    Thank you for this post. At one point I was keto adapted but then I started eating carbs, then eating keto. Thank you for saying "It's all or nothing". I am all in now! I remember what it was like when I was adapted. I know I can eat this way for the rest of my life. It's time to get serious! I hope you feel better soon. Thanks again

    Keto is not a diet but it's a lifestyle. It's not to be used for Weight loss. Weight loss is the side effect of keto lifestyle. I used to be 116kgs and type 2 diabetic with HbA1C at 9. After I got into keto lifestyle, my HbA1C dropped to 5 , gave up meds and insulin shots. The side effect to it was weight loss ( about 35kgs). It took me a total of 8 months to drop to 5 HbA1c. The best part of keto lifestyle is I don't have blood sugar spikes even if I eat desserts once in a while.

      Yes you can say that but most of the people are using it for weight loss. Might as well call a spade a spade :)

    • @kevzzz1186

      Excellent and thank you for sharing. A proper diet is always a lifestyle. I can make Keto meals all day long but for me it is hard to maintain a lifestyle of Keto Diet adding macros and all that. Instead I stick with Intermittent fasting and that works for me. I still love Headbangers Kitchen for his EXCELLENT recipes and entertaining channel. Love him so much I bought his T-shirt for the bacon bomb.

    First of all I'm sorry you are not feeling well and I wish you a speedy recovery. Thank you so much for explaining about ketosis. You didn't go on and on, instead you got straight to the point. You have a voice that I could listen to all day and I find that the information you give seems to sink in better.

    Sahil...take a bow and go to the head of the class. You have done us proud with your presentation.👏👏👏 I have very low tolerance for wheat as I have aged so it is better for me health to adopt this lifestyle. I think many people see videos of great weight loss and think of it as an easy diet..whereas it is a Lifestyle change with weight loss as an added benefit.

    The Keto word is spreading but I agree that the message is getting lost and watered down. People are always looking for a quick fix this a “diet.” Great explanation and you broke it down well. We will join you in spreading the Keto lifestyle message versus just a diet. Great job!😳

    Lose weight in a month? It's a lifestyle. I got on the bandwagon June 19 2017 and I've lost 105lbs since then, 37lbs to go and I don't anticipate ditching it after that.

    One of the biggest things people always bring up to me when I tell them I'm on keto/intermittent fasting and it's how I've managed to lose close to 40lbs and get off diabetic medication, is "what about starvation mode. doesn't your body store more when you eat less?"
    I tell them it takes more than just this to really trigger starvation mode, and that starvation mode is a bit understood. You have to be completely not eating and completely depriving yourself of an energy source to kick into starvation mode.

Total 160 down from pre keto 230 . A very sustainable, healthy way to eat. lots of avacado, lots of nuts !

    Here is what no one seems to realize, as humans, we are adaptable. The human machine is an incredible piece of equipment, and we can adapt. We can run on sugar and carbs, we can run on pure protein, or we can run on fat. Running on fat and protein, for most people, is going to do much better for the overall health and maintenance of the machine. The only thing is just watching overall calories in general. 4,000 calories of anything will make you fat, no matter how healthy. Adding in resistance training on top of all this can further refine the machine, but you get out what you put in.

      ftbsecret I've been Keto since October, so 4.5 months. The Doctor thought my test results were fake because I was at risk for everything in the book and now everything has been corrected and better than average. I am quite shocked. I'm not a carb, calorie, or weight counter. I just know what is okay and eat what I want of it. Life is good.

    • @HKKetoRecipes

      Nope it's got fructose in it which is sugar which is why the tea gives you energy. The weakness you are feeling is just the keto flu, it will pass and you can help sort it out by getting in your electrolytes.

    Hello, So I want to start the Keto diet for loosing weight and to feel healthier. I have hypothyroidism and depression (which I take medicine for both). The truth is that is a bit overwhelming to research about it, how do I know If I am starting it right? anyway, my main question is what happens if I start keto and then 1 day I eat normally. I have the menu tasting for my wedding in a week and I want to start keto today! but I am worried that if I eat normally for the tasting all of my efforts will be in vain. should I start today and just continue or wait one week (obviously eating healthy) and start keto after the menu tasting. I ask this because according to the research my body goes into ketosis and if I start that and then I give my body a bit of everything it will go back to regular krebs cycle.

    I started my keto diet when i got injured from bike accident, apparently i got a cracked bone on my left knee. Was at bed rest for 3 months. Last october 19 i met with accident, on december 1st i started the diet i wad 98 at that time. 1st of all FATS are really great for body recovery, i was bed ridden for this month too. Believe me or not within the month of december i lost 10 kgs, i was already in a journey of weightloss (started at 116 kg) exactly at 1st jan i was at 89 kg. Majorly i had was loads of brkfst Almomds 10 pieces, prunes 6 pcs, walnut 5 pcs as breakfast with black coffee, lunch at 3 or 4 pm and dinner at around 9 pm, i tried almond atta and always had paneer, patta gobi and phool gobi sabzi as iam pure veg. Sticked to this for 1 month for atta go for ketofy atta its best just try for 1 month. My vitals when went for a checkup were great hemoglobin was 12 and protein was actually higer, and thans to all those fats and calcium in cheese and paneer i recevered quick, glowing skin and great energy daythrough (great energy is what you will feel literally like you are always ready to work not at all lazy). All in all i can say being a vegeterian anyone can do keto diet. I was not having sugar and for munchies i ate salted peanuts 20 grms approx and manchow or soya sticks that too only 1 small cup of 100 grms. If you have a month goal try this i guarantee you healthy weightloss.

    Cool video, I wanted to ask,How does a high protein keto diet affect the body ( say workouts for building muscle mass) . Or can i consume a little bit more carbs to help me with my workouts but still maintain a keto diet? Like to know your thoughts on that.
    Thanks

    • @HKKetoRecipes
      @HKKetoRecipes  6 років тому +3

      So we don't know how high protein is too high. I would say just eat a calorie surplus to build muscle and don't go to carbs for anything while on Keto.

    About keto being sustainable long term, just look at Stephen Phinney and Tim Noakes. Those guys not only research keto but have been eating like this 10+ years.
    And vegan keto is totally possible, but it's a bit harder (since it's way easier to get fat from animal products). Unnatural Vegan made a few videos about this that I feel ok to recommend, and even tried herself (for like a week xD). Talking about vegan, I find it so weird that most vegan youtubers just thrash keto diet 'cause they think it's a carnivore diet or something similar.

    • @ftbsecret
      @ftbsecret 6 років тому +4

      Yeah most vegan youtubers don't care about facts, they make up their mind and then twist everything to fit their narrow viewpoint. I hate how they trash Keto based on lies and misrepresentations.
      They mostly make it sound like its some form of modern Paleo, but there is a huge diff between animal proteine focus and fat focus, my keto is vegetarian pleanty of days, and most other days I have salmon or tuna. :-)
      I just wouldn't do without eggs, no eggs makes Keto very dull lol

    The funniest thing I saw, was a "keto-promoter", which told that one of the biggest mistakes of keto is not to consume carbs for a time longer than two weeks. This isn´t even enough time to adapt. With such misleadings, it´s no wonder that some people are confused. Same with amount of protein, ect.
