To Leslye, good and evil are the fault of institutions rather than the universal timeless storytelling tradition of the struggle of the conscience between light and dark.

I think Leslye is just expanding in the moral complexities of characters. Often people are not born good or evil its the communities they grow up in that will affirm one or the other. Audiences are beyond simple black and white story telling and with that creatives have to take more risks. Its unfortunate that a director like Leslye who has an amazing gift for symbolism and world building is diminished to "Not doing it like George"

This is a bastardization of nearly 50 years of SW. Innovate all you want and explore the complexities of what turns someone to the dark side or explore how the "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" with a flawed but well-meaning Jedi order. But saying: Jedi = oppressors = bad/Sith = "passionate" = good is blasphemy and just morally reprehensible even outside of a TV show.

Why would a Sith lord and his henchman stir up a vendetta between Jedi and some girls? Don’t they have planets to blow up? The Jedi aren’t perfect, but who am I supposed to like or cheer for? Who’s having a relatable journey? Where's the adventure that helps me escape or see myself differently? In short: what was the point? Contrast this with the latest Dune movies. In a similar runtime, I was drawn into a universe that balanced personal relationships and intergalactic-scale religious and political intrigue. It showed that while love is powerful, it can be overshadowed by other forces that might destroy billions of lives. The villains were truly evil, and even the heroes had questionable motives. I’m eager for the next part, even knowing it won’t have a happy ending.

The funny thing is... I was here before you got that big, when you didn't even reveal your face yet and this channel mainly consisted of what if scenarios and fanfics. You were so excited and enthusiastic about Star Wars, it was contagious. I used to be like you back then. My dad introduced me to Star Wars when I was little. It was like a sacred grail for me then. Star Wars was a reason I made some good friends. I remember playing KOTOR together, experiencing the release of each prequel movie with them. It felt impossible for me to let this brand go, I owed it so much. But it was back then. I know how you feel. It's hard to see something so precious to you crumble right before your eyes. It's over. We need to let this go and hopefully someday we'd be able to collect the ashes of this once great brand and make something substantial with it. Right now, it's just over.
You can tell Leslie never even did her due diligence and read “Plagueis”. I r the book, Plagueis and palpatine, during long, joint meditations, did not create Anakin. The force RESPONDED to their meddling in it. They were actually punished by Anakin, ironically. So Leslie has it all wrong.
In May Lesley said “The Acolyte Will Be Free From Star Wars Film and TV Show Cameos” seems they got so desperate after it became painfully clear they had no talent to create this show they turned to outright stealing dialogues from OT and prequels and introducing those cameos of beloved characters created by George out of desperation to save face and then utterly bastardising them. The cameos were shoed in and added zero to the plot. The protagonists and antagonists would switch sides constantly including that annoying prairie dog, and the fights were laughable. There was literally no wars in this Star Wars. Just some lazy, AI-assisted fanfic that burned through $180,000,000 that clearly was just being laundered from other projects into this one as a payday for Kennedy, Headland and their cohorts. Through this whole terrible show, you have been a solid anchor of information, calm collected criticism, and have really kept me sane as I tried to comprehend what we all just witnessed. I had heard alot of terrible things about you on-line, and all of them were not true. You have earned a new subscriber, and I have very slowly, decoupled myself from people who really have no idea what Star Wars means to so many of us. A lot of the Jedi kinda were complete assholes at this time? There was a ton of lying and corruption. In TCW and tales of the Jedi they really go into this. The hubris of the Jedi ultimately brings about their downfall. That’s kinda what the entire prequel trilogy is about. They ignore the problem til it’s too late. Even here, I don’t think the Jedi were bad people. I think they just made mistakes and let their pride get the best of them. Sol was genuinely doing what he thought was right. They all were. They were just wrong.

I'm not defending Darth Plagueis being there, but here is my best guess as to what's going on: He didn't find out himself. Darth Tenebrous sensed some dark side activity, and sent his apprentice to investigate. As SWT says, Darth Plagueis is very young, and so probably not strong enough yet to engage Smilo Ren. And he may also not tell Darth Tenebrous the truth about what he finds, as both Osha/Mae and Smilo are potential candidates to replace him as the Sith apprentice. We also know from the Darth Plageuis novel that the Darth Bane lineage of true Sith are always in full control of the dark side and eliminating wannabe-Siths, so there has to be something keeping that from happening here.
I couldn't help but notice Mai scanned the planet with her ship, and found them instantly. Must have been new tech that the jedi didn't have, as they had to use metal detectors, and their eyes to find people. 😐
I’ve like the Holiday Special for a while now (never considered it that good, but did consider it okay), but this makes me like it a bit more in comparison.
let's not forget that part in clone wars where we see a literal jedi turned sith meditating in a room trying to use the force to turn the lightsaber red through pure emotion. one example of many, it takes SKILL AND PATIENCE TO BLEED A LIGHTSABER!!! and I'm pretty sure the strength of the lightsaber depends on the focus you give the bleeding process. correct me if i am wrong pls.
The Acolyte is a product that is an acquired taste for a specific target audience. It's akin to cheap diluted wine, there is a space in the market to sell it to those who don't really care about the real taste of traditional wine. In this situation, Disney has taken the traditional idea and bastardised it for a new audience. That's the way it is, Disney has diluted Star Wars to a spectrum that divides the fandom instead of uniting us the best way possible... You'd think $180 million would do that but here we are.

To teach someone how to make a child with the force means you’ve already done it before… and therefore, Anakin is not special at all and is one among many.
Fans have no problem with osha possessing power because of her gender or race. Fans have a problem with her possessing force choke/ crystal bleeding levels of power, without the necessary training, build up, explanation or character arc. Think about Ashoka . We see her as a young padawan and follow her story as she becomes a more powerful master. So it makes sense when’s she able to do different things with the force. But with Rey, Sabine and now Osha, there just isn’t a good story or explanation for their power or progression. It’s just sad. Why can’t Star Wars just make sense. Why can’t we have a character that earns their power in an interesting and logical way.

I want a legit breakdown of how Leslye Headland spent $180 million on this trash show. It wasn't for CGI, sets or costumes since they were all trash. It definitely wasn't for the actors, since none of them seemed to know how to act. Where did the money go?
i guess Sol did allow himself to be choked. He wouldn't have been able to say "It's okay" to Osha before died unless someone loosened the Force choke enough to let air get through for him to say that, and Osha was too enraged to do that, so it must have been Sol which means he could have fought the choke but chose not to because he felt so guilty that he accepted having his life taken by Osha as punishment he deserved. This fits with the stupidity of Torbin drinking the poison out of guilt and the way Sol is portrayed as insanely emotional and irrational throughout the series.

In May Lesley said “The Acolyte Will Be Free From Star Wars Film and TV Show Cameos” seems they got so desperate after it became painfully clear they had no talent to create this show they turned to outright stealing dialogues from OT and prequels and introducing those cameos of beloved characters created by George out of desperation to save face and then utterly bastardising them. This is what happens when talentless clowns are allowed to run rampant by an inept CEO KK. It’s pure evil how they continue to destroy George Lucas’s great work with these insufferable fan fiction parodies that no one asked for.🤦🏾

The cameos were shoed in and added zero to the plot. The protagonists and antagonists would switch sides constantly including that annoying prairie dog, and the fights were laughable. There was literally no wars in this Star Wars. Just some lazy, AI-assisted fanfic that burned through $180,000,000 that clearly was just being laundered from other projects into this one as a payday for Kennedy, Headland and their cohorts. A lot of the Jedi kinda were complete assholes at this time? There was a ton of lying and corruption. In TCW and tales of the Jedi they really go into this. The hubris of the Jedi ultimately brings about their downfall. That’s kinda what the entire prequel trilogy is about. They ignore the problem til it’s too late. Even here, I don’t think the Jedi were bad people. I think they just made mistakes and let their pride get the best of them. Sol was genuinely doing what he thought was right. They all were. They were just wrong.
The Force Unleashed is so professionally well done and fits into Star Wars Canon like a glove, but apparently, isn't Canon yet the Crapolyte is ? 😂

I'm not defending Darth Plagueis being there, but here is my best guess as to what's going on:
He didn't find out himself. Darth Tenebrous sensed some dark side activity, and sent his apprentice to investigate. As SWT says, Darth Plagueis is very young, and so probably not strong enough yet to engage Smilo Ren. And he may also not tell Darth Tenebrous the truth about what he finds, as both Osha/Mae and Smilo are potential candidates to replace him as the Sith apprentice. We also know from the Darth Plageuis novel that the Darth Bane lineage of true Sith are always in full control of the dark side and eliminating wannabe-Siths, so there has to be something keeping that from happening here.
I couldn't help but notice Mai scanned the planet with her ship, and found them instantly.

The Acolyte is a product that is an acquired taste for a specific target audience. It's akin to cheap diluted wine, there is a space in the market to sell it to those who don't really care about the real taste of traditional wine. In this situation, Disney has taken the traditional idea and bastardised it for a new audience. That's the way it is, Disney has diluted Star Wars to a spectrum that divides the fandom instead of uniting us the best way possible... You'd think $180 million would do that but here we are.

Fans have no problem with osha possessing power because of her gender or race. Fans have a problem with her possessing force choke/ crystal bleeding levels of power, without the necessary training, build up, explanation or character arc. Think about Ashoka . We see her as a young padawan and follow her story as she becomes a more powerful master. So it makes sense when’s she able to do different things with the force. But with Rey, Sabine and now Osha, there just isn’t a good story or explanation for their power or progression. It’s just sad. Why can’t Star Wars just make sense. Why can’t we have a character that earns their power in an interesting and logical way.

i guess Sol did allow himself to be choked. He wouldn't have been able to say "It's okay" to Osha before died unless someone loosened the Force choke enough to let air get through for him to say that, and Osha was too enraged to do that, so it must have been Sol which means he could have fought the choke but chose not to because he felt so guilty that he accepted having his life taken by Osha as punishment he deserved. This fits with the stupidity of Torbin drinking the poison out of guilt and the way Sol is portrayed as insanely emotional and irrational throughout the series.
I was hoping a Sith would’ve come out of nowhere to force lightning everyone and put an end to this series in a blaze of glory. A man can dream.
