Woodturning - Mushroom from elm and something else...

Beginner woodturning projects. In this video a mushroom is turned from elm and another mystery wood. If anyone knows what the darker red wood is please let me know. I found inspiration for this by watching DIY videos on youtube and thought it was a nice beginner project. I have to admit that it was a challenge and took some time. I hope that this video can inspire others to try to make a mushroom with peg inlays.
Turned on Record DML 320 and shot on Sony A7C.

Well done! Have a look at the orientation of your saw dust funnel. All the dust is throwed towards you when sanding. You can see it in the video. Positioning the funnel behind and close to the workpiece would be more efficient.

Thank you Kerstin 😃 I have tried a few different positions for it. Now I have it close above and it works better, also running the lathe backwards when sanding. Thanks for the tips 👍

Nice work. I like how you put a different type of wood in the cap to give it spots, I’m going to try that. I just came across your channel today and I like how you don’t put music in your videos because I love the sound of the wood being cut and sanded. Subscribed
