After 4 years of freelancing, this has been one of my biggest struggles of figuring out. Time management, self discipline, and setting priorities is huge!
I'm usually terrible and skip the comment section of youtube in general.. this thread is my turning point. Nothing better than your family being proud of what you do.
I tell you, Dan, you're inspiring. You make me drop a tear at the end. Be yourself! I'm 28, still working towards getting to the height of my career as a filmmaker since things are not the same out here. But man I can't stop coming back to your channel. God Bless you! Sansa Loves you so much
Just discovered you and man am I glad I did. You're possibly the most likable person on youtube who makes the most beautiful videos! I have never been more motivated to take the leap into becoming a filmmaker after watching your content. I have a question, what kind of rig or set up do you have for your 1dx? Stay genuine and humble, keep up the great work!!
At the end of your video, that speech just hit me. Im so afraid of my future and that i wont make it and everything else just runs through my head on a daily basis, just terrifies me, but just hearing a complete stranger say that they believe I can make it and that they believe in me really means something to me. Thank you.
My favorite breakfast food... Crepes with fruit (strawberries and peaches), whipped cream, maple syrup (the real stuff... not artificially flavored), and on the side I like scrambled eggs with a hint of vanilla extract. It's a kind of rare treat for our family to make them but they are AMAZING (the crepes and the eggs)!
I've been a freelancer for two years, now about to turn 24 and I completely agree it's such a special thing to have and definitely shouldn't be taken for granted. You owe it to yourself to maximise on the opportunity by holding yourself accountable and setting targets and schedules for yourself. Amazing to see another filmmaker using the block out method and waking up early. I try to go to bed for 10:30 and get up between 5am - 5:30am, annoyingly though if I miss that window then it completely ruins my day haha. The key to freelancing is definitely a solid routine!
Dude this is so inspiring! The production quality is insane. I’m a 14 years old boy from Germany and this video motivates me so much to just follow my dreams and become a filmmaker in a few years. Thanks man😊🙏
Dude you’re an inspiration! So glad I found your channel as a 23 year old who’s Photography & Filmmaking business failed because of COVID you’re motivating me to keep going with it! So thank you! Thank you very much Danny!
Man, I love that you’re from PA it shows that I can make it, currently a film student and can’t wait to graduate and start working all the time, and for this quarantine to be over, but you are a serious inspiration and you put out such quality content keep up the great work and please stay real and humble makes you’re videos so enjoyable. Oh side note love the D.A.R.E shirt serious nostalgia I Got to either find my old one of find a new one.
Great work Danny! I just found your channel this afternoon on your "Become a Freelance Filmmaker in 10 steps." And I may say your content is not only professional, but is equally relatable as well. Keep it up man, A+ in my book.
my brotha! the pure fact you had the patience to watch this video through means that you actual have what it takes to get there.thanks so much for tuning into this!
Just thought I’d drop in and let you know my professor introduced me to this video today. I just switched my major to film at school and started full time at 33 years old. I really love your outlook on life and the way you structure your day. I, too, am a very health conscious person, both mental and physical, and when you said you grab your phone first thing in the morning and jump on social media my first thought was “well that’s the first thing I disagree with here”. But then I kept watching you. I saw the authenticity and that you are free. I actually may start looking at my phone when I first wake up because I want to instead of not doing it because I read it was a bad for your mindset somewhere. You’re doing exactly what you want to do and you are energetic, happy, and you are free. It’s clear that you are in control of your internal state and that’s great man. I can relate to all of your other routines as my day looks a lot similar to yours (well, before I decided to go back to school full time while keeping my full time job in insurance and being a full time husband/father of two lol!) and we have a lot of similar routines and beliefs in habits. Thank you for making this.
My favorite video so far and i LOVE the love that just pours out of you and send it to us the viewers with so much inspiration and peace, i dont know theres something about your videos that puts me at ease AND i learn a ton thank you brother you are AMAZING and i love you
As a 23 y/o who has been officially shooting freelance full time for about 6 months now, I REALLY needed this video. Seems so obvious but until you hear it, it can be hard to realize how tough time management can be for us. Also, that ending made me real happy. Great stuff as always Danny, thanks
Loved how genuine and sincere this video felt compared to all the morning routine bs you see out there. True discipline comes from sincerity and respect to oneself. Love you too!
Awesome! This is pretty much my routine and my new favorite channel. I like the one on one, talking to a buddy feel. Also I like that being freelance means that I have to be creative. I came up with all sorts of ideas and short film ideas and outlines with this damn virus hanging around. But, it’s always darkest before the dawn! I appreciate you brother.
Danny every time i so excited getting notification of your new video. Thank you for great mood and big inspiration. It looks like documentary, and so interesting and fun to watch. Appreciate your work, I am such a big fan of it.
I'm not crying, you're crying :') Just discovered this channel and oh boy, I'm so keeping up with it from now on! So inspirational and amazing content!!
"Just being able to listen to people high up in your industry talk, you're going to learn something every single day" Well why do you think I'm watching you lol
Having a routine gives us a sense of freedom and I love that. Another great video man, always look forward to watching your videos on here. Keep up the great work of inspiring us.

Thanks for letting us into your life! So interesting seeing how you break up your day, it’s super different for me. I love leaving my nights to relax from 6pm. But I do love breakfast as much as you 😂 Also love how you said we often beat ourselves up more than we realise, we need to give ourselves some freedom to have fun which helps us to be more creative and productive 🙌🏼
Love the inspiration man. I'm 23 watching this and i've come to a time in my life where im going to make my work with photography and film making my life. I'm 1 year sober today and it really feels good knowing that doing this kind of thing is possible and seeing you do it and the advice you're giving me has really inspired me to do the same thing. Thank you for this video man i really appreciate your hard work on these videos because they've really given me inspiration and dedication to do what i want and love to do!
Initially I thought this'd be a pretty standard video, like a regular day in the life video, you know? But dude you're just so genuine and motivating, it's really nice to see someone do something different on UA-cam and be themselves. Good going my sir!
I really cannot understand how you are not above the 500k subs minimum. Your work is extremely awesome! Keep it up man, you are doing very good! Greetings from Argentina
First of all, I have watched this video 5 times already, Danny. Love the work that you do. As a filmmaker myself, I can tell that it is so hard to STAY ON TRACK when you're working for yourself. I try to follow a routine but a lot of times I go totally off-track. I should be more working harder.
And we love you too!!, thank you so much for this that your doing, it's hard to find this quality content, specially when it comes to personality, you're like just yourself, if that makes sense. I really appreciate everything you teach us with each video. We all hope you do well in business and life, I mean... You already are but... even better
This was a real look into your life. Wish you could also know me as much as I know you now. Not just me, ever other 30k+ people. I promise I'll start a routine.
As a full-time photographer and filmmaker, we do the exact same thing. I have someone with three kids, my dog is so jealous of your dog. I love this peek into your life. Keep up the good work, maybe one of these days you’ll inspire me to get out of bed
I love this! you definitely have your time dialed in also love how self-aware you are! I just took the leap of being a full-time content creator and time management has definitely been a struggle and I keep going back to the drawing board to best do time blocking and not gonna lie seeing your process makes me feel way better! you give yourself a lot of time for yourself and intentional blocks of time to work. Definitely going to try this out for myself and if I remember *adhd brain* lol ill let you know how it goes!
Great advice! This is what I’ve been struggling with the most, I’m married with kids and without a strict schedule I can easily find myself doing a little to no work on any given day. Thanks for the video.
I have a pretty similar routine. The two chunk pf work times is the best for productivity. It took me long time to figure out I should do this. This will be great info for new freelancers
This was probably the most down to earth and relatable routine video I have watched. May have to try some of it! I'm thinking taking my dog on a walk every morning is a good place to start.
I enjoy all of your video! I have always wanted to make films but can't decide what camera to start with. do you have any recommendations for a beginner film maker? I can't decide between Sony, Canon, or Panasonic. thanks again for any help you can give me!
Danny just subbed, been watching a couple of your videos and I love the work and quality you put into the vids! Keep up the great work. Also where do you get that amazing hat, I need one!
Hey Danny! Just happen to click on your channel coincidently, I've got to say i really really love your videos, your sincerity. I'm 23 this year as well and I hope that one day I'll be able to make it like you :)! Don't lose the fire and pls stay safe..! Cheers!
Love your stuff man! This was a great one and pretty much the pieces I'm missing right now are getting back to my fitness and more healthy routine. Easy to let it slip!
Thanks Danny, this was so awesome and inspiring, I'm gonna pick up a few of your methods here😄 The last part "look at us running around with cameras" spoke to me so much and gave me such a rush of happiness and gratitude as I realized how grateful I am to be doing this. Lots of love brother!
Nice routine man! I really liked the ending with the message to not run yourself over with work! I've been doing my that for past year and a half working 9-5 as an in-house filmmaker for a company plus doing freelance stuff on the side - I learned a lot for sure but it's not sustainable haha :D Going freelance in 2 months to really focus more on creative work and cinematography and after watching this I definitely have to find my routine for that :) Keep the videos coming mate, love your attitude!
Yeah dude it can probably be tough to balance with a 9-5 grind as well. Excited for you to open up to the full-time freelance world. It can be a whirl! Thanks for watching dude!
I don’t normally comment but I really wanted to reach out and say your UA-cam channel has made such an impact to me! I’ve been watching since 25k and you have inspired me in so many ways! Thanks for all the inspiration!
Another great video and was so interesting looking in to your day. LOL@but think about me stretching in the shower, so funny. Ive been making a checklist everyday for 20 years and they work really well, enjoying the journey along the way is as equally important as achieving your goals. Loved the intro as well, Danny you're nailing it with your videos, you've come along way and will continue too, you just love life mate. Love you too, take care both you and Sansa :)
There's a little icon next to your name that says youre my highest rated commenter. Haha thats amazing. Awesome to hear that the checklist method holds up! Thanks as always Peter!
Maan ... This video makes me feel so good that I am not the only one who has such a chillax daily routine. Our days are very similar with the exception of that big bowl of salad 😂. But I take my dog and a good 8-10km walk a day. Even though my channel is about My Frenchie it’s not my main business, but it serves big part of my life. I am a freelancer photographer as well ( Krammphoto.com ) so it’s good to see that my lifestyle isn’t far off from other creators as well. Great video man! I love watching your content!
“Should I be vlogging and driving...the answer is no, I shouldn’t be..” that made me laugh out loud lol...awesome seeing a look in to your routine. Thanks for sharing bro!
Why do I have the feeling I just procrastinated my whole decade from 20 to 30....? Working my ass now to become a full time freelancer in Tokyo at 34-37 years. Thanks for videos like this it keeps us motivated.
Thanks for sharing, brother! I'm about to step into that freelance/solopreneur world end of this month, so here we go! Agree with you on the self-discipline part. haha
This is so dope, love the authenticity man
Ayyy thanks so much man. Haha im trying

I enjoy all of your video! I have always wanted to make films but can't decide what camera to start with. do you have any recommendations for a beginner film maker? I can't decide between Sony, Canon, or Panasonic. thanks again for any help you can give me!
id start on a lower level canon personally! anything that shoots 1080 at 24 and youre good!
I love it, my guy this make me wanna do my first schedule and be more productive
Thank you dude! Haha do it!
Cheers!
Thanks so much Zayn! Appreciate it a ton!
This is inspiring and you seem like a genuinely nice guy. Keep up the good work :)
Great video! Motivated me to time manage myself (which I'm terrible at)
haha its a big priority! Thanks for watching!
Glad i got you to comment man! Thanks so much Andrew!
@@DannyGevirtz LOL@Icon, not surprising I always knew I had a big mouth. lol
Thanks so much man!!!
Super great content, man! Thanks
Thanks so much!
Bro your humor lately is on another level 😂 loved this bro !
haha I try to keep it entertaining. My face isn't interesting enough
Beautiful!
Thanks so much!
Love you mahn!! Need to put checklist thing in my schedule too... I guess
Haha give it a shot! It seems minuscule but it goes a long way!
“Should I be vlogging and driving...the answer is no, I shouldn’t be..” that made me laugh out loud lol...awesome seeing a look in to your routine. Thanks for sharing bro!
haha i was like why the hell am i doing this right now. Honestly might never vlog again. I hated it haha
Why do I have the feeling I just procrastinated my whole decade from 20 to 30....? Working my ass now to become a full time freelancer in Tokyo at 34-37 years. Thanks for videos like this it keeps us motivated.
Man! Love the way you make little things worth a story. Thanks for all the tips, can you tell me again the podcast that you follow ?

Thanks for sharing, brother! I'm about to step into that freelance/solopreneur world end of this month, so here we go! Agree with you on the self-discipline part. haha
