I appreciate seeing a messy studio!!! Seeing other UA-cam channels where the studio super clean is just weird. I love seeing mess it just means real artistic processes are happening. Your book collection is also so fun!
i was able to see a chihuly exhibition in florida, "seaforms" it was so beautiful. i love to look at peoples books and am usually disappointed that most people arent even the least interested in mine. so many people do not even have ONE book, or ONE hobby (i have worked in so many peoples houses). this saying i read somewhere: "a house without books is like a room without windows". Thank you for showing us your workroom.
This is another Chihuly story. I visited a small art museum in Port Angeles, Washington when they featured Chihuly glass. I recall it was his baskets. A docent was touring with a small group of children, 10-12 years old. I followed along as she talked about how to look at the beautiful glass displays. I've seen several Chihuly display's but none more memorable than this lovely day. I often look at what the two of you are showing that brings you inspiration and what you think is fantastic. I think I may need a docent to help me understand what you see!
i don't have a specific title at hand but there are books about the quilts of the underground railroad which are not only beautiful but served as signposts and directions that led many slaves to freedom - you might enjoy looking at those also - thank you for these tours - your commentary is a window into your souls
Oh my goodness guys - I don’t think you realise how at home I feel looking at your room and books. Fabulous. Arne your desk particularly makes me feel happy as it is so full of stuff. That’s how I like my desk - full of stuff 🤭 the. They wonderful books - thanks so much for this delight. Keep enjoying your summer break 🌻
Thank you for sharing your library treasures. I love my knitting and cook books. My daughter loves to tell me, when I have to move, books are obsolete. Get rid of them, everything is online. I personally, love looking through my books and not at a screen. Glad to see I'm not alone. ❤️😘
I love to see what books inspire people, it's such a personal insight into a persons mind. Thank you for sharing, great shirt Arne ! I hope you're enjoying your holidays ! See you Wed.
I am a bibliophile. My ideal house is *empty* except for overflowing bookshelves, a grand piano, scrumptious yarn, music to knit by - and scattered enormous, comfortable pillows to settle comfortably on, to read, knit and rest. Thanks for showing us what you like.
I love Chihuly! He created an amazing (very expensive) installation of glass artwork at the downtown library in San Antonio, Texas. My family loved going there, and the beauty is inspiring!
I used to work in libraries and the best time was when new books arrived. Opening the boxes, getting out the books, the feel and smell of the new items. I just don't get that these days when I buy an ebook. Books are special and are treasures, thank you for sharing your collection and memories with us.
Hello Arne & Carlos! I so enjoy your videos and I hope you know that you provide a lot of joy to your watchers. Thank you for how you share your lives, knowledge and your creativity. I feel understood and like I’ve known you both for many years. God bless you both 😘
I love my knitting, crochet, sewing and quilting books. I never get tired of them. Art books are wonderful. I visit the public libraries when I'm in a mood for new ideas and patterns I don't already have. Thank you for this video.
What a fabulous collection of books and what an amazing memory Carlos has, remembering where and when you’ve traveled and purchased the books. Can’t wait to see the next episode.
What a lovely video. Such wonderful books. Anne's desk looks like the ottoman in front of my sofa full of books yarn needles hooks etc... You gentlemen lead such interesting lives. Happy Sunday

I adore Chihuly. Have been to 2 major exhibitions, one in Canberra, Australia, of sea creatures, and another in Los Angeles, of boats and sticks, like the ones you showed. The glass is unbelievable. I photographed every single piece. Love seeing your book collection. Please show us more!
A&G you regularly offer inspiration and today’s video is another example. Each of the books you presented would make lovely gift ideas for people I love. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the tour. Arne, I would feel so at home in your studio. My favorite quote is by Robert Louis Stevenson, “A book is like a frigate, that will take you miles away.”
I love books 📚 they are a great inspiration, your library is filled with beautiful inspiring books 😊. Also great inspiration from your travels around the world. Thank you for sharing 🤗💕.
Your reference library is excellent. I can see how you get inspired by all these ideas. Will try to source some of these. Keep keeping us posted on all your ideas and travels. Until nxt time. Happy crafting. I am trying filet crochet for the 1st time and it's coming along great. Doing a runner for my neice's dinning table. 👍👍👌👌❤❤
Loved this episode. Loved seeing your books. I love seeing what people read and how it's affected their lives. I'm also a book collector and own over 1,500. Carlos, I received "People Knitting" as a gift from my husband. It's one of my favorites and I go back to it time and time again. Thank you both for sharing a piece of your lives with us.
What!? No suitcases! I love libraries we all have… and the moose in your window in room behind you! I have a large collection of knitting books and I will never knit everything. I should donate some to our library since most are hardback. Well, maybe we learn more about the moose in window😊 lol! Happy knitting! Cheryl
Thank you for sharing some of your books. I too have the quilt book from the V & A and have found memories of visiting the quilt exhibition there. It was truly inspiring. 🇬🇧
Chihuly, OMG! Twenty years ago I was working near an extraordinary glass gallery in Toronto. I walked in the first time on my lunch hour and there were these huge magical pieces hanging down several metres from the ceiling. I learned later that the artist was Chihuly. His work transported me from my mundane office lunch hour to an other-world reality. Then, around 8 years ago, I was able to visit the Art Gallery of Ontario when the hosted a large Chihuly exhibit. Such magic, such vision!
Thank you for another wonderful video, Arne and Carlos. What lovely books with so many talented artists. It was fascinating to hear you talk with such enthusiasm about where you get your inspiration for your work. I'm very much looking forward to the next video.
I love the People Knitting book. I have a photograph copy near my desk in my classroom of Grace Kelly knitting on a film set. I like to look at it when I knit during a wee break.
Great post today! My husband and I saw some of Chihuly's art when it was at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC in 2018--completely overwhelmingly fabulous! Also, my husband aced Christmas by giving me the book "People Kniiting". Loved the coloring book and the Lopi book! Thanks for sharing!
I saw a wonderful Chihuly exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia many years back, including a glass tunnel. Truly beautiful and inspirational.
Fantastic, so enjoyed seeing your books. I love Kusama's work too and Dale Chihuly; we were lucky enough to have a big exhibition here in London at Kew Gardens, with so many of his glass sculptures in amongst the plants and flowers, as well as in the greenhouses. There is a massive chandelier at the V&A which is fabulous but very much in need of a dust... I can't begin to imagine how scary that would be as a job! Have a lovely holiday both.
The brilliant V&A Quilts 1700-2010 book arrived today, stunning resource and thank you for the recommendation 😊 Thankfully a preloved book, last one they had! Looking forward to a good read this weekend.
I'm always interested in seeing what inspires people's creativity. . . . Chihuly is fabulous, that's a great book! Also museums that inspire, such as Victoria & Albert museum, went there for the first time this summer.

Thank you for sharing some of your favorite books with us :) Our art museum has a Chihuly chandelier that is amazing! While watching this I was reminded of my sons when they were little saying, "just one more book please!"
I was able to see an exhibit by Chihuly at the Portland Art Museum. It was amazing and inspiring. He is an incredible artist and visionary. I plan to go to the Seattle area museum one day soon since I live close (in Oregon). I'm very intrigued by Yayoi Kusama and hope to see her dots in person. I decided to purchase the People Knitting book. That was so interesting. I loved seeing some of your beautiful books, and look forward to seeing more in the future. And Arne, I understand the mess. When inspiration hits, things are pulled out and piles of creativity are everywhere. Thank you for this video.

I just laugh in joy because your studio reminds me of my creativity center! Lots of ideas going on. I do hope, one day there will be a kids book about Arne as a young boy, through his playing, working, knitting under the blankets and outfits for his sister’s doll ( not his sister) and of course, his love of sweets. Arne, will your book be in mystery format, like Nancy Drew and Encyclopedia Brown, or a simpler, wacky and endearing format like Junie B. Jones and Nate the Great series? How about you, Carlos?
