Thanks. This looks like it's exactly what I'm looking for and I'm going to order. You should do a torture test on it and see how many rounds it can take until it fails.
this is a great idea keep on it, it will go big especially if you get the patent. for 45$ is a steal considering build up coat on a plate can run 60+. Plus a trauma pad!
I’ve recently ordered from these guys, and i live close to Dallas area. First thing I can tell ya is that the shipping is ON POINT ( at least for me ), it took 2 business days!!! Given I had ordered at night. Excellent price for what it can do, I am sure there are better ones with higher prices, but these will do for now
I ordered one of these and the sides seem to just be Cordura (instead of Cordura + ballistic material like the front). Since splatter moves directly to the sides at a right angle to impact, I'm concerned about whether there is any ballistic material in the sides. Also, the trauma pad is basic closed-cell vs. a real non-newtonian material that hardens on impact, to distribute the force. Overall, this spall guard is pretty thick (much more than, say, Spartan Armor's spall guard) and it's not clear whether I can remove the trauma backer and replace it with another brand, like AR500's. Would like to see some more extensive testing of Tactical Scorpion's with more types of rounds and something that looks for leakage around the edges.
I had extra trauma pads sitting around so I put them behind the Kevlar cover on the strike face and it fits. I figure the combination of media between the base coat AR500 can't hurt.
Soooo... am I just crazy, or did I just realize there is NO kevlar on the edge, so spall is basically going right into my neck... Idk about that one, but I've seen videos and other people's plate covers, and it's JUST FABRIC around the edges, which is definitely where you'd need to not have metal shooting out. Especially the top. Couldn't there have been a strip of kev around the edge?
Nice basic test, but I do have to say one shot is not a good test. You should have taken at least 3 shots at it in different places of the plate to verify just how effective it really is
Does the ballistic aramid "strike face" (for lack of a better word) wrap around the edges of the steel plate? More concerned about the nasty splatter fragments coming out at a 90 degree angle from the steel plate, than the ejecta coming out the front.
edcrobert T Yes I received my order. About 2 weeks ago. It arrived when the email said it would. Fits like a glove on my 10x12 curved plates. Funny thing is AR500 has a July 4th BOGO sale for level 3+ plates so I ordered 2 sets with a full build up coat so now I’ll have 3 sets of plates 2 with a build up coat and 1 with a spall bag. Next is some Hesco Level IV ceramics lol
what a Losey test ! how in the world would you know if the bullet shrapnels that goes upward are cought ?! You should put the plate inside a BOX to see if this Cover stops at least the upward shrapnel that could cut the neck area !! and people are buying this without a proper test !!
Okay but how many shots does it withstand? Am I gonna have to spend $40 Everytime it's hit? Honestly with the price point now it makes no sense to even worry about steel plates when PE and ceramic have came down so much.. Cool product though

Did you ever get around to performing your testing on this spall guard?
Should put a link of the product in the video description area, so potential customers can find your product faster.

There's another test on this one done here on YT. It took a couple pistol rounds, and the rest shredded the sides.

Has protection on sides as well

Ordering now! For front and back... Also you mentioned the back is or acts as a trauma pad?
It is
How much does this weigh?
Will it work with plate and trauma pad?
It has a trauma plate built in, it's the back of the guard. I run these with 3+ plates
liked,subbed and ordered great video!
Will this fit in a veritas lite carrier?
bruh its a 10x12 cover..
@@Rob_Nasty no shit, it adds about an inch of thickness on the plate. Some carriers are a tight fit as it is.
@@logandowning4373 too answer your questio it fits veritas. It is snug.

Kazo Mazo it stopped it ALL get over yourself
It will be in a plate carrier also, so unless you are wearing a plate with this cover glued to your chest wont matter.
@@supremesupreme4289 Ballistic material stops high-speed particles. Cordura? Not so much...
My comes in tommarow
How much dose the spall liner weigh?
How to purchase ?????
Yeah but how many rounds can it take
How many rounds can you take? You planning on standing there, letting someone hit you multiple times? Take the hit and move
Took more than the non coated plate it’s self stopped.
@@sachawilliams7731 its still a valid question
Are you just here to ask stupid questions or are you gonna spend money.. fuck off
Sure, if a bunch of bad guys hose you down with bullets while your on the ground injured.
