    DESIGNED WITH SUSTAINABILITY IN MIND
    Duraflame firelogs are engineered with the environment in mind, so you can burn worry-free.
    CLEAN BURNING NEIGHBORHOODS
    You can breathe easy. Multiple studies have consistently shown that, compared to burning wood, duraflame firelogs reduce emission levels from residential fireplaces. This means using duraflame firelogs instead of wood can help reduce the negative impact on air quality in your neighborhood. For more resources on clean-burning options, western regional air district programs, and to check the burn status in your neighborhood, visit: whentoburn.com
    BURNS CLEANER THAN WOOD
    Duraflame firelogs light faster and burn more completely than firewood, and because far less material is consumed when burning a firelog, significantly fewer pollutants are emitted than a comparable wood fire. Compared to a similar duration wood fire, a duraflame® firelog emits:
    80% less fine particles
    75% less carbon monoxide
    90% less hazardous air pollutants
    Duraflame firelogs and firestarters use only recycled wood and agricultural fibers, saving valuable natural resources. The renewable fibers are mixed with blends of wax and other combustible, renewable materials.
    Some duraflame products are made from 100% renewable waxes and oils, combined with recycled and renewable sawdust and agricultural fibers. Look for a USDA mark on the packaging certifying their 100% biobased content. For more information about the certification, visit www.biopreferred.gov.
    Known as the greenest and most versatile firelogs on the market, Enviro-Log Firelogs are the ultimate firewood substitute. Enviro-Log Firelogs are made from 100 percent recycled waxed cardboard and when compared to firewood, Enviro-Log Firelogs burn cleaner. Enviro-Log Firelogs emit:
    30 percent less greenhouse gases
    80 percent less carbon monoxide
    86 percent less creosote.
    Enviro-Log Firelogs can also be stored and burned in all weather conditions and can be transported for camping, fishing, RVing, tailgating and other outdoor activities without the concern of restrictions imposed on firewood by some states and campsites. Enviro-Log Firelogs are also great for emergency preparedness because they have an infinite shelf life and are safe to cook over. Enviro-Log Firelogs are a popular choice for fireplaces, wood stoves, fire pits, chimineas, and campfires.
    Enviro-Log Firelogs have been tested by OMNI Environmental Services, Inc. in five major areas including: emissions; product application safety; performance; creosote accumulation; and physical and material properties. OMNI is an independent third party products testing laboratory specializing in emissions, safety and performance testing of manufactured fuels.
    They come in 5-pound and 3-pound sizes.
    Made in the USA. Each 5-pound firelog will burn up to 3 hours.
    Each 3-pound firelog will burn up to 2 hours. Expedition Money LLC

    Thank you for sharing this video and for the positive review of our products! For optimal burn, we recommend lighting the firelog according to the package instructions which orients the grooves correctly and allows for better flame propagation. 1) Carefully pull outward on the seam of the wrapper (without tearing) to loosen it from the log and create an air space. 2) Place firelog with arrows pointing down and seam facing toward you. 3) Light the seam below each arrow. Various weather and climate conditions may affect burn time.

    The yellow Duraflame log was having a hard time because you lit it upside down with the arrows pointing up. That channel groove that would give a sheet of flame across the log was on the bottom and couldn't do its job. The Every Night log with the groove faced up correctly had the advantage in this shoot-out. edit: Oh I see Duraflame responded, missed that.

    At 9:53, he says "Lickety Splickety." It sounds really funny at 0.25x speed. I listened about 20 times.
    In the end, I bought the yellow duraflame log.

    If you pull out the seam on bottom of Duraflame log and light each quarter of the seam besides just the ends, it will burn evenly. Cheers

      Yes Rhett you are correct. Duraflame Firelogs should be lit on the seam below each arrow designating where to light on the packaging. Arrows should be oriented facing down.

    I burned a Duraflame indoor/outdoor log in my fire pit for the first time. It was slightly breezy. The burn started nicely with some dancing flames, and there was a bit of smoke. then into the 2.5-3 hr, flames were out, heavy thick smoke! I did poke it and broke it down, then flames opened up but no smoke then! then it quickly burned down as there wasn't much log remaining. Why was there so much thick smoke? The smoke smell got into the house and lasted all night! I'm hesistent to try again! Suggestions??

    I’ve found that with Enviro log if you stoke stick a poker and twist along the log it burns beautifully. It took me a couple try’s before I figured that out. I just purchased the Duraflame Ultra Gold I will give them a try soon. Darrel

    Great thank you for wasting your money so I don' have too. LOL I was just looking for them and said to myself which are the better bang for the buck. i usually get the Envirologs and poke them to get more flame out of them in my wood stove but the reason I get those is so I don't have to spend all my time stoking the fire in my garage and I can work on other things.
    Every night looks like a better alternative, thanks for your video.

    When I go winter camping I take the standard or should I say original duraflame log simply because I throw it into my wood stove set a timer for 3 hours and 30 minutes wake up and throw the next one in, go back to sleep get up refreshed then I start cooking breakfast.

    Few things wrong with this video. First the Enviro-Log says to use 2. Second you re-lit the Duraflame Log, you conveniently blame the wind, which you say is not that windy. I use Enviro-Logs and they last 4 hours for me when I follow the instructions. Good day!

    I only use gas (with the fake firewood) now on my in-the-house fireplaces now because I'm too lazy to clean my fireplaces. I do love the Duraflame for camp fires. I cheat by bringing the duraflame logs and some coals as my base of the fire so I can put not-as-dry firewood on top and still have the firewood burn.

    • @DuraflameFire
      @DuraflameFire 3 роки тому

      Thanks for sharing your Duraflame experience around the camp fire! When starting a wood fire we recommend duraflame firestarters made from similar materials that are specifically designed to light wood fires.

  • @steve0ne11

    I personally use the enviro log because we can cook and roast marshmallows on them. Their selling point is lower emissions, not just recycled ingredients. If you’ve ever tried that with a duraflame, your pot or marshmallows are covered in toxic soot within seconds. So it just depends what you’re looking for.

    • @petervonpanda

      Same here. We use the Enviro-logs because they're supposed to be food-safe. Don't burn that great but I usually use two of them as a base and then two or three cuts of real wood on top.

    I was wondering. Candles are expensive, and they don’t last long. Could they make a Duraflame candle? I suppose it might give off smoke, but it could be used outdoors. Sawdust candles should be a lot cheaper than straight paraffin.

    Part of what you were seeing is the fact that you put them all together. The back side of each log was getting heat from the other logs which kept some of them burning differently. A better test would be to burn each one separately which is how you would normally burn them. Finally, Duraflame makes an outdoor/camping log that is safe for cooking over. I know this is a concern for many people wanting to use these for campfires.

    I always go with fire logs, but was wondering if actual wood burns hotter?

    • @petervonpanda
      @petervonpanda  3 роки тому

      I think real wood probably does. These don't turn into those really hot coals like a good hard wood.

    • @DuraflameFire
      @DuraflameFire 3 роки тому +5

      Thanks for your question Cody! A firelog produces about 13,000 BTU (heat energy) per pound which is more than firewood (per lb), but you typically burn more firewood per fire, which makes it feel warmer.

    Duraflame has gone downhill. Bought 10 from Costco and after burning the
    first 2 I took the rest back. Poor burning and got maybe 3 hours maxed.
    Tried another one from Target and it was fine. Maybe I got a dud batch.
    Should say up to 3 hours instead of up to 4

    I bought 8 boxes Duraflame 4 hour fireplace logs at Costco not one burned for 3 hours?? more like 2 hrs. 45 min. Inside fireplace behind glass. Last year they burned exactly 4 hours?? I know times are tight but this is fraud.

      Hmm. I just bought a few boxes of Duraflame Gold, 4.5 lb., 3 hour logs. I'll have to time my burn time to see how long they burn.
      But then again. The box does say "up to 3 hours" not "3 hours".
