I think you nailed it - the story doesn't have nearly the emotion it does if she doesn't still love him and he doesn't still love her. I always find it fascinating how genuinely guilty she seems that she never told him that Pei Mei had taught her the technique, even though the secret saved her life probably. It's such a trivial thing to feel guilt about in a relationship, like if you won a scratch-off lotto ticket for $100 and bought something just for yourself and didn't share with your spouse.

She didn't want to scare her daughter, which is why she had that moment alone, in private.

Earlier in Bills explanation about the 'truth dart', he says the only after effects are a sudden rush of euphoria...this is what is happening to her on the bathroom floor. That is why she is laughing and crying. When mothers give birth they are often hit with a sudden rush of euphoria. David Carradine (Bill) had a very distinctive voice. Back in the '70s he had a TV show called "Kung Fu" in which he played a Shao Lin monk in the old west and he made a flute like the one in this movie. He was a master of martial arts and helped people. When Kiddo hears the flute music she suspects it's coming from Bill outside the chapel.

The whole family was glued to the telly just basically gobsmacked all the time. And my copies went through the whole firm as everybody wanted to borrow them to see what all the fuss was about. Needless to say, upon returning the DVD I would get a knowing smile or a 5 minute recap of all the unbelievable scenes they saw 😄
A small tip: Put in the description or mention at the start of the video if you had different subtitles on or technical isssues or you'll be answering the same questions all the time.
If I may make a suggestion: Cinema Paradiso from 1988
A love letter to cinema. With music from Ennio Morricone. Quite long depending on the version and you have to be in a certain mood to get past the first half hour or so because it's a slow starting, european drama. The wikipedia explains the differences and the plot entry can be skipped so as not spoil it.
But if you love movies and cinema it's definitely worth watching. I'm not sure if it would make a good react video however.
Anyway, thank you for the entertainment and I look forward to discovering more of your content.

@@artdeco64 I've never said it was a big spoiler or something that will completely ruin the movie for her, but don't talk about movies she haven't seen yet. It's simple decency and common sense in the comment section of *a reaction channel* . You know? A channel which benefits *from going into movies and TV shows completely blind* so, that way, the reaction would be the best it could be. She doesn't need fun facts of a movie she haven't actually seen, even if that bit of trivia is not a massive spoiler.
Besides, you telling that Jules will say something at the end of the movie spoils that he will be alive at the end of the movie. Simple as that, "chief". Be a little more humble when someone tells you that you did something that wasn't necessary.

Get off your high horse. I don’t know if she’s seen Pulp Fiction or not. And even if she hasn’t, what I mentioned has nothing to do ruining her reaction. I’d be like saying at the end of Rocky Sylvester Stallone yells, Adrian! Oh Jesus, can’t watch the movie now!
Besides, now it will add to her viewing, if she hasn’t already seen the film, because when they mention Caine she’ll know who that is and, during her reaction video, can be like - Oh, that’s Bill. How cool is that?
Instead of possibly reading about it later and not being in a reaction video that all can see.

Here is a list of the main Tarantino movies, he doesn't have a lot, but that is his plan, he only plans on doing ten major movies during his career.
    1. Reservoir Dogs
    2. Pulp Fiction
    3. Kill Bill: Volume 1
    4. Kill Bill: Volume 2
    5. Inglorious Bastards
    6. Django Unchained
    7. The Hateful Eight
    8. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
This is not the full list, but ones that I watched and consider to be the greatest.

There is a detail in this film that only very few viewers noticed and that is that, at the end of all the credits texts of the technical team that worked on the film, the list of the "Deadly Vipers" reappears and their names begin to be deleted but the name of Elle (the one-eyed girl) remains with a question mark, with which Tarantino slyly leaves the idea that she was blind but alive and at some point would return for her revenge against Beatrix which would eventually open possibility of a third film for this saga.

Don't know if you noticed but the snake that the one eyed woman (Daryl Hannah) used to kill Bud was a Black Mamba. Black Mamba was Beatrix Kiddo's (Uma Thurman) code name as a member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. So, in a way, Beatrix did kill Bud.

These 2 movies were pretty amazing. The outrageous violence somehow worked and the movies would not be as good without it. Uma Thurman did an amazing job. I loved that she didn't kill Black Mamba just left her with no eyes. So glad you watched and enjoyed these. I recommend Pulp Fiction and From Dusk Till Dawn.

Fan fact: Beatrix didn't actually kill anyone in second movie, she even spared Bill in the final scene, they played act in front of the daughter. Tarantino leaves a lot of clues that Bill stayed alive. So the genius of this film plot is that everybody believes that it is all about revenge but actually it is all about forgiveness...)) that is why Uma Thurman's character kills only in the first part of the movie!

He's brilliant in that he was the only American movie maker that borrowed from anime, kung-fu movies and westerns style to tell his stories... even using famous actors from those genres in this movie. But you'd hafta have grown up watching these or studied specific cinematic / regional eras to recognize all of the references.

You see, Magy...you got answers to your questions! And the film went in a direction you didn't expect! I'm glad you liked it! A couple of interesting facts about this one...(It's kinda long, sorry about that!)
Two actors in this film had roles in the previous film. Michael Parks played Esteban Vihaio in Volume 2 and Texas Ranger Earl McGraw who realized that Uma's character The Bride was still alive in Volume 1. Gordon Liu, who is primarily a Hong Kong-based actor primarily in martial arts movies played Pai Mei in Volume 2 and was Johnny Mo, the leader of the Crazy 88 in Volume 1.
Since 2004, when Volume 2 released, Quentin Tarantino has teased that there might be a 'Kill Bill, Volume 3', and there has been a lot of demand for it by Tarantino fans. Most theorize that it probably wouldn't be called 'Kill Bill, Volume 3' because the focus of the story might actually be on the little girl Nikki (who saw her mom Vernita Green get killed by The Bride) going after The Bride on her own for revenge. But, no script has ever been finished and Uma would also have to agree to flesh out a story and agree to play The Bride (aka Beatrice Kiddo) again. The character of The Bride and the bare bones of the story was conceived by both Uman and Quentin as far back as when they made 'Pulp Fiction' together. Enough time has passed for the little girls who played Nikki and BB (Uma's daughter) to become adults...IRL, Nikki (Ambrosia Kelley) is 22, and BB (Perla Haney-Jardine) is 23, so even if they don't use Nikki they can use BB in a different way as well. Also...Quentin Tarantino has publicly said he's probably going to make only another 2 or 3 films before retiring from filmmaking, so we may never get this possible film.
These are both some of Quentin's greatest films (and all of them are great, really)...however, I personally think 'Jackie Brown' is his absolute best, which he adapted from a novel called 'Rum Punch' by Elmore Leonard.
Thanks for the great reaction once again. You should really do all of the films directed by Tarantino! There are not very many and all are of exceptional quality! I think you'd really like them all!

Tarantino makes movies, not stage plays. You see the whole range of what a movie can be, mixing different styles and paying homages to old directors he loves and scenes that were stapled to his inner brain when he was younger. And his movies are not realistic (i.e., blood spurting was overdone purposefully) but stylized in a way that can only be film. It's art, for sure.

Loved your reaction, Magy, ❤️even from 2 years ago. It’s very similar to my own reaction from 2011. Yeah, Tarantino is quite s unique filmmaker. One of my favorites if his is Death Proof from 2007 I think about a pyscho women killer named Stuntman Mike. Don’t worry, the ladies get even on him in the end. By the way, Uma avoided Tarentino for a long time after Kill Bill b/c he forced her to drive that little Carmenghia car without proper brakes and she hurt her back. Not sure if they’re back on speaking terms again.

  • @Cobalt-Jester
    @Cobalt-Jester 3 роки тому

Yeah, you're right it was supposed to be 1 movie that was about 2 and a half hours long. Uma got pregnant so Tarantino decided to extend both movies and have them as 2. One movie being more action orientated and the second being more story driven. The first one shot more like a Eastern samurai movie and the second more of a western. And like I said this all came about after Uma got pregnant during the making, Tarantino took the parts they had shot and kinda changed it up. This is all explained in the special features and commentary. I am a huge fan of the Pie Mai character. You can see him in loads of old movies. But his portrayal in this movie is by far and away the best. I wish there was more of him. I know why it doesn't show it from a movie point. But you'd think it would show her being able to punch through that 2 inch oak block like he does. He teachers her the 5 point blow, but as that's his master move you have to assume she'd learned to do the 2 inch punch. But we see in the coffin she hadn't learnt it it took her a good few goes to get through thin wood... But.... All this shit can be explained away with movie logic and I'm fine with that.

Kill Bill Vol 1: Beatrix kills everybody in her way to Bill.
Kill Bill Vol 2: Beatrix kills nobody but Bill.
That blew me away when I first realized it. She literally says it in her opening monologue: she roared and rampaged, and now she only has to kill Bill. Another subtle masterstroke by Tarantino.

and choosing Morricones music from Leones good bad and ugly... perfect choice..
Can tell Tarantino wrote kill Bill with Morricones music heavily involved..
As if the film was written around it..
