Very happy you reacted to this absolute cult classic, Magy. This film does NOT get enough credit. My favorite monster movie ever still looks pretty amazing even 20 years later. The Werewolves are the best design and so are the Vampires, Frankenstein's monster is also amazing wish more movies/tv shows did e'm like this, criminally underrated.
In Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, The monster / creature was not named Frankenstein he was the creation of Dr. Victor Frankenstein. So when they say Frankenstein‘s monster it is the doctor that is actually the monster not the creature he created. So in this movie the creature was represented properly which is not always the case. Also I don’t know if you got the reference of Gabriel being the left hand of God, When they mentioned this in the movie and you find out who Van Helsing truly is. Van Helsing is the Archangel Gabriel one of the three archangels god.
Van Helsing: The London Assignment, is the animated prequel to this movie. More with Jekyll and Hyde, and why they're in France at the beginning of Van Helsing.
I like this movie :) It's no masterpiece of scripting, but it's a lot of fun to watch, and you can tell the actors had a blast hamming the hell out of their roles XD
Some more unique takes on monsters: Werewolves: Dog Soldiers, the Ginger Snaps trilogy Vampires: Near Dark, Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter, The Lost Boys And for a hilarious comedy break: the classic Young Frankenstein
Magy, have you seen the original Universal monster movies, from the 1930's, 40's and 50's? Those are so classic and creepy! Universal Pictures created the Horror genre with those films. People were freaking out when they first saw films like Dracula (1931) and Frankenstein (1932)!
Fun facts about this movie is that van hellsing is the human form of the arcangel gabriel one of the most powerfull sons of god, thast why he can see the gate of heaven and anna, the dude was a half angel werewolf what a sick combo.
This movie while not a huge blockbuster is defiantly one of my favs. I found it so unexpected and entertaining. I also have to say I just stumbled across your channel and j have really enjoyed your work. Can’t wait to see what you review in the future
4:15 "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" is another classic monster that has become part of our modern mythos, like Frankenstein and Dracula. Some say he was the inspiration for Dr. Banner / the Hulk.
Some works of fiction also presume that Jekyll/Hyde is the historical Jack the Ripper (a well known but never caught serial killer in London in that era).
God, do I love this movie. I remember it best as the #1 movie that scared me the most when I was a little kid (specifically, the scene where Van Helsing transforms for the first time scarred me for life), and I had no idea what movie it was from until I got older. It wasn't until I was about 17 when I finally sat down and watched the movie in its entirety and I freaking LOVE IT. The negative reviews are way too harsh on this one.
More movies I think you might like- The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Constantine, and An American Werewolf in London.
I think it's important to note that the reason Frankenstein is "good" is because he had that copy of the Holy Bible to study during his time in hiding. He's a creation, like every child, and he was handed that book as a stroke of luck to help mold him into a good person. I think that is the explanation considering they made it a point to show it.
Magy, if youre looking for suggestions for a good show to watch, i have afew. 1 - for supernatural shows: Supernatural, Van Helsing, Bitten. I highly recommend Bitten first. 2 - for science fiction: The Orville, which is also a comedy, Battlestar Galactica 3 - and finally I think you might like Smallville
Elena Anaya , the blondy - laventer eyed , Godess , vampire bride , Aleera , she 's the most badass fem villain in a film ! Great opposite of Kate Beckinsale ! Anna Valerius ! And another fact ... That film had the most badass soundtrack of cinema history , composed by the one ... Alan Silvestri ! Composer of Volcano , Back in the Future series , Contact , Polar Express , The Mummy Returns and Cast Away films !
Yeah, like... at the very least, it's disappointing given what I feel it should've been (with an interesting concept, and both Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale who are good)... I can understand enjoying a "bad" movie: Con-Air is always my go-to example for how a movie doesn't have to be "good" to enjoy it, because that movie is *so* stupid... but fun and silly. Or even movies that aren't as fun, but have cool scenes, or cool ideas even if the rest of the movie surrounding it lets it down. But I didn't really see this movie as that. I've also seen a couple "League of Extraordinary Gentleman" and "Hansel and Gretel" recommends, which... didn't expect that. "Underworld" however... not for me, but I get how that could be enjoyed as a fun, dumb movie [series]. "Hellboy" ditto. "From Dusk 'til Dawn" is a very good choice, I think; should be right up Magy's alley, given she seems to like Tarantino and it's a great example of a fun popcorn movie. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" I totally get too; "Penny Dreadful" I've heard good things about but it just didn't grab me. But I get the appeal there; it's good, just not for me. Although I'm not sure how much Magy wants to put on her plate, she's already watching so many other tv shows.

I also recommend the lost boys another vamp movie and the howling series up to 4 only.
I have a feeling she’d really like The Lost Boys.
Whoever recommend this movie is a genius
Iv watched this movie like 2000 times
Van Helsing: The London Assignment, is the animated prequel to this movie.
More with Jekyll and Hyde, and why they're in France at the beginning of Van Helsing.
I like this movie :) It's no masterpiece of scripting, but it's a lot of fun to watch, and you can tell the actors had a blast hamming the hell out of their roles XD
it certainly isnt, a master piece, some of the writing, is its biggest flaw
Some more unique takes on monsters:
Werewolves: Dog Soldiers, the Ginger Snaps trilogy
Vampires: Near Dark, Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter, The Lost Boys
And for a hilarious comedy break: the classic Young Frankenstein
l LOVE this movie, . . dracula, werewolf, frankensteins monster AND mr hyde, beautifully stitched together, love carl and all the accents
The first time I saw this movie, when Adam [Frankenstein's creation] first cried out "why" at the windmill, I swore he was about to break into song.
Almost forgot, this movie came out AFTER Kate Beckinsale became a vampire in Underworld one year later!!! Post-2003 era!
Magy, have you seen the original Universal monster movies, from the 1930's, 40's and 50's? Those are so classic and creepy! Universal Pictures created the Horror genre with those films. People were freaking out when they first saw films like Dracula (1931) and Frankenstein (1932)!
The girl is the total badass in the trilogy, Underworld!!
Yeah I really loved it too. The visual effects were awesome.
oh my god i never tought i gonna watch this master peace again thanks for brig it back
I never thought you'll react to this one. This is a great movie from my childhood
mine too agree 100 percent
i seen van helsing so many times growing up and the ending still makes me mad
the actress of Aleera is also plays Dr Poison in Wonder Woman
Thank you for that incredible reaction. I will think of you as Amazing Magy from now on.
15:29 "I Knew Can Be So Easy."
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, another occult 2000's classic
Cult classic. Not occult classic. Occult means something different
You should watch "Pennydreadful" if You enjoy Drácula, Werewolf's and witches.
You must see Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles
More movies I think you might like- The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Constantine, and An American Werewolf in London.
All good suggestions ( except the mummy ones ) and I haven't seen anyone doing reactions to these movies
This Van Helsing movie is great for its time.
I'm watching this in 2023. Talk about glow ups
Magy, if youre looking for suggestions for a good show to watch, i have afew.
1 - for supernatural shows: Supernatural, Van Helsing, Bitten. I highly recommend Bitten first.
2 - for science fiction: The Orville, which is also a comedy, Battlestar Galactica
3 - and finally I think you might like Smallville
Elena Anaya , the blondy - laventer eyed , Godess , vampire bride , Aleera , she 's the most badass fem villain in a film ! Great opposite of Kate Beckinsale ! Anna Valerius !
And another fact ...
That film had the most badass soundtrack of cinema history , composed by the one ... Alan Silvestri ! Composer of Volcano , Back in the Future series , Contact , Polar Express , The Mummy Returns and Cast Away films !
fun fact: Frankenstein is not actually the name of the monster it's the name of the doctor who created the monster.
Honestly, I never really liked this movie. But I always like Magy's reactions.
@@SchulzEricT Well, on any other day, that woulda seemed unbelievable...
@@SchulzEricT by you dislike this movie? You never explained
