :)
@@itserinb ❤
need a pet so i can match with it so bad 😭 so so cute!!
Or you can crochet an amigurumi pet and match with it 🥰💖
@@itserinb OMG such a good idea 😭
