It's actually not hard if you're able to sing in tune. The backing track is quite loud and she has the melody in her head. It becomes tricky if your voice is overwhelmed by dissonant sound(s).

That’s one thing I absolutely ADORE about Simon. He sees talent. No matter how unrefined he SEES it. And he knows when an opportunity is needed. And without a second thought he gives them. No matter what. He may be mean and some would definitely call him a dbag. But when he sees talent he doesn’t hesitate.

Nothing At All it’s because she’s a woman and Gary’s a man, it’s completely natural for females to have higher voices and males to be more comfortable with lower keys, perhaps falsetto isn’t Gary’s thing.
To those who don’t like Simon for being too judgemental, I get it. He stopped the music for the third guy because Simon isn’t only trying to get him to the next round, but if he gets far he’s trying to help each singer on the show to find they’re style and identity as a singers.
