I love the fact that one of the greatest violinists in the world is not just willing but genuinely enjoying doing this. Says a huge amount about the classical music industry and the people in it.
It's been this way for a long time. It's a total misconception by people who have stereotyped it that classical music is boring or dying. It's the lack of curiosity that kills everything.

@@mithulahiri4105 tbf its more that ppl don't go beyond their comfort zone to enjoy music beyond what they usually hear more than anything, and most people learn of classical music bc they are learning it in a young age/their parents like it which tends to be ppl with more money, creating the perception that ppl think of classical music that way.
I will admit that the stereotype of arrogance is somewhat true IF the listener strictly sticks to classical music. When I was younger, I was pretty arrogant about my liking of classical music and was unreceptive of other genres before I started to exponentially broaden my palette in my now teen years.
@@quinkana1 Dont have to be rich or snobby to like classical music. I listen to everything from electronic, techno, synth stuff to rap, rock, some metal, folk music, sometimes pop and kpop and of course classical. Piano, violin, cello or the whole orchestra with soloists or without. The only music i can't stand is dubstep and similar stuff. Partly why i don't like most heavy or metal in general either. Simply loud and erratic is not my jam. But the few metal heads i know are one of the most kind and nice people.

Gives it so much more energy!
Also, you can see her improving. Her second, even faster attempt is noticeably smoother than her first attempt. She started assimilating that piece at double speed immediately.

I am the sort of person who listens to all types of music but I still cannot understand or appreciate true quality. As long as it sounds nice, i am all for it. I probably came across this channel years ago when you were roasting someone claiming to be the world's fastest violinist.
I came for roast but stayed for the comedy and liked learning about actual classical music and composers. Not going to lie, I did not know who Hilary Hahn was until she came on your channel. Now, I am all excited to see her perform live in LA next month at the Disney Concert Hall. I have all also occasionally started to go to other concerts held at the venue.

As an amateur body language interpreter this video is really fun to watch. Specially since Hillary seems just as excited and on edge as you guys. Which is weird, since one would expect that being a world class soloist who performs on large stages professionally makes you control your nerves more than us mere mortals.
What in her body language makes her look nervous? I'm pretty good at reading body language but I rely on intuition and being familiar with the person. I'm curious what you see.

Start with a weighted hoop! I thought they'd be harder but it's actually much easier to learn with, and it's super rewarding finally developing the skill after never being able to do it my whole life. Just get a cheap thick cooshy weighted hoop and look up a couple of UA-cam videos for tips, and you'll be amazed at how fast you can improve!

Yeah I turned the playback to 0.5 speed and hers is a little rough but the notes are there. The sacrilegious guy is definitely NOT playing notes. Haha

Adored Hillary for many years and seeing her transition through her career and connect with audience, fans and colleagues so beautifully and authentic is 😍. Interesting that some find TwoSet Violin through Hillary Hahn and others find Hillary Hahn through TwoSet Violin. She had me as adorable when she interviewed a betta fish on her channel years ago that swims into view now and then. It was almost an early ASMR vid. She has a holiday hang video making ornaments from last year that is so soothing and cool, watching her craft and try to sing notes off of wrapping paper 🎶🙂. She jumps into a lake in Norway wearing one of her performance gowns in another! Her Tiny Desk is a great watch as well. Love her. Thanks for posting this! I am subbed and following. ✌️
