Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Star Trek Legacy for Xbox 360 developed by Mad Doc Software and published by Bethesda Software.
Star Trek Legacy: is a starship simulation game that is essentially an actionized version of Starfleet Command 3. In this game one can control up to 4 starships in 3d space, in an attempt to complete mission objectives. These objectives range from destroying enemies to scanning planets. The games campaign spans all Star Trek eras and features the voices of all the past Star Trek Captains.

Easily one of the best console Star Trek gamers ever, but there are some aspects of it that really suck, and I hate that previously completed missions aren't replayable. I had to create entirely different profiles just so I could save at various points in the game and re-experience the TOS and TNG eras.
This is one of the few good Star Trek games. All the other one were trying to be gears of war third person shooters. We don't want that, we want space battles. Good job on this
I would like a Star Trek game kinda like Skyrim, a big open world that can be explored on foot or maybe a no mans sky type of game with Star Ship battles and randomly generated worlds to explore/pillage/destroy, although I am talking about what no mans sky could have been and not what it actually was of course.

TurtleBurger try out Star Trek Online, it's not perfect but it's certainly not bad.
It’s a good game but so is the 3rd person shooter game,you obviously don’t speak for me(you don’t even know me & who I am & if you did you still don’t speak for me,nobody does)these are facts.

Was a good game, personally I enjoyed Kobayashi Maru Bridge Commander to this game but sometimes I do come back to this, the plot was well laid out (yet underwhelming in execution, as described later), the gameplay was drawn out at times but the combat was brilliant, each ship functioned differently to reflect their respective era, the limitations with the number of ships you can have was one of the major downsides for me (Compaired to Bridge Commander which let you have as many ships as your computer could handle), this game and BC both suffered from the same problem through: Licencing, both games tried to get as many voice actors from the TV series as possible. Unlike BC (Which only brought in Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner) Legacy brought in ALL of the main protagonists, with their original actors for voice acting, because of this, the plot seems arbitrarily stuck together as Legacy desperately tries to make use of all these actors, bringing in all these actors also caused huge budget problems as they had to pay off all these actors, the PC version of Legacy also suffered from huge backlash due to the clunky, and at times, unresponsive control scheme which really ruined most of the game for me, BC also suffers from this problem too, yet this is instantly negligible due to BC having button mapping for keyboards, the XBox verson of Legacy is considered by many a much better game simply due to its superior controls.
In conclusion:
Gameplay: 7/10
Story: 5/10
Controls: 2/10
Graphics: 9/10
Total Score: 7/10 (Enjoyable)

At first I didn't really like this guy, I admit but now after seeing like 2-3 reviews from this guy with which I completly aggree and like, I can honestly say ignore the haters keep up the good work.
I loved this game. Only thing I would change was warp drive. I hated how it was just a quick burst. The game wasn't anything special and the online multiplayer was very basic but the game was just simple fun

So in the end, is the PC version better with those mods mentioned or is the 360 version better to get?
to play this game on pc without lag buy this laptop HP F125WM it is strong enough for high settings and Anti-Aliasing for the game
Cus what's the point in getting ships wen you can only piolet 1 ship but a large ship yard of ships but you can piolet 1 ship on Star trek online that doesn't make sense turn them to ais

What about the lack of save on the XBOX 360 version of this game if you fail the mission you have to start the whole thing over ? Which seems no good also so you have to beat the game in 1 sitting that seems kinda of backwards with most of today's games having a way to save and pick up where you left off why did nobody fix this after all these years.
Does it have the refit enterprises AKA the Enterprise 1701-A ?

Wish Star trek online could come up with a idea like if you want to have ai ships buy extra ship fleet slot and it adds 1 or how many slots you git but adds 1 enamys wile you have an allied ship on Star trek online
Meaning 1 allied ship 1 enemy ship extra or 10 allied ships 10 enemy ships like that

The controls for this are ludicrous. I don’t want a game that requires more thought and attention than my job, which at least I get paid for. I don’t know who this would appeal to, and I’m a Trek fan.

The xbox, pc version was too buggy and if you did get the mods you would make it as good as the 360 version
I dont even get where your coming from there is nothing wrong with the base version on PC and if your PC cant run this I think you should through your PC out even my windows 8.1 tablet could run it.

God dammit CGR please stop degrading the quality of your reviews by having GeneralLotz review anything. He's terribly biased, has a god awful personality and he accentuates all the wrong words when speaking making him hurt to listen too. I was so happy when you started doing more PC reviews only to have that happiness crushed when I realized you rely on this guy for all of them.
That's not the problem with I have with him at all. PC gaming always has been and always will be superior to console gaming in every way. I just find his personality, voice, and inability to criticize anything very annoying. As far as being biased, he seems to only review games he really enjoys, thus all his reviews are rather biased. Not to mention anyone that praises HL2 as much as him has no clue what makes a good game.

This game sucked! I expected so much more from the hype. The ship models look good but that’s about it. Why do the ships literally run into planets? The story was dumb. Voice acting was horrible. The ships handled like rocks in quicksand. Just a bad, bad, bad game. I was so disappointed.

Boring... no, but it is a pretty bad game.
The issue really is while the Multiplayer aspect is awesome, it honestly is the ONLY reason to think about getting this because the Single Player storyline is poorly written with far too much fan service going on.
To be honest most of the issues I have with Legacy I also have with the Starfleet Command Series... mainly that the AI doesn't listen to you, you often feel like you're waiting down arbitrary cool-down timers that don't make fights seem more epic but just deliberate grind fests.
The Controls and UI often lead to massive frustration, and to top it off the difficulty Curve spikes all over the place for no reason.
As I said the Multiplayer is the real saving grace as combat is far more clutch, with real players you can get some good and tense moments in fights. Really does make it a lot of fun to play ... but the single player is something you grind through because your a Star Trek fan.
With some work, Legacy could've been a great game.
