Important notes which I learned after recording this video: 1. Do not Skip on flushing your cooling system in block. No matter how little time you have to spend on it. Spend as much as possible. 2. Replace that water pump while you're in there.
Nice truck, superdutys always are great trucks, but with that said 6.0 powerstroke was the worst stock diesel motor they put out UNLESS you bulletproof it( oil coooler, egr delete, studded and basic maintenance. Oh and wait till you have to remove the turbo and the pedestal lol. But definitely a thumbs up 👍
I've always heard the 6.4 is worse as well. From multiple for diesel technicians. 6.0 actually has a big fan base. Surprisingly though, many of the gaskets and parts are relatively inexpensive and easy to come by. Most of the cost to repair goes into the labor, understandably.
I used to make a good living fixing these 6.blows. stock is one of the worst diesels ever made. But if you 'bulletproof' it for a couple grand in parts they run like scalded cats and sound awesome EDIT: Just noticed you are missing the shroud that goes from the fan guard to the radiator. This needs to be in place direct air thru the rad properly and will definitely add to your overheating issue
@@outerfroggy1 definitely some good job security with these. Yeah I know that's a big thing on vehicles with electric fans too, had someone else who used to work at a diesel shop tell me that it's not a big deal and they go missing or break all the time. Not to mention the price those are fetching right now, I'm going to w ride it out until I find a good deal on one 😅.. Just going to see how this truck runs with fresh oil cooler and coolant for now.

This dude can do it all. Great video, Billy. Welcome to taking care of a diesel engine. Treat it right and it will just keep running for you.
@@bspradley 🙏🙏
Nice one Billy. I came for the Z and stayed for the diesel truck 😂. The POV stuff looked good to me 👌🏼
Yet another epic adventure from Billy.
Well Done.
It's never ending. Thank you!
Domestic or import, you are always up for the task. Great video, yet again.

6.4 is much worse in my humble opinion. I've owned both.
@PrestonSmith-g1q both will definitely empty deepest pockets lol

@@Billy_Builtthey break so much from mechanics having to kneel on them from being in the shop 24/7 lol
Careful, working on a real man’s vehicle like an American truck might finally make your stones drop
So that's why yours haven't? 😂
@ brother i work on so much American cars i can’t even walk in a straight line with how much my grapefruits throw my balance off
@@skeeterwyattMD the reason you haven't been able to walk straight might have something to do with your recent visit to your Uncle diddy's place..
