- Canopus Lake Beach Shelter (mi. 1430.1) to Telephone Pioneers shelter (mi. 1451.2) Finally got to use my headlamp! Did the last 2 miles tonight in the pitch dark. We had planned on tenting at Nuclear Lake, but there were a bunch of NO CAMPING signs there so we had to move on to the shelter. It worked out great though because Solar got back on the trail today after visiting with his sons in New York City, and is camped here tonight. I hadn’t seen him for a few hundred miles. I have absolutely no clue what tomorrow brings at the moment …
Todays menu: Package of pop tarts, package of energy chews, 2 honey stinger waffles, a Gatorade protein bar, a bag of freeze dried strawberries, 6 large slices of meat lovers pizza, 5 fountain drinks of Sprite/Ginger Ale, a Kind bar, an energy bar, and water with Gatorade powder mix.

Chaffing, ticks, and no ice cream. The dreaded toils of the AT. Babyblue’s favorite thing to do is night hiking. I loved going as long as one could without turning on the headlamp.
