Trailer for movie Redemption staring Jamie Foxx - Story about Stanley Tookie Williams, a West Side Crip founder from South Los Angeles who was arrested in 1979 for four homicides in Los Angeles & Whittier. He was convicted in 1981 and sent to San Quentin's death row where he was executed in 2005.
He was the first street gang member in California history to be sentenced to death and eventually executed. Today there are over 100 gang members on California's death row.

I remember reading an article on ‘Tookie’ and becoming fascinated by his story then I coped this film as soon as it was out there 100% a great movie.. Foxx was unreal in his role!
In the end ‘Tookie’ got his served sentence but definitely achieved redemption with his behind bars achievements and trying how he can to educate the kids outside
But in the end that cycle is always gonna be part of life over the pond in America bloods vs crips

First of all, I appreciate the advances Snoop Dog has made and I want to believe in forgiveness, however; when a person has been killed they cannot forgive you (in a living sense) and so I continue with this unfortunate struggle.

@sourcemaster he never claimed to be innocent that was the basis of his redemption, that he accepted his wrongdoings and wanted to prevent up coming youth from following the same path or making the same choices he did.

took and believe me, God did not hold it to him like we as humans would. Stanley in the end didn't deserve to die, his time in Jail was death enough. But in return he was able to give back life. Look at urself, its monstrous to carry on to say he deserves death. Who are we to play God and pass judgement.

His natural reaction was anger and he wanted his head. Arnold Schwarzenegger could have granted him clemency, but he never apologized for the murders.

In his decision denying clemency, issued less than 12 hours before Mr. Williams was scheduled to die by lethal injection, Mr. Schwarzenegger wrote that the case had been appealed to various courts since Mr. Williams was condemned in 1981, each one upholding his conviction.
The governor described the four murders in chilling detail, included a long list of the evidence against Mr. Williams, and said the proof of his guilt was "strong and compelling."
"Without an apology and atonement for these senseless and brutal killings," Mr. Schwarzenegger wrote, "there can be no redemption. In this case, the one thing that would be the clearest indication of complete remorse and full redemption is the one thing Williams will not do."
