- I've always loved Mesa Boogie amps and now that they have been acquired by Gibson, these are basically Mesa built amps with a Gibson logos on them. I think. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. They sound really good.

They sound really good. I would be interested in hearing how the fixed attenuated monitor output sounds through a decent PA. I assume as its fixed that the output level is not affected by the volume of the amp?
It's going to be tough to break in the market at that price point. The 20 sounds really smooth tho, man what a tone.
Some nice playing again Rich. Not sure how much these cost but I think I prefer the sound of the 20w amp. Not a pedal guy, I like any gain to come from the amp and use the volume pots on the guitar to control the level. They are up against some tough opposition.
I think they sound great and may go for one since I don't have a tube amp, just my Katana Artist and Katana 50, which I mainly use on the clean channel with my own pedals. I really like how Gibson put the low power 1-watt setting on the Falcon 20. It seems to me Gibson is going to sell a bunch of these.
The Falcon 20 is a 12 watt amp when configured with 6V6 and a 15 watt amp with 6L6

youtube video wise i couldn't hear and difference between these amps and the stage right you demoed a month ago , in the room might be different story ...
They both sound really good. That's what I love about the market we live in. Anyone can afford great tone tone these days.
The sound like they’ll do the job if you’re a tube guy. Price point and weight are considerations, curious what they come in at? I like that they seem simple whereas some of the Mesas I played through were anything but simple. Don’t hear any 60 cycle hum either- single coil Achilles heel!
Yeah it was pretty quiet. These things are built like a tank.

@@ozhoodguitar Mesa Boogie also said they would be back last year. but still a no show. since its owned by Gibson i have little faith in those amps coming over here
@@kkzooi FWIW I’m seeing a bit of Mesa Boogie stuff in store here in Australia lately after a long absence so maybe their global supply chain is starting to get sorted out

I really like the Falcon 20. The power scaling brings tremendous versatility. You sound great through them also. You should gig with them!
The Falcon 20 only puts out a max of 12 watts with the stock tubes and max 15 watts with a set of 6L6's. It sounds ok but for two grand there are definitely better options.

I find the reverb to be annoying in this video. Seems like the decay is too long, which I dislike. I'll have to try to verify. Orange amps with reverb had a decay of like 2 hours.

No, they are too busy sucking up to Gibson and Mesa to stop and watch the Guitologist's video about these bogus shitboxes. The inside of them looks like the inside of a calculator.
Honestly the main issue is not how it's wired if it puts out a good tone. The issue is that's its overpriced for what it is, but that's gibson in a nutshell. Super overpriced instruments. Don't get me wrong I love gibson, but damn they need a reworking on their ridiculous pricing model.
Only problem with these is that the vintage ones are cheaper than the new ones
If they make one in white, will they call it a ... White Falcon ... ?

Made by Mesa Boogie...hmm. Mesa is well know for keeping amp tech gainfully employed. I'll spend my money on a more reliable brand being as a good tech is $300 an hour. Sorry Mesa, you can fix your know issues...

These amps sound decent but no way would I pay the price that they are asking. I could see $300-450 as a price range and only because it says Gibson. I would probably take a Monoprice combo over these since they sound better than these Gibson amps your demos. Nice demo though Rich.
$300-450 really? You are completely out of your mind. There isn’t any American made amp that you buy new for that price much less from a major brand. It would even cost more than that to buy parts from an American company to build an amp like either of these.

They aren’t. They are less expensive than the lowest priced Mesa, and priced in line with other similar American made amps.
Why not open one up (it’s just four screws) and show the circuit board with the preamp tubes mounted on the circuit board? That would make for a more complete review. These are highly over priced for circuit board amps.
Not my amp. I don't open up amps that are new that I don't own. You should buy one open one up and do your own video.
