I cannot recognize it from the bark, I can list a lot of trees it certainly isn't. I think it looks like fir but can you make a vase from that makes me doubt. Have to try myself. I started turning in January and I already recognize most woods from the fragrance. In particular when you turn you can smell the wood.
Amazing! My grandfather used to turn wood. As I get older and more nostalgic, I feel I’d like to try my hand at it myself. 😎👍
