@Henry Burris Some of the comments are from a nostalgic and jaded perspective. Looking at Taz Wanted at an objective level, there's very little good in the game. On GameCube, you can do *so much better* when it comes to 3D platformers. But just concerning Taz Wanted itself, there are too many problems with the gameplay--namely framerate, glitches galore and horrid collision detection--to even be able to ignore or justify them. Honestly, the game doesn't start bad. The first level in the zoo does set the course for what will be the rest of the game--it is an unabashedly repetitive experience however. Still, at least in this level, all seven Taz posters need to be obtained differently and require good effort. The repetition sets in after the second world. Taz Wanted is frankly far too tedious and unpolished to really be worth recommending even to a Looney Tunes fan. Only a masochist (me) would even dare try going for 100% completion as you're pretty much guaranteed to burn out 10+ hours of you life right there thanks to how tedious and poor the platforming really is.
Taz: WANTED is an older flawed 3D platformer. It is a difficult game with lots of exploration, tough jumps, and spatial puzzles, but frustration almost always comes with true challenges. It's part of the package, and knowing this before playing braces you for it so you aren't disappointed like our dear butt-hurt reviewer here. (Imagine if he was told Super Meat Boy is like Mario!) There are some cheap areas, but it's mostly your fault if you lose. Like most of the early 2000 games, you can always master the clunky controls, explore the open maps and eventually know where everything is, and learn to easily get around subpar camera angles. Because of the challenge, and the fact you tick-off Yosemite Sam with each deliciously destructive accomplishment, victory is extremely sweet. It's an amazing and hilarious game, and those with low patience should not attempt. Why so butt-hurt, Derek? Bad day? Or are you just trying to prove that millenials are spoiled rotten and need things spoon-fed to them? This is a gem to be appreciated by those who are in the mood for a laugh and in the mood to spend time on a challenge. If this were made in 2015, maybe for lack of polish it deserves this beating you give it, but 2002? It gets a high pass in my book.
Oh hell ya man I’m even replaying it now in 2020 and It’s definitely no where near a bad game it’s fun to conquer all the tough jumps and spatial puzzles as you put it , so many years later.
Sorry but you should play more of this game instead of just the 1st level and then review it, I will guarantee that you will like it (a bit) more! Overall it was a nice review, well edited.
I was thinking about this game few days ago. one of my favorite childhood games. Also the soundtrack is good. even though, it has problems, I had fun playing it.
What makes me sad is that the end of CGR is going down like this...Derek, I'm not sure if you are forced to review these games but you should review what YOU want to review. #GoOutWithABlaze
I feel like the reality of the show ending is hitting Derek and its coming out in these reviews. Start a new channel and I'll support it! We love ya Derek.
bro just dont review games anymore ..... like taz wanted considering the year it was out is actually really good. Also the graphics are amazing like really did you even see karate taz in the museum level ? coolest shit ever
Damn guys, hearing this channel will end is a huge blow. Thanks for the many amazing reviews which actually in almost all cases helped me to decide to buy the game or not
I don't know about this game, but the things he said were awful could be said about the GameCube in general. Especially the controls. Unless my controller has been messed up since day one.
Don't know how old you are, but in middle school, denim button downs with khakis and Looney tunes ties were popular at dances. Yes it's awful, but it happened.
Nah I love this game yes it has its problems but E.g once you destroy a f?!?!?ing music box it gone for good and destroying things is fun some things aren't clear like in most stages I'd have1-3 sights not destroyed because they weren't clear or I was an idiot
I liked it anyways growing up as a kid with a PS2. Hell, I redownloaded it on PC and replayed the whole thing, 100%, with a PS3 controller and I still found it enjoyable aside from bullshit like the camera getting stuck, awkward animating, Yosemite Sam's repetitive criticism on your destruction, and thay crappy second boss that had the entire arena kicking your ass. It's rather hard to hate a game that's based on Looney Tunes... Except Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle...
I was playing this just the other day, I actually liked it even if I do agree with some of the criticisms. Overall though I thought it was fun and really developed some of the key Looney Tunes characters that appeared such as Taz and Sam.
I am sad to see Bratz, Cooking Mama, Taz, and other just B-Grade games getting the last bit of CGR Undertows time and hard work. I'd like to see the show go out with a bit of a bang by reviewing some AAA classics or at least more hardcore games. Don't go out with a whimper, go out with a bang guys!
Many games at the time had similar designs, be it with the camera or the layout, but that's what really made them great. Just take it look at the SpongeBob series and the Scooby Doo series, or hell even Ed, Edd and Eddy.
I know only one Taz Mania game that didn't suck; It's called Taz-Mania and it's on the Master System. It's got the same artwork on the cover as the Genesis game but besides that it's a totally different game. The Genesis version sucks.
Idk. This review.. seems rushed. Games good actually. Try getting further than level 2. Um Idk talk about the boss battles. The cool designs in world 2 and 3. Power ups. You missed some things. Try playing more. I haven't played the game in 5 years cause I can't find a copy. But I remember it being fun. Thou I do agree the controls and camera at times was annoying. But that can't be the full focus of a review.
lmfao when I was a kid I actually traded zelda collector's edition for this shit, no need to say I regret it nowadays, even moreso because by that time I had not yet beaten ocarina or majoras mask (still haven't finished majoras btw)
this game has awful control that makes this game just not fun to play. If they doubled his jump height and took out some of the more akward level design this game would actually be really good.
What the heck is he talking about? This game rocks!
heck yh you tell em joe! :)
The most underrated of games.
I love this game it brought me great memories

@Polymath Games just play the game and decide for yourself
I have no problem with a collectathon, and games with clunky controls because I am simply used to it after all these years of playing games.
sorry but this game is god damn good me and cadicarrus like this game
man stfu lmao stop crying all over the comments

This game scared the shit outta me each time I got caught by the guards when I was 12ish but I beaten it on PS2 good shit 11/10 would get caught again
I used to shit my pant with those purple boxes. It still scares me a bit today.
So you were 12 and you were getting scared of this game? You must have been a huge wuss.
I loved this game.
This is a great game on the PC! What do you mean horrible???
I agree. He should do a review on the other platforms, especially the PC version!
No, because I have the exact same version (GC) and I always thought it was really fun.
I was thinking about this game few days ago. one of my favorite childhood games. Also the soundtrack is good.
even though, it has problems, I had fun playing it.
Those voice overs literally sound like they're on the gameboy advance
Oh my god the nostalgia just floored me I used to play this game for hours on half days back in elemtary school.
What makes me sad is that the end of CGR is going down like this...Derek, I'm not sure if you are forced to review these games but you should review what YOU want to review. #GoOutWithABlaze
One of my favourite childhood games!
It's not too bad. I mean it's no polished gem but it's a decent platformer.
CGR will be missed
I remember this game! My uncle bought this for me by accident when I actually wanted Ty the Tasmanian Tiger lol.
Both are amazing!!
WackyDino Entertainment lol not really. I rage quit after a week of Taz and traded it in at Gamestop
😆
I feel like the reality of the show ending is hitting Derek and its coming out in these reviews.
Start a new channel and I'll support it! We love ya Derek.
In what video did he say the show was ending? Because I'm lost
bro just dont review games anymore ..... like taz wanted considering the year it was out is actually really good.

I don't know about this game, but the things he said were awful could be said about the GameCube in general. Especially the controls. Unless my controller has been messed up since day one.
I used to watch the Taz cartoon when I was a lad.
this was a fun game
I graduated from high school in 2002. You did a great review Derek...keep them going to the end in December....
Don't know how old you are, but in middle school, denim button downs with khakis and Looney tunes ties were popular at dances. Yes it's awful, but it happened.
This was released the same year I was born! Great video! :)
Nah I love this game yes it has its problems but E.g once you destroy a f?!?!?ing music box it gone for good and destroying things is fun some things aren't clear like in most stages I'd have1-3 sights not destroyed because they weren't clear or I was an idiot
Wow my old account hi🖐
This game have alot of problems
But i love it
I liked it anyways growing up as a kid with a PS2. I was hooked on this game as a kid when I was like 9 or 10 years old. Loved this shit. Took me forever to figure out how to beat some of the levels.
I believe there was a Taz game on the DS made by WayForward some time ago. I think it was called Looney Tunes: Galactic Taz Ball or something.
I was playing this just the other day, I actually liked it even if I do agree with some of the criticisms. Overall though I thought it was fun and really developed some of the key Looney Tunes characters that appeared such as Taz and Sam.

I loved this game as a kid might be remembering it with tinded glasses mind
I remember this game. Beat it once, and never again.
You gotta play Go! Go! Hypergrind! On the Gamecube! Spumco created skateboarding game with wacky characters?!
Many games at the time had similar designs, be it with the camera or the layout, but that's what really made them great. Just take it look at the SpongeBob series and the Scooby Doo series, or hell even Ed, Edd and Eddy.
Derrick... are you going to continue your reviews after CGR:U closes... because I'm going to be really sorry to see you go away ;'(
He said he has future plans and projects in the works but he doesn't want to reveal what they are until this channel is officially over.
18 months later no news..
But there was a shopping mall hunt in the game.
I know only one Taz Mania game that didn't suck; It's called Taz-Mania and it's on the Master System. It's got the same artwork on the cover as the Genesis game but besides that it's a totally different game. The Genesis version sucks.
21/08/14, this game looks ok i prob would have enjoyed this for a few hapless hours.
Personally I thought it was a good game but you’re entitled to your opinion
Wow, I forgot how bad the sound mixing was in the game.
You'll be missed Derek... :(
Class of 2002 represent!
My friend Gordon will be gutted.
Idk. This review.. seems rushed. Games good actually. Try getting further than level 2. Um Idk talk about the boss battles. The cool designs in world 2 and 3. Power ups. You missed some things. Shame because it looks really nice
Let's be real here Derek, Good Charlotte was never "a thing" haha
lmfao when I was a kid I actually traded zelda collector's edition for this shit, no need to say I regret it nowadays, even moreso because by that time I had not yet beaten ocarina or majoras mask (still haven't finished majoras btw)
Nostalgia!

I love this game!!
