Wherever Nigerians live abroad - they need their traditional, home-cooked food... but where can you buy all those special, fresh ingredients like Ugu and Stock Fish?
BattaBox has found one place in Peckham, in London that brings in fresh Nigerian food every Thursday - and where the customers hustle all day to buy everything fresh! The supermarket is Stella's African Groceries & Vegetables shop.
"When people come, I want them to feel at home," says Stella. "I play music with the language they understand, we speak pidgin English - all as long as we feel as brothers and sisters."
And Nigerians can get all Nigerian food for their soups, pounded yam, bitter leaf and hot peppers, Gari, chin chin, Snails and even Alomo bitters and Palm wine.
"It's really hard to get proper, fresh Nigerian Food in London," says one lady. "I've been coming here as long as I can remember."
"I buy my fresh ugu, fresh vegetable, fresh fish and egusi," says one guy. "I dey cook for myself!"
All the Nigerian food is imported straight from Nigeria but there are challenges, such as packaging, import bans in London on some food stuffs, and also Nigerian ports. But Nigerians in London are desperate to find fresh produce and Stella's often sells out in the first few days:
"A lot of us have decided to settle down in London but we need our Nigerian food - the one we were brought up with," says Stella. "We still eat English food but we also want to feel at home."

I am Romanian and I respect these hard working people.
For those of us asking about the the business location, I took the liberty to investigate and it is: 154 Rye Lane, Peckham, London. SE15 4NB. You're welcome.
That's amazing! I'm working hard to export high quality and well packaged Nigeria farm produce abroad that meet global standard, I'll like to have Stella's shop phone or Email contact, thanks.

Is it important to buy fresh Nigerian Food when you are abroad??
***** no only when you are aboard. Nigerians in nigeria should buy nigerian foods rather than imports.
***** no only when you are aboard. Nigerians in nigeria should buy nigerian foods rather than imports.
AlDI! Are you crazy, that is the last thing they need. they need to buy locally grown foods..no pesticides and no gmo. We just got aldi's where i live and i am waiting on the day they go out of business.
It has been opened for 3 months and no one really goes there. I am sure it want last 2 years.

hey @jovey you'll have to go to Peckham to find out sha
Where is this shop? could you give me the address?
cheers
Where is this shop
Not criticising but the presenter did not say where in London this store is. Plus title "where to buy Nigerian Food in London" suggests there would be more than one outlet selected. Maybe outlets in East\North\South\West london could have chosen so viewers have choices depending on where they live.
Stella there is a good business in NY......Get a branch here so that you can drive these preserved and packages Nigeria food seller out of business.
Can I supply you so you can be selling

The narrator of this video is not a good narrator, at the beginning of the video she should have informed her audience the area/location where she was reporting from, throughout the video she never mentioned the location of STELLA's shop.... And Point of correction the black clay pots are not only used for juju/voodo but for cooking and keeping food warm ding dong.....
Cassma Cassma You are right, I expected her to mention the area but she did not.
Cassma Cassma. Frm peckham southeast London
I'm still waiting to hear to the location from her. Perhaps, Google will tell me.
She was happy showing a black pot used for JuJu, this the same stupid things they bring her for their marcab ritual which ended up with the body of a headless young boy from Nigeria found in the Thames, hope there is no monkey meat sold as bushmeat

Please BattaBox, how can I connect to the shop owner, I have food items worthy to be exported. Please help me with her contact.
Kindly send us a mail of inquiry via contact@battabox.com
Thanks.
leave aside the people group selling the food for the minuite ,as long as they have good customer service , plus if they sell the food now and help it get very popular , they will help promote the food to all people groups so eventually Nigerians food will get popular enough for her people to be in the position to sell their food too, however if you get bad customer service no matter where you shop don't go back, shop owners need to respect their customers support which is what they do when they come to buy your goods, nice day ,siJb
I was so glad when I saw the shop and the fresh products, their is nothing like that in Greece where I reside, nothing is fresh and the sellers are always making shakara for there food stuff that is not fresh. BastaBox, I commented on this your channel 7years ago but today you gave that same comment love❤.
My question is, why is it now that you are giving love to my comment of 7years ago?
Why not eat what you have in your adopted country mix with the locals know their food, that's why a lot of Nigerian's come to England and are not anglicized, thy want a British passport yet do not want to adapt, African food too is the most expensive in shops and restaurants...quality not up to scratch
Well you don't eat one taste all times
How i wish this shops are in china

I need food stuff not video please
Nigeria cook hi, I supply foods of any type from Nigeria to anywhere in the world...gloriawhite4real@yahoo.com..
why is this presenter so foolish she said when someone move to London he/she will be looking for where to buy nigerian foodstuffs she don't tell us where the shop is located and how to get the shop website
secondly that native pot she showed in the video is not for juju or voodoo it's for soup and I am surprised when she said people use it for juju. the pot is called (uwawa) in Edo language we the people of Edo use uwawa for soup it give soup taste and it also preserve soup . the pot has different sizes there are bigger ones there are also smaller ones . when you use that pot for soup you will know the difference between uwawa pot and other pots.
Wow!! Can you make a comment without calling someone names? It kinda says a lot about u
Juwon Arowora exactly my dear
Doris John please take it easy dear I am Urhobo we call it aewere like she said and use it for soups mostly bangs soup but indeed yoruba people use it for making juju sacrifices she was right she probably is more exposed that's why she knows. Peace ✌️
Nigerians are EVERYWHERE now they turned London into Lagos like they did in South Africa why is it that they cant stay in their own country and just go visit in other countries????somebody please explain to me I'm not asking this in a bad way.
Prince Jama Why do you see Chinese, Indians, Nigerians everywhere - large population.
Prince Jama Is that your problem? Well solve it if you can!
Do something about it if you can ok.
wow, they have the worst food in the world in nigeria and they recreate it when they leave
