So I'm having a slow day at work and stumbled across Dapper in the algorithm, and have watched over half a dozen at this point. I find it fascinating that NOBODY was asking about the cheese on this one. Everyone got so engaged with the timing game and NOBODY was looking for a way around all of it. Take out the cheese and it's a fantastic track to play as-is!
You need a track where the cheese is just hidden enough to be found a minute or two in, which is immediately faster and everyone takes it. But actually if you drive the regular route like a pro it wins every time
Just thinking: everyone expects a shortcut. Might be more accurate to say “while everyone expects a shortcut, what they don’t know is where it is.” You could also add “or isn’t” to the end of that as well.
Gonna have to start getting more creative with the shortcuts. Give ‘em an “easy” to find shortcut that they’ll eventually find either halfway in or towards the end then when everyone is focusing on that, do a shortcut that’s much more hidden and more likely impossible to find unless you know where it is. Maybe make the “easy” shortcut like only a couple seconds faster than the intended route, but then make the intended route easy as well so when the shortcut is found, almost everyone has already set a decent time and everyone at least has A time, so they ALL go for the shortcut. Then you go for the significantly better shortcut but the one that’s impossible to find, but the trick is that it’s entry point is located much further down the track to where no one will suspect you are going for a different shortcut and if anyone sees you at the beginning before they turn for the “easy” shortcut they just think you’re doing another run of the intended route but really down track is where the actual better shortcut is at. Or, make a shortcut to where you aren’t intentionally going somewhere different that sticks out but it just ends up looking like you messed up. Something like a fast tight turn with a wall where for anyone around you during the run, it just looks like you took the turn too fast and went wide and flipped over the wall. But in reality there’s some kind of hidden non collision block you end up falling into that ends up boosting or blowing your cart or body all the way to a secret finish. But with the catch that you have to flip off the wall at a very very specific part. Somewhere where someone won’t accidentally do it in that turn if they actually DO go too fast and flip off the track. Like somewhere early in the turn where you really shouldn’t end up flipping off the wall legitimately, but not so early that it’s not believable by those around you. Idk, I feel like it might kinda be impossible for you at this point to hide any shortcuts that well anymore. People find everything now lol
For the first part, he's done shortcuts like that and even with multiple misdirection shortcuts they still get found early on. For the 2nd part, his hidden shortcut in the "CHEATING With A Secret Tunnel Under The Map!" video is the only way he could safely have an unfindable shortcut IMO, somewhere completely inconspicuous in a map where that passage entrance had to be approached a certain way and where it could be in so many different parts of he map that even if someone was hunting for it they probably wouldn't hit it, and where it took some time to let the ragdoll get to the end so that it's not immediately obvious that it is a shortcut.
@@spoodtouch yes I know I’ve seen the vids. I’m saying to do it slightly differently with more of a “ok, that’s it” attitude where he really goes hard making something crazy
You need to make couple fake cheeses and leave one for yourself. Pretend being bummed after they find the second “faster” cheese you didn’t want them to find, then at the last minute pull the rug from under them.
Item generators with ring at a slow, medium and fast rate. Items generated maybe selected by the track builder if possible. That or make own generators with things people would definitely want, including weird things, though that seems like it would take up more memory.
This is ultimate sled, RBG if I’ve ever seen it dapper good job and I thought people couldn’t get more RBG than what you just did up. What are you gonna do next?
You should make a version of this track where if you break an exact amount of time, you will never hit the objects, meaning that they would have to guess the exact timing that you did for breaking.
Maybe have two hidden boosters. You "accudebtalky" reveal the left side one , everyone starts focussing on that side, then right before the end you go right to grab the much faster booster and get 1st place. 😁
Also another strategy that you could do is make a shortcut in a map that is impossible unless you dip one side of the wheels of your car into a specific groove in the track.
you put cheeses to much so everyone expects it you should make some actual technical tracks with no cheeses then throw in a track with cheese every once in a while

Yeah, basically what goblin said. Not nearly as catchy. Besides, he's made tracks without shortcuts. A random player found the cheese.
