Absolutely one of the best shows from way back then Good story lines, great acting and characters. So thankful you are putting them out for us all to enjoy.
Amazing to think December 1943 was only 35 years ago during this episode! It's now over 75 years since 1943, world war two. I was nearly fifteen when this episode first aired, now I'm 55! Wow! ☺
I'm 54 and I've just caught up with all these old episodes on UA-cam my grandmother and in 1970 have it on she was from h u l l England and lived in Victoria Australia
@@Prieze868 I have a very good friend from Hull. My Gran lived in Leeds. I hope your Gran reached a good age? Mine got to 94. Are you in Australia now? Best Wishes, Tim ☺️
Hilda looking back 35 years to 1943, seems a much bigger gap than us looking back 40 years to 1978. I was 17 when this was aired, and the world of 1978 doesn’t seem as remote as Hilda talking about the war.

Superb TV. I could watch the 60s/70s/80s Corrie on and on. So much better than today's stuff.
Thanks for the upload. Brilliant :o)
Got to agree 😁😁😁
each episode was a play. a work of art.
Homosexuals are drawn to the Arts the writers are homosexual
Totally agree, this period was excellent not like the drivel that is Coronation Street 2020
There will never be character's like the Ogdens ever again.
I was only four months old then but I was watching corrie from a toddler I think! They really were the glory years.
I was five months old lol.
You two are just kids i was 18 - just waiting on my free bus pass arriving - na na na nana
@@williamf4544 I was 15. I'm now waiting for my bus pass. Doesn't time fly?
Oh Eddie, if only you could see just how the DSS evolved. Jobcentres, jobcentre plus, job clubs, forced work placements, sanctions etc.

We will have the virus to talk about in years to come
43 years ago and the world has changed beyond recognition. Technology has moved on, but people have gone backwards.

18:10 Either Alf Roberts breaks wind assisted by the newspaper or its the handbrake on the van.
Didn't sound like any handbrake I've ever heard. 😆
