Such a great family friendly Friday night show with good ole clean cut humor the series made its debut in January 1979 it was a regular in our house after The Incredible Hulk and right before Dallas sure do miss those much simpler and happier times God Bless John Schneider and all those that made it possible I know a few of the older cast members have passed on but the memories they left us with will last forever.
I watched The Dukes of Hazzard when i was growing up in the late 70s and early 80s . It was and still is one of the Best Family oriented T.V. shows ever made . I still can't hardly believe they won't rerun the show on T.V. because of the flag on the General Lee . That's just crazy to call a inanimate object racist .
My son hopes to meet you…. We live in Hammond. He has everything possible of Dukes of Hazard….shirt, TV tray, DVDs, and VHS.ext. so glad you still talk about Dukes of Hazard. My son is challenged…but knows ever thing possible. Thank you for all the stands you have made. Blessings
The show came about at a time in my life when there were only 2 things that meant anything in my life and that was girls and cars and not always in that order.lol well the more popular the show got. I started noticing General Lee cars popping in the area I lived in. I wanted one so bad.It was awsome time the show was spectacular. Thank for the memories.

John Lant & Schneider - I was just thinking the SAME thing, it is SO refreshing to hear a television icon talking to us like it was us 1 on 1 w him. I’m 52 & this dude is my best memory of Friday Nights as a kid & he’s not pretentious 1 bit, you can’t help but love him all over again, but in a different realm. The show had perfect chemistry & an eclectic group of characters & think about “Daisey Dukes”, she was so hot, a style of shorts are named after her, Luke was a great co-star & it’s refreshing to see them still so close. I wish I could go watch a few episodes now!!!
The Dukes of Hazzard was my all time favorite show growing up and i really enjoy watching your videos and especially all the inside information about the show and cast members. It would be a dream come true if i was to ever meet You or Tom Wopat or any others from the show but being on disability funds for events n stuff are very limited.

Fascinating! While you were doing that, my days consisted of 6AM wake up. 7AM catch the bus. Classes and recess until around 11:30AM. Lunch and recess. Back in class around 12:30. Classes until a little after 2PM. Bus ride home at around 2:45PM. Home, outside, homework, dinner, and bed. I could not WAIT until The Dukes kept me company on those special nights. Thanks so much for sharing. God Bless.
John, what was your initial reaction when you saw the General Lee for the first time? Can you do a video about that memory of yours please, I think many would find the story very interesting! Thank you for sharing!
Danny J. Rumbles this is a great idea, I also remember the first time I saw the General and what an impression it made on me. I know John has said before that it was The dirty Mary crazy Larry car, but I would like to also know what the rest of the cast also thought about the car. What did they talk about the first time they saw the General. Great idea!!
Were you ever surprised watching back an old show and seeing someone that "made it" in Hollywood? The one that still gets me is seeing Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell as a robber.

My question is: you said you filmed 12 hrs a day 5 days a week so how many days did it take to finish one episode or was it one episode filmed per day or per week for you and tom? And if it took multiple days did they make a big deal every couple of days or every day today we are shooting this episode or this episode? Or was it you guys came in and just filmed a bunch of stuff and then they mix matched it however they could fit it?
These Dukes videos are great! We’re rewatching the show on IMDBTV these days. Great fun! I watched “Dukes in Hollywood” last week, too. Great show from my childhood. Thanks, John!
Thanks for shareing these story's it's great to hear what working on a show like dukes was really like....it was one of the all time greats and still holds up to this day!
John, while you were cruising around in your Porsche to your job on set I was an 8 year old who would gather on Friday evenings to watch Dukes with my dad and grandpa. That was our regular Friday evening routine for quite a while. You mentioned the Hazzard square. I live 10 minutes from Metamora, IL and it's town square. Everytime I drive thru there I am reminded of the Hazzard square as a lot of the buildings look like the Hazzard square, especially the gazebo in the center that looks a lot like Hazzard. Good memories. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for explaining you on the set !! My son n our family loved the Duke boys ! He still has the original dukes of hazard sheets to this day lol ! My son was 2 years old then n would say " Bo Luke mommy "!! He got so excited ! He even got two parakeets n named them bo & Luke ! Question....Did you like the remake of the dukes of hazard the movie ? If you saw it ..that is ...you still look as great as you ever did John take care & God Bless ! Ps I watch all your videos as soon as you upload them or if you go live singing ....Do you keep in touch with Tom W ? Or luke? Thanx!

Hey John, I was born 1970, I grew up in rural North East PA which Ironically Resembles Hazard County!!! I was just the right age when Dukes Came Out to be a childhood fan, and a fan for life! The show is still my favorite show of all time. It brought more smiles to my face and warmth to my heart. My sisters and I never missed an episode! Dukes was on friday night, I think the 7pm or 8pm timeslot, we were all hooked!!! We watched Dukes until it went off the Air, then in syndication. A funny side note, when my Father's family came from Italy 🇮🇹 to visit us, They all pleaded with us to take them to Hazzard County, to see Bo and Luke Duke, Daisy and Uncle Jessie!!! LOL. They were so enamored with the Duke Boys and they just couldn't believe Ya'll weren't the Geniuine Article, LOL. John, I have a question, was it difficult for you to break into more diverse roles when Dukes ended?? Being that The Entire USA, Heck the world was in Love with "Beauregard!" BO DUKE!!! Two of my favorite Roles you played were CHARLEY CROSS from DREAM HOUSE, "LISTEN YOU MAGGOT," AND "THAT THERE IS MISSISSIPPI LOGLOLLY PINE!,"""LOL!!!! I Also loved your Portrayal of Eddie Macon in Eddie Macon's Run. Of course your rolls in Smallville and The Have Nots were great one's too!!! I also am a big fan of your Country Music!! CHRISTMAS CARS WAS AWESOME!! Let's face it, Bo Duke/John Schneider will go down in history as a World Wide House Hold Name. John, I think Your a Terrific Actor, Musician, Performer, Etc.!!! More importanly John, your a hell of a human being, you really care about your fans as the real people they are. You give so much back to your fans, and community!!! Your the Geniune Article. You don't hide behind anything your, your true self. Selfless and generous, you have a huge heart. Most importanly Your All Soul. Your a Blessed man, and you Know it and and you share it and pass his word around. Your a Good Christian and you act on it. Your Celebrity never gets in the way. It's actually quite the opposite, you use it to spread Love on a Grander Scale then the average man could. Your feet are planted firmly on the ground. John, I have been a life long fan of yours from the very begining of your Dukes Days. I am not talking about John Schneider the Bo Duke, But John Schneider the Man. Love, Respect, And Peace,🙏🤝🇺🇸, Your Brother in Christ, Michael

I met John Schneider in 2006 in Enterprise, Alabama it was an honor and I hope I get to meet him again soon!
My childhood hero! A highlight of my 8 year old childhood. Thank you so much for taking me back in time. Great stories! Thanks for all your stories and memories you share.
Very interesting video John big fan! I'm only 26 so I didn't get to watch the show when it was originally on but when I was little I watched the reruns on TNN. Probably seen every episode at least 100 times lol. Never gets old!
Jake Roberts same!!
John, I've been a fan my whole life. I live I Nashville and at Dukesfest one year you signed my Dukes DVD. I've always loved your singing as well. Thanks for the memories BO.
Glad you enjoyed working and playing as Bo Duke. I enjoyed watching the show
Thanks from the uk john , I was born in 73 , the show was all I grew up on , I loved it , Massive memories for me thankyou to all of the cast past and present
Thanks John, this is great,, I can only imagine the excitement of my 6 year old self to be able to watch a youtube video of John Schneider. Favorite memory watching The Dukes, watching with Grandpa on a Friday Night. I think watching him laugh at Boss and Roscoe chase or plot against you. Was the greatest. I can still see him laughing in his chair.
I was born in 1996, my dad showed me the dukes when I was 5 or 6, I'll never forget the feeling I had watching that show with him! Thanks for the memories
Awesome video! I have been watching The dukes of Hazzard every evening. I think it is one of the greatest TV shows of all time! 👍

Sukes! HAHAHA YEEEEHAAAA! Thank you John for the set breakdown explanation! I hope to shake your hand someday, sir!!!
Hello John... don't know if you have a chance to read all these comments but thought I would take a chance. I am now 56 years old and a lifetime fan of the Dukes... Watched it back in the day and have always watched the reruns and have the whole box set of DVDs. I really appreciate and enjoy these informational videos that you are doing since it puts so much more insight into the show that we would never have known about otherwise.

@@johnrichardschneider3741 thanks for the reply John I really appreciate it. I just sent a message to you at the address you provided for Hangouts and attached screen captures of my comment and your reply over there so you would know what I was talking about
Wow... That was really insightful, .... A lot of information about the daily routine... And how there was a pattern to the daily production, informative... I like it :-)
Such a great family friendly Friday night show with good ole clean cut humor the series made its debut in January 1979 it was a regular in our house after The Incredible Hulk and right before Dallas sure do miss those much simpler and happier times God Bless John Schneider and all those that made it possible I know a few of the older cast members have passed on but the memories they left us with will last forever.
When my nephew was in grade school, we would watch reruns of the show back in the early 2000s.
You are the best!!! Love You, Love You, Love You!!!
This is so awesome find your channel. Thanks for taking the time, John
Thank you. I really enjoyed hear that so much!! Was always a huge fan and never missed an episode.

We Love the Dukes of Hazzard so much that We sit down and while eating supper alot of times We watch an episode of Dukes of Hazzard. My daughter loves the Generl Lee car that she wants to one day get her truck looking like the General Lee. Thanks for sharing A day of Dukes of Hazzard. Hopefully one day you will be close by so we can come to one of your shows. GOD Bless ya.
Who would give this a thumbs down, all he did was give us some insight to what his days were like on the set of dukes. I love the show by the way
A miserable Democrat would give a thumbs down.
It's either Boss, Rosco, Sheriff Little or Sheriff Spike Loomis.
Fascinating thank you - fond memories of the show from here in the UK🇬🇧😀😀😀
John, a whole lotta black people grew up on you and the Dukes and we love you.
Every time I watch one of these videos I'm all fired up to go watch Dukes! So good. Thank you for all you do!
"Just them good ol' boys Never meanin' no harm
fighting the system like true modern day Robin Hoods"
Very nice of you to share your memories and Dukes career with your fans. The Dukes should be back on air.
Love The Dukes of Hazzard!
I've always been a fan. Thank you for your videos. Be safe and well. God Bless you and your family. 💖

I just saw Sid Haig " the clown guy in Rob Zombie movies" in a episode of dukes season 4 episode 18 Miz Tisdale on the Lam. I never noticed this before
Fascinating!
What a great idea. I’d love to hear about that experience from the main mans point of view.
Great topic. Also could he touch on the other cars they considered to be General Lee. And how they finally decided on the Charger.??👍👍🇺🇲
Mr85fordyota , I heard they considered a late 60’s Camaro, but for stunts the car would have crunched up really REALLY BAD.
Its seeing the General as a kid that gave me my life long love of 1968 and 1969 Dodge Chargers
I have the whole Dukes of Hazzard on dvd! Remember watching you guys on Friday nights! Miss those days! I love the car!!
Were you ever surprised watching back an old show and seeing someone that "made it" in Hollywood? The one that still gets me is seeing Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell as a robber.
MICHAEL JENSEN He was also in “One Armed Bandits” at the Boars Nest. Dennis Haskins.
John Schneider my favorite episode is fairwell Hazzard we're Bo flips the General to trick the bad guys who's real life idea was that?
@@JustinMacri007 my two favorites are Go West Young Dukes* and Ghost Of General Lee * am curious was jumping off a building onto a horse as painful as it looked. Bet the Ghost was a hoot to film
Loved the Dukes of Hazzard growing up!! so cool to here the day-to-day production details
Bo duke is my favorite character from dukes of Hazzard
Nice, thank's! Love your singing and patriotism.🇺🇸

I don't see how you worked with Catherine, Holy cow she was beautiful.
We loved the show in the 70s...my kids grew up on the re- runs in the 80s ...thanks for the insight on the Dukes production...also thanks for the commentary and your great you tube channel...Kansas fans...
I wish the rest of the crew was still there I wish I could go to where you're at and hang out with you
Thanks for shareing these story's it's great to hear what working on a show like dukes was really like....it was one of the all time greats and still holds up to this day!
How was it working again with Tom on Christmas Comes to Willow Creek? How did that idea come about and how were you approached?
Loved that too. I. Wondered that
John, while you were cruising around in your Porsche to your job on set I was an 8 year old who would gather on Friday evenings to watch Dukes with my dad and grandpa.
Or luke? Thanx!
How is Luke duke aka Tom wopat doing theese days have you talk with him lately Or Ben aka Cooter? Or bosses nefew. On the show?
We watched Dukes of Hazard with our young kids and now my son has got his 7 yr old son hooked too. It’s a fun show we have all enjoyed. Thank you for sharing your talent.
John, you should have a show called Stories with Schneider I feel like a kid again when you reminisce about the show and your life. I remember when I was young I genuinely thought there was only one general lee used in the show and it survived the jumps and crashes and drowning in the water in ghost of general lee😂 in the words of roscoe, I love it I love it. Thanks John stay safe✌
Absolutely loved this "play by play" you've given of a day in the life, made me smile and get excited back when I was little Again.
Now, how about a "Day in the life of" What you go through? :D
Love the Dukes of Hazzard, still watch it to this day💕💕💕💕💕💕

Hey john i hate that they took the Dukes off
I get it through Amazon prime. You can buy it by the season.
Incredible John!! Thanks for all you give to us lifetime fans!!!!
Mabe I’m missing something but at the start of season five when Coy and Vance came to the show how did bo and Luke leave hazard county if they were on probation
I think Boss Hogg gave them permission to go so they would be out of his hair.
John and Tom went on strike for more money
@@marycornett3165 thats what happened in real life, not what happened on the show as the original question asks.
If I remember right bo and Luke left to run the nascar circuit.
@@leemer1 Yeah I know lol
Hey John' Im still that little boy that didn't miss an episode of the Dukes of Hazzard as I rode my Bicycle all around where the show was being filmed Yup! That little town of Covington Ga.We lived on east street just around the corner from where the legendary jump was made by the General Lee that hill was right beside the feed and seed store thanks for you and the Crew for the memories! The hard work and Dedication
Well he did mention my second favorite show Andy Griffith show.
@stoic lol I always liked the ropers better on the show
John, I loved this video of what a typical day on Dukes Of Hazzard was like. It was very informative and I often wondered what it was like filming the Dukes. I grew up watching this show every Friday night and it was truly the highlight of my week. I was just 10yrs old when the first episode aired in 1979. I've a been a fan every since and still enjoy watching the episodes on dvd with my kids. Thank you so much for years of great entertainment.
Hello John. You look fantastic! I hope all is well. Stay stay safe and healthy. Great to see you. I have 10 seasons of Smallville.

I'm so thankful I grew up watching you guys! I just wish it was on tv today to enjoy.
Hey John,
I was born 1970, I grew up in rural North East PA which Ironically Resembles Hazard County!!!
John,
I think Your a Terrific Actor, Musician, Performer, Etc.!!!
John,
I have been a life long fan of yours from the very begining of your Dukes Days.
I am not talking about John Schneider the Bo Duke, But John Schneider the Man.
Love, Respect, And Peace,🙏🤝🇺🇸,
Your Brother in Christ,
Michael
I loved the show and my wife and I have been watching the show again this last week. I just watched an older video of James Best talking about it too. You guys were a huge part of our lives, especially as kids. Thanks to all you guys who starred in the show and keep it alive.
I was a little kid when the dukes started. I have great memories of watching the show with my grandfather on Friday nights while my parents went out for the night. Thanks for everything John. I wish we could go back to those days!!!
Thanks for sharing John! Since I'm a aspiring actor myself I love hearing story's like this! loved watching you in Smallville as Johnathon Kent. Its one of my favorite TV Shows!

THANK YOU!!! For sharing your experience!! What is was like on set!!! And takeing your time out of your busy schedule!!! To share everything!!! :)
I don't think there were any of those episodes I missed, and though I loved every one of you, Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane made that show so comical. Even at 68 I still watch some of his clips on UA-cam when I need something to smile about. May he rest in peace!!
Hey John thank you for giving back and telling us how all this worked. It's very interesting. I grew up watching yall I couldn't wait for the show to come back on. I cant tell you how you influenced my life at a young age. I had Dukes everything...lunch box, big wheel General Lee...I even have picks where we built ramps that I could hit with one wheel and I got good at riding on two wheels...lol. Then we built ramps to jump our bikes. It's amazing I never got hurt bad trying to jump like the General. You guys are awesome thank you for all the memories and fun childhood. Keep up the great videos sir.
Hey John. Thank you so much for that day in the life! Love that stuff and you describe very well. Really appreciate you.
