Mighty Atom ( Tetsuwan Atomu? ) is a side-scrolling platform game published by Konami based on the manga and anime franchise Mighty Atom by Osamu Tezuka. The game was released exclusively in Japan for the Family Computer on February 26, 1988.The game consists of a total of ten stages. The game's objective is to recover the money that was stolen from Professor Ochanomizu's lab.The damage

system is original and different.Atom's remaining life energy is determined by the amount of uranium (abbreviated "uran" in the game) he has left in his disposal. Atom begins each stage with 300 uranium points, that will gradually decrease with each second. Every time Atom gets hit by certain enemies, falls from a pitfall, or runs out of time, the professor will use his remaining uranium points to rebuilt Atom.

The player can also summon the professor during gameplay to replenish their uranium. The game ends if both, Atom and the professor, use up all of their uran points.Atom's actions consists of a standard jump and punch attack, as well as the abilityto fly through the air for a limited period. To fly, the play must hold down the directional pad left or right while jumping three times in a row. The player can also collect coins.

One of my childhood favorite ❤️ i remember finishing this game
Astro Boy can explode himself if you get shot by what enemies fire. Which is too dark.
Astro Boy was like the very first anime(Japanese Cartoon) ever....predating Speed Racer by several years...I think. Always reminded me of the Big Boy restaurant mascot...it must've been the greasy spikey black hair...also was the primary inspiration for Mega Man. Too bad the game was kind of wierd/flawed from a regular gamer's stand point.
Yes as a kid I remember when Netflix was new they had everything on there and I watched this astroboy movie and I always thought they got the idea of megaman from him
This game is weirder than I remembered.
Now I'm creating level design for megaman maker
I'm surprised Konami didn't localize this in the US. I have a feeling it was due to licensing fees and the fact that Nintendo only allowed publishers to publish a certain amount of games a year.
Cool Game! its just as good as Astroboy Omega Factory!
Since it's made by Konami, you think it's gonna be their standards, right? Wrong! It's actually developed by Home Data of all people, believe it or not.
Superpan21 so that was the reason why this game was so terrible !
@@phj9894 And the Snes game as well!
And later they talk about LJN. Only AVGN fans Will understand What i mean.
@@retroman2026 LJN not LBJ.

I edited it
AVGN needs to Review This game!
Fuck that.
LOL!
I'll sum up what AVGN would say in a review with 1 word:
*AASSSSS!*
How it's in Japanese
I think that would be fun seeing him discuss a bit about Mighty Atom/Astro Boy
There's a part of me super disappointed that I never played this game but also... seems pretty weird.
Do there exist fan translations of this game? It looks fun and I may look into getting a copy, but I’d like to know what the characters are saying in the dialogue boxes.......
Also, if you’re wondering why all the BGM except for the title screen sounds incredibly bland and why the game has so many questionable design choices, this game wasn’t actually programmed by Konami; they merely published it. Home Data programmed the game, and even they went on to make better games (such as Cosmic Epsilon, a 3D shoot ‘em up game similar to Sega’s Space Harrier that uses very neat 3-D terrain designs that look incredible for the NES)
Well that explains the more simplistic look of the game, no way Konami would have a game look this outdated upon release. Especially considering how even 1987 Konami games looked far more advanced than this one.
@@Bloodreign1despite the fact I prefer the more detailed looks from the time and later on, I do think black box era esque art direction has its charm
Okay, how does the bell part in 2:47 work? I'm trying what I see here and I'm not getting anywhere.
Dragonrider1227 Unfortunately, the Bell part is totally random and different every time. The only advice one can give is to Reproduce Exactly the musical notes that the game give you in the right order.
Heroes of Xanadu - Sloth Wow, This game is a load of crap XD Thanks for the advice.
Dragonrider1227 You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Heroes of Xanadu - Sloth You're welcome :)
Sadly one of Konami's worst games on the FC, besides the port of Yie Ar Kung Fu. For a game from 1988, it looks and feels like a game from 1986 due to how simplistic it looks going up against other FC/NES games from that same time frame that it came out.
I played this before when I was in Elementary, I can't pass stage 2 lol
Jump speed is questionable
Atleast coin animation looks nice, it's almost like it comes from some weird amiga game
Where can I find this game?
2011panchi Emuparadise.me
Heroes of Xanadu - Sloth Thank you.
2011panchi You're welcome... Good luck!
Not anymore.
How do you fly in the game? I can't get past the first level because of the wall that requires flying over.
Yoshikins Shard Push the right button, always keep on walking and while you walk, push the jump button three time.Timing is important when you push the jump button. The jump you do got to be regular and time like a clock. One - Two - Three - and fly away!
Yoshikins Shard Hope this information help you out.Good luck with the game. The ending is awesome (*_*)
Thanks XD
Yoshikins Shard You're welcome.
That is a very weird control scheme. They couldn’t have just done like “up+a to enter flight mode, and down+a to drop back down to the ground?”
Quiero conseguir ese juego donde lo encuentro... Alguien sabe.. Yo lo jugaba y lo pasaba todo..
Descarga un emulador
Te acordas como era para volar?
@@cristiancanizarez2670 ya no me acuerdo de mucho, que va son muchos años ya.
I don't like the way he jumps.
UGH! This is awful!!!
It was outsourced to a lesser known developer, which might explain why it feels subpar compared to other Konami games. As far as Osamu Tezuka games for the NES go, Phoenix is way better, and that was made by Konami in house.
