With all the movie anniversary re-releases this year and how they’ve been making decent to good profits, I think it would be really a dumb move on Paramount and Nickelodeon to NOT re-release the first movie to theaters for the 20th anniversary. That could be the EASIEST $1M they could make this year
Even if it was a special one week engagement, or something similar to the recent Spider-Man re-releases, I agree it would still make a justifiable amount.
this is the closest will get to the spongebob movie getting a re-release in theaters
With a new movie coming to theaters next year, there's always a *slight* possibility Nick/Paramount take pity on us and have a four movie marathon lol

Exactly!! I just saw The Lion King for its 30th anniversary rerelease
@steveharper2463 If Disney can do it, *anyone* can do it lol
Fun fact this movie came out the same year I was born

TRyWatching "A better schedule for Nickelodeon's main block" by Evan Rosman.
Prime example of a movie that got too big for its own good.
