War für den "Herrn Ingenieur" bestimmt das Highlight des Tages mal ein richtiges Fahrzeug in der Halle zu haben. Schöner Zustand übrigens. Lg aus ED, Henryk.
Danke
A lot of newer cars would fail that test here in Michigan. And the idler arm replacement is a simple job on your Cadillac.
It's so cool to see an 46 year old American car getting inspected in Germany I also inspect cars in the State of Maryland I think its more common for me to inspect BMWs and audis here than 1976 Cadillacs and 1974 oldsmobile 98s in Germany. I haven't inspected cars like that since the 1980s .here in Maryland you can be exempt from inspections after your car is 20years or older if you buy historic tags
They became rare in the US too
@@autoalfred yes back in the 80s and 90s the 20 and 30 year olds would call these beautiful cars land yachts gas guzzlers dinosaurs etc. But now the new generation seems be more kinder and interested in these classics. Now that there aren't many people miss them.
Beautiful Car.
Thank you. It is!
Absolute beauty.
German mechanics are tough to beat for their excellence.
With that "H" addition for so-called historical vehicles you avoid strict exhaust requirements and pay less or no road tax. Those cars are not banned from inner cities that have a strict ban on cars that do not meet the toughest emmission regulation. You can drive them without a catalytic converter. To get that privilege the car must at least be 30 years old and must not be modified in an unhistoric way. That is to say that those American "hot rod" alterations make it impossible to get such a plate.
In my state we have to take our cars in for emissions testing. If your car doesn't pass, you can't renew your plates until it's fixed. My cars pass because I maintain them regularly. No charge, for the test, but the many taxes and fees we pay actually pays for it.
I pay for the test every 2 years, but anything before 1973 doesn't need to be tested
D’elegance trim package
I want to move back. Maybe my great, great, great grandparents didn't make such a good decision after all.
They emigrated to America?
He was probably thinking, what a slab of American excellence
Very few Europeans would think that
what cost the repairs?
I don’t know yet. They will be done in 2 or 3 weeks
You're gonna be so happy when that idler arm is replaced, it's gonna steer SO much better,, you'll definitely feel it !!
@@autoalfred so, you're not doing the repair yourself? It's pretty simple...
I don't have the nerve to take my US cars to the inspection hall. I let my mechanic do it. Have done that for 40 years. It goes back to the days when the inspection halls were run by the State and the staff was very rudecand discriminating towards owners/drivers of US cars.
