I agree with some of Murdaugh's questions, and it is a conflict of interest for SLED to be investigating Miss Becky and helping her at the same time. This how Murdaugh got away with his crimes so long. How they don't get that they have a problem with conflicts of interest is beyond me. When people use others' opinions to confirm their own, they don't always remember that they have done so. It's why I think they should ask the direct question about what, if anything, did Becky say to them. And if she was tampering with the egg lady to get her off the jury, that is illegal too. Again, I see thru the eyes of myself or a loved one being in the defendant's shoe and being innocent. If it is wrong for the innocent, it is wrong period.

I would love to hear your take on Jennifer Crumbley’s attorney-very histrionic, dramatic.
The most likely outcome will be that some jurors might say that yes she said some comments but no, it didn’t influence their verdict. I would think that after all the time that has passed and media coverage, it would be difficult for a juror to look back and confidently say that her comments influenced them against murdaugh and not the evidence presented at trial

They are distorting this process. What I see is gaslighting and disrespect for the court process. The court’s questions will bring about the clarity and facts of what, if anything inappropriate happened

Unless he waived his right to appeal in the Agreement or was advised by the Judge during the colloquy that he was waiving his appellate rights he could technically appeal. And there are plenty of bovine excrement lawyers to assist him.

I’m so irritated with this process! All they should have to do is prove she tampered with the jury!! That’s it! If they prove it then a new trial!! Asking if it influenced them is trying to get in the heads of the jurors and have them defend their verdict. It would be hard to admit it because they will feel they did something wrong but being h influence other than by the evidence. This is way too much to ask of jury’s. The Judge, in my opinion, made the wrong ruling on this matter. Wrong is what I said. lol. Just proving the Clerk did talk and took certain actions should be enough. The jurors will feel scrutinized and pressure to answer what the judge wants you to hear. Ugh. I find myself rooting for the defense because I feel this is stacked against them snd not a goat proceeding. You can’t unring a bell! If she did say or do something then that’s all that is needed. This process seems to be a joke. It’s like now our system is being made fun of. Not a good look at all from my perspective!!

Peter, these questions are public so what’s to prevent the jurors from looking at them prior to their testimony? Put is saying he’s worried about the other jurors finding out what the questions are from today’s juror. It make no sense. The questions should have been sealed.
Well, wouldnt that only be a problem if you believed the jurors are perjurous liars and must be "got ya'd" into slipping up and telling the truth.
I personally trust our juror system and the folks who do their duty.

So, if I understand correctly, if BH really did say the things she’s alleged to have said, it’s not a problem?
Let’s say it didn’t sway anyone or cause doubts, does that make it ok for a clerk of court to say “don’t believe him”, “watch his body language”, etc?
Just the fact that she felt comfortable enough to say those things is a problem.
I think that these are not the same thing - like you can both have her do everything, it be wrong, and at the same time not be grounds for a retrail, given that the defence decided not to engage with any of this till AFTER the case was done. Remember they were there for egg lady that they want to bring back, they were there for the facebook or whatever stuff, they could've at that point stopped the boat too. Poot Famously said he didn't want to litigate it.
The problem is that they are now trying to go after JURORS. That is a problem for the whole country. It's a huge problem for any active cases. We already have a juror that was sent to jail this year, for around 6 months. People will just refuse to be jurors and the legal system will collapse if you start to directly impact jurors and question your verdicts after the fact. And remember they had a deadline to submit issues with the verdict and jury. They had recourse during the trail. They didn't take any of those chances.
I absolutely think that they should go after Becky, if nothing else civilly, but what Murdough is looking for here is put the whole trail back in the box and do it again.
Ultimately Murdough should be working on his appeal, because they botched the trail. In so many ways.
Given that his lawyers are talking about this on podcasts and netflix/hulu series, they have actively been harming his defence by making a retrail more difficult as they are still increasing the profile of this case which is kinda hilarious when they claim that it's a problem when other people have done the same thing. But this creates more drama and a spotlight. It might even be paying the bills. Who knows.
@@Denuhm No, the potential jury interference didn’t become known to the defense until after the verdict was reached.
Even the prosecution - who has put up some quite questionable arguments themselves - has given up on this line of argument.
The 'don't believe him' is definitely off limits, but you have to remember, the judge instructs the jury to watch witnesses closely as they decide whether to believe them or not, so simply saying 'watch his body language' is essentially what they are instructed to do by the court, so that can never cause harm. That one is a total red herring tbh. In
@valhallaw that was never really argued, the prosecution seems to be saying the defense knew close to right after the verdict, hence waiting until September was untimely.

And it still doesn’t address my point. Her comments are either inappropriate all the time or they aren’t. So if it’s fine that she said what she did in other trials, it’s fine here. And I don’t think I it’s fine to make any disparaging comments in front of the jury.

Why are they going through with hearing without first appealing the judge's decision. The limitations on the hearing and the criteria the judge set are a waste of time.
