I started using these looks a couple days ago! The first time was smooth sailing (also my first time using a fireplace in general), the second time (right now as I'm typing) scared me a little bit since the flame got a little too big for my comfort (nothing serious; the log kinda toppled over on itself and I panicked lol). It's back down to a comfortable (for me) size. That subtle crackling is so aesthetically pleasing 😍
Yeah, that's a good point! I've learned that you don't want to disturb the log once it's lit. If it breaks apart, the material burns much more rapidly and much bigger. Because it's compacted into a log shape, I think that keeps the burn rate steady. But when I have put another log on top of it that smashed the log, it really creates a big flame.
Inserting a few random M80's might up the excitement level. I know burying a few in the ashes of fire pits in Boy Scouts always got a significant reaction from the next group. Peace
Thank you! I was very curious about this particular duraflame log. I am pretty disappointed. I thought it would have had more crackle and pop. I’m not sure if you could here it in an outdoor fire pit. Anyways I am very happy you shared this video. I think I will pass on the crackle. It’s a lot more than the other duraflame logs. So I will just stick with the traditional ones. Thanks again!
Yes, I got close to 3 hours. The flame is still going, but it's pretty small by then. I've found that if you break it up at the end, the flame gets bigger, but burns out more quickly.

Thanks for watching! I agree, I was looking for more pop like real firewood
Thanks for this Peter. I'm about to go grab one of these.
Which fire log would you say puts out the least amount of smoke?
Very cool. Just bought these for a one nighter camping trip
They need to put a bunch of Snap n Pops in the log. 😄
Do they have a scent, or know of one that does? I loved the review, thank you!
If you want scented. I believe its envirolog....either way there is a KFC scented artificial.
Yeah pretty subtle but does sound more "real"
Can you use more than one fire log?
The crackle isn't important to me. I just care about how long it'll last. Did they burn three hours for you?
