Thank you! This worked for me on my 2013 3 series F30. My mechanic couldn't find the issue, but your video helped me fix it I used 3-in-one silicone lubricant as I think it is safer on the rubber and I used silicone gasket sealant adhesive to seal the hole which seemed to work nicely (I thought it would be more flexible than superglue). Thanks again! The noise was driving me crazy!
Great video, but wd40 is not used for such things because WD40 is not the best solution for lubrication, plus it can corrode the rubber in bushing, it is better to use some silicone grease in a spray, (for example Wurth Ultra 2040) which will lubricate the bushing much better, and will not corrode the rubber.
Wd40 it's a brand...that also makes silicone spray, not just the normal wd40 that it's more of degreaser and it's quite the opposite of the purpose of this video.
@@xedasxedas Youre actually wrong here silicone is not a degreaser! Its purpose is still to grease and it works on rubber, metal and almost all surfaces! The good thing about the silicone is that it is water resistant and therefore will help keeping it greased. This isue comes from driving into floodwater therefore it helps to keep the water out. Therefore silicone if perfect for this problem. So marko is right
I love this sooo much, I used silicone as recommended in the comments and its done the trick perfectly. I can't tell you how much it was driving me nuts! Thank you - love this type of video super helpful.
Super helpful! My 320i had a creaky rear arm and this method solved it. Used WD40 Lithium Grease and Gasket Silicone Glue. Garage quoted me £218 to replace an entire arm and this was technically free. Ideal!
Shout out to you homie 🙌🏻 I’ve been chasing this noise for about 3 months on and off spraying everything and ending up thinking the noise was coming from the bushing around the rear end area. Gave this a Hail Mary and it’s silent again 🙌🏻🙌🏻
absolute gem of a video - couldn't for the life of me find this noise until i came across your video going to be doing this later tonight - excellent info
I have a 2001 Civic with that squeak, we sprayed down there but it came back, but this looks like it would get inside the material better. When its rainy out, the sound goes away, until its dry, then its very obvious going over bumps, and just replaced rear struts, then squeak started. Which seems like they're just screaming for some lubricant, I said to mechanic after the struts isn't there anything to oil down there at least, they act like they haven't a clue about any solutions.
Jaguar X-type 2.5 V6......just done this on my jag after weeks of squeaking. I was at my witts end and was ready for ordering both upper and lower control arms as I couldn't find where the noise was coming from. Copied the video and popped a hole in both sides of the lower control arm inner mount and the squeaking stopped instantly. I used WD40 specialist silicone spray ..... Will post again with updates so you guys know how long this hack can last for. Thanks mate, great video *****

@@mackanistheshit cheers, is it most probably bushes that when your going around an island an there’s weight in the back you can also hear like a squeak brushing kind of sound?
Motorex sells a spray grease that probably could work for this application. Orherwise there are thicker, more lubricating spray oils for motorbike chans that also is kind to the rubber seals since they are intended for O-ring chains.
Thanks for this! It's a hard noise to locate because it's difficult to replicate the noise with the wheel off and your head is in there. At the very least, when It comes back, I'll know which bushing I have to replace.
@@eduarddragomir6380 yeah I thought so. I bought a needle adapter for my grease gun and filled the bushings with silicone grease instead, hasn't had a single squeak in a year now. 10/10 would recommend to anyone having this issue. Made it on my F31 and my brothers F82

Worked on E36 1996 , thank you, but i used syringe and needle to pierce the rubber and filled it with motor oil, i think that is more durable then WD-40... Cheers!

Any update on how long it lasted?
Would it not be better to fill the bushing with poly urethane? (Window weld) from 3M

i get a noise similar but when i use stock wheels 205r17 it doesn't give any noise. but with 225r16 it gives me the noise i don't know why is it?

Yes! New bushings is a permanent solution! :)

280.000 noise just came

What about the WD40 High−performance silicone spray? Does it wark?
Could you use grease inside the bushing would that work too
Will be hard to get the grease inside the bushing

Add after the gasket sealer on the hole and you use red grease for ball joints

I thought WD-40 is petroleum based and will destroy your bushings. Shouldn't you use silicone spray or AT205 reseal?
It probably is :)
How ever it doesn’t matter I think. This will only give you time and courage to actually replace the bushing :)
Tack, verkar funka bra👌 BMW 320 2014 18000 km

If it takes off and comes back going to have to change the the control arm roght
Or just press in a new bushing

Yes it did. That annoying squeak is gone.
Worked smooth on 320i with sillicone. Would recommend needle if you don't want or cant lift it up. 👍
I hope it lasts 🤣
I think it will last longer than one would except!
Yes I think it’s better to go with the silicon spray :)
how is 1 weeks later?
Wont the rubber be a weak point afterwards?
In my opinion this is a temporary fix to keep the car quiet, until you replace the bushings. How ever it will be quiet for at least a year :)
Doesn't WD40 degrade rubber though?
Yes but when your bushings sounds like this they are already on their way out. But preferably use som silicone based spray
I have an 2003 x5 bmw with the same sound problem you think it’ll work lmao
How has is held up? I wanna do this to my e90, the noise is hella annoying haha 😂
It has held up just fine! But i would use like silicone spray or something similar like a viewer suggested instead. :)
