Turning your Masters Thesis into washi tape would have been such a power move!!! My reading goal this year and next year is also 40 books!!! I feel like a genre you might like would be fantasy romance or romantasy since you love fantasy books!!!

I only just got into journaling recently but I didn't realise just how relieving and relaxing and just.. therapeutic it is. Everything from the designing of pages to the writing itself, it's so personal and private yet so creative and empowering! I definitely spent far too much money on this new hobby of mine but spending time every day or every other day just getting lost in pretty stationery and my thoughts down on paper honestly feels like filling a hole I had in my heart. Your videos are so beautiful and well made, and your spreads are stunning too! Definitely going to be drawing some inspiration from your pages!

If you don't know them you should read some books from David Eddings or Guy Gavriel Kay ! they are my favorite authors and their books are awesome ! Especially "The redemption of Althalus" and "Tigane"

You said you wanted to read a historical fiction book this year, and a book I recommend is All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Another historical fiction book I recommend ( it’s not exactly historical fiction but it’s about a recent issue) is the Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christie Leferty
BTW I love your reading journal setup for 2024🌷💐

🌷🫶 I decided to get into reading more to pull myself away from my screens. I love consuming new booktube creators I’ve found (like you!) and I’ve watched many many reading journal set ups in the last week and I got a bit intimidated because my goal is only 30 books (as this is my first year really entering into reading as a hobby) so I didn’t just read to meet a goal, I read for pleasure. I appreciate how honest you are with your goals even as a booktube creator where I know there can be a lot of pressure to read a certain amount of a certain genre or what-have-you. I look forward to following your 2024 reading journal!

I have the same orange fox journal with craft paper and have been using it for my reading journal in 2023, and will continue to use it for 2024 as it’s only half full. It’s been fantastic! The craft paper gives the whole thing an extra cozy vibe 😊

Lovely journal setup! I love the neutral scrapbookesque floral theme!! The parts about using your reading journal in the way you see fit, and the changes in your reading habits over time was incredibly healing for me. I am a former extremely avid reader but was in a major reading slump over the past few years because I didn't have much free time due to university/college. It definitely made me feel better and less alone about the change in my reading habits over the years. As much as I would love to consume an insane number of books a year like I did during my childhood, I know that that's not feasible for me at the moment given the limited time I have for anything other than school. It's brought me a lot of comfort and peace to realize and understand that it's okay to change the way that I interact with things that bring me joy. In the past year or two I've been coming out of my reading slump, and it's been nice to not fret over how many books I have or haven't read as the year progresses. Although I may not have the same reading habits as I did prior to starting university/college, I still do enjoy reading and appreciate the experience each book provides just as much. 🌷

I really enjoyed watching your reading journal set up, some really beautiful pages and great ideas for what to put in it. As I said in your 2024 bullet journal set up comments, I am very new to journaling so I don’t think I can handle 2 different journals but as an avid reader I think I will dedicate a couple of pages each month to books. As for my recommendations, I am not sure what you have already read but can endorse what one of your other commenters said about David Eddings. Also in that vein is The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams (first of a trilogy) or something a bit darker (and older) Robert Silverberg’s Majipoor Chronicles, the first one being Lord Valentine’s Castle. I recently discovered Mark Laurence’ Books of the Ancestor trilogy too, really good. This seems to be turning into a thesis too so I will stop but thank you, I am so glad I found your channel today!💖🌷

Looking at the notebook candidates you had, I actually plan on getting that fox journal with kraft paper from Notebook Therapy for my next reading journal after my current one is completely full. Turns out I could fit two years into it so I'm not in a hurry to get another journal quite yet.
The monthly review page turned out so gorgeous. That PET tape is beautiful and the colour fits so well into a reading journal. 🌷

I chose to go with a a5 black dot grid paper. I'm only using white gelly rolls and a white acrylic pen, all my color comes from washi tape. I also am using a black and white thermal printer for images and stuff. I'm really enjoying it. I reach for it everyday and log all my reading per day which is rare for me but it is keeping me on track which is nice. I've officially read everyday this new year. I was so hoping you would go with that beautiful black paper notebook but your set ups are always magical.

OMG, I've been watching your journals for the past couple of months, and they are super calming to watch. You've inspired me to start my own! So 2024, I will have my own journal where I can make cute collages and stuff.
A couple of my favorite reads from this year, are Ignite by Melanie Harlow, Credence by Penelope Douglas, A Long Time Coming by Meghan Quinn.
Shameless Plug, but I wrote a book, and IDK if it's something you'd read, but it's called Days of Revenge & it comes out Jan 29.
Can't wait to see more videos from you!

I have both of the Notebook therapy journals 😁. The one with the fox is my Reading Journal this year (but the B5 version with white pages… I have the one with craft paper, too). I love the orange and the fox. It also fits perfectly, because my character in the Magical Readathon by Book Roast has a fox/kitsune as a familiar (also my DnD character). For 2024 my journal will be the same orange, but with a crescent moon - which also fits, because my character is in the Order of the Crescent.
The other Journal with the story book vibe will be my travel journal for my visit in Wien (Vienna) in 2024, because it has the perfect size for a city trip and I don’t know why - but it just fits the location.

I recommend the Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. The first book is called All systems red. It is a quick read, the main character is funny, and sarcastic, and the plots are interesting and each book is connected. It’s a great option for your science fiction goal.

🌷This video has inspired to try a reading journal for next year. I love reading, but I've been struggling to find books to read and that keeps me from reading as much I would like. I think with a journal and setting up a "Books to Read" page and even a goal of how many books to read throughout the year page, I might be more motivated to not only read, but journal more.
Also, for anyone who might like a book recommendation, I absolutely loved the book "The Girl from the Well" and the sequel "The Suffering" by Rin Chupeco. They wrote an amazing ghost story and I highly recommend them. The hooks can be a bit scary to some, so please keep that in mind. 😊

I loved your 2024 reading journal set up. Every single page turned out SO beautiful!! I have a lot of inspiration to get my reading journal ready for the upcoming year. If you need some book recommendations I just finished reading, “The Rose Code,” which is historical fiction. It kept me on the seat of my pants! Very good book! I also recently read two of Matt Haig’s books. They are called, “How to Stop Time,” and “ The Midnight Library.” Both of those books were very good but also quick, fun reads. I wish you a very happy holiday and a peaceful New Year. Thank you for all the work you do posting new videos. I really enjoy them!❤️😘🌷

I actually went with a larger notebook for 2024...and it's lined. I just couldn't turn down the cover, it was beautiful. My goals tend to be to read 100 books (I read a lot of novellas and manga). I also want to read more of different types of genres so I can learn what I like and what I don't like. In 2023, I read a lot of fantasy so I learned what types of fantasy I liked and what I didn't like. In 2024, I think it will be horror/thrillers.
I do monthly review spreads, but I do one at the end of every month's section. I list the different genres I read, my ratings with the average rating for the month, my favorite book that month, pages/books/hours read, and I usually have some sort of prompts that I use to pick my books whether it's a readathon or a game I play that chooses prompts. I'll write the prompt and what book I chose for that prompt. Then, at the end of the year, I do a yearly stats spread (I am a stats person...I love math).
