She is one of those singers who doesn't need to be in perfect voice because she performs the song like she is acting a role. People come for the singing bit they stay for the acting.
Her voice sounds better here than the tour she did right before her semi retirement. She should continue to just sit and sing low pop standards and jazz classics. She sounds wonderful and sultry. Love her!
I met her in a rehab Silver Hill for substance abuse and I was the only teenager there being just 18. I was playing their piano in the lounge and she came down the steps and we hit it off, she took me under her wind. It was surreal playing piano with liza singing the classic standards. She really helped sponsor me during my 31 days.
Lucas, thank you so very much for sharing this incredible moment with us. The world has been a little lonelier for all us Liza fans since she made the decision to move out of the spotlight and has been in a sort of semi-retirement. She has earned that and it's clear she's surrounded by a great deal of love, and my goodness, what an incredible friend the very talented Michael is to her. But still, as happy as we are for her... we have missed her artistry and often find ourselves wondering where she is and if she is OK. These last couple of years have been particularly dark for everyone, following Liza's tours or Liza news seems like a lifetime ago.... And then I clicked on this incredible video. Seeing Liza here, on stage, commanding an audience again and flexing her musicality and skill with lyrics has me smiling from ear to ear - it really feels like a gift to be able to experience this. I found myself saying "She's still got it." as soon as the clip ended. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Lucas for making the video available to us.
Well said! Have really missed Liza, much like a beloved friend or relative you haven't seen for awhile and hope they are doing well. So nice to hear her chat and sing!
@@stevers62 thank you Steve! “A beloved friend or relative”, exactly. I do pinch myself sometimes in disbelieve, at the experiences being a Liza fan brought. I made friends internationally, because of my being a Liza fan. I loved a pretty sheltered life in London, UK until my first trips around the world in my early 20s, travelling alone for the first time, were to see Liza. Some concerts were cancelled, once I met her. But most important of all - were the friends I made. I have lost emails of people that were so dear to me, Sonia, Peter, Mari, Don, Steve W, Gonz, Amke, Florian, Nick… so many. If any of you are out there, if you recognise me - please say hi on Facebook.
She’s literally apart and of American history and she still has that charming ability to wrap you up like a baby in her voice and make you feel like everything is ok.
Thank you Liza for a lifetime of beautiful music....Movies, Concerts, Records, TV, Broadway...you gave US all.....you are a great legend and always will be.....Job well done!
This woman has given me so much pleasure over the years that no matter how she looks she will always be LIZA and one of the greatest performers I have ever known. I'm just thankful she's been in my lifetime. Keep going girl !!!!
She's one of the few stars with famous parents who really deserves her notoriety... She's no Nancy Sinatra that's for sure. Nancy is alright but come on, she can't deliver like Lisa does, even in her old age.
Saw her live twice, including Radio City Music Hall in 1991. By the second time in 2010 (she appeared in my hometown💗), her powers had diminished but she still had the same charisma and magnetism. Just like her mom, she’s a true star - someone who gives her all on stage. We love you, Liza; thanks for all the precious memories.
I've always been huge fan of her mother but in recent years I've been second glancing at her work and she is definitely a star in her own rite. I think her personality and charm is half of what we love about her. I think she sang this song very well and i like it.
One can't 'buy" this kind of talent...it comes from the soul who owns it. She, like her mother, was born to do this. Her treatment to 'EMBRACEABLE YOU' is so moving. LOVE HER...AND a little sad to see her a little on the 'older' side. ps. IT'S MY FAVORITE Gershwin tune, ever!
The second time I saw her live, in Athens Herod Atticus Odeon , she began her concert with this song...what a memory and what a stunning concert ... Love her ! ❤️🎀
Voice or not, there is still a certain radiance to Liza that I guess only comes from being born a star. The shaking of her hand is very alarming, though. I really hope she is alright and in good hands.
@@Benyikoko No. She has viral encephalitis, which there is no cure for. It's caused by a virus that attacks the brain. Eventually you also become unable to speak.
Boy what a treat that was Liza singing live again. The last time I saw her on stage is when she did Cabaret on Broadway she was phenomenally. Just like her mom 💯Judy she was born to be a star and after listening to her sing just now she still is that star ❤️⭐❤️ thank you for that wonderful performance Liza, you still got it!!
This was so beautiful; your phasing and tone are everything that I love in a great singer. A simple inflection is the difference between love, irony or heartbreak. Liza everything you do “the great actress” shines through. Ken, Florida
This is a keeper! Liza may struggle physically a bit, but her art remains undaunted! Thanks to those who posted and to you, Liza for allowing us to experience your sensitive best! Bravo!!!
Thanks for sharing this presentation. Liza is one of my all-time favorites and I really miss seeing her on stage with her magic and her talent. Liza Minnelli is one of those unique beings who came to make this world a better place.
I've been enchanted with this video of Liza Minnelli. I have gotten shivers down my spine, and we know what means, I've been listening to a legend. And she's touched me. Thank you Liza. Martina x
OMG YASSS - Viva Liza! Gorgeous - I'll challenge any of you naysayers to get up and sound that damn good and be this sweet at her age - after the long and amazing life she has had. What a story and what a treat thanks for posting this....
I live in L.A. Wish I had known Liza was going to be appearing with Michael at Vitellos. I would have rushed to be there. Thank you for sharing this video! So good to see her well and back on stage!
I love you Liza with a Z you are just such an icon in spite of all the physical and emotional pain you have endured you still come out smiling and will always be a performer no thee performer. God Bless you Liza xxx
Thank you so much for this magnificent video. Where has the time gone? Liza looks and sounds beautiful and as powerful as ever. I also have Scoliosis. What a strong, brave ,courageous and inspiring woman.I’m having a difficult time trying to hold back my tears😭.Love you Liza, forever 💜. BRAVO 👏🎤 🎹🎶💃🏻🦁🌟🙏
Liza, you are and I bet always will be my number 1 inspiration to the art of the theatre! Thank you so much for all you've shared, making the world your stage and especially for never giving in and to keep sharing your gift of performing from the heart♡☆♡ I hope to one day still have the great fortune and honour of meeting you equally or maybe even more than I hope to one day be able to step out to meet New York itself for I can't think of a New York without Liza Minelli and always feel New York when I enjoy a Liza Minelli performance!
What an abolute treat to see this! Thank you for posting this - and this is a lesson for every performer: Liza is a megastar but certainly no prima donna.... She is human and humble, and so adorable!!
My first Liza album was Gently. Each song of the album is both impressive and unforgettable by Liza's vocal. Not a huge fan (sorry!) but, it is one of my all time favorites!
I give Liza a lot of credit for appearing and giving this performance. She’s obviously not in great shape but boy is she a tough fighter. Great!

Wondrous, artful phrasing. I would pay to hear her whisper the phone book.
I love that she still wears sparkly flare pants, sparkly loose shirts, and spiky haircuts.
It’s most definitely Halston too ♥️
@@lapetitepapillon9101 and her Peretti cuffs, too.

One of my favorite singing divas. Didn't know that she could still sing well.💥

I'm still so very impressed by this lady. She still knows how to sell a song even with her physical limitations. Go Liza baby!!!
She was/is/always will be divine, one of THE great entertainers. Love you, Liza !!!!!!!
