I was in the audience of "The Judy Garland Show" when Liza made her very first TV appearance ! I was 14 and she was 17. So I feel like I've been in on Liza's career from the very beginning. I will be there to the end.
Liza loves to perform. Yes, she is aging, but she is in her element. Liza is performing with friends who care for her in front of people who know how blessed they are to witness her once more. Thank you for sharing.
We will never see an entertainer like LM again. I started seeing her in the late sixties, so she holds a special place in my heart, that's for damn sure.
Liza Minnelli is one of the best at telling a story with any song, if not THE best. She smokes like a fiend and can still belt it out. And the love between her and the audience is amazing.
There still that VIBRATO in her voice .... She souds great and Looks GREAT! ...I cannot tell you how many times I seen LIZA all over the World ... She is BEST, ICONIC and an American LEGEND
She’s still got “it”. She’s so vulnerable and sincere. To hear the goddaughter of the amazing songwriter sing this song in her 70’s is beautiful history and legacy, not to mention still lovely.
@@Shannon-rf5fi Ira Gershwin Ira Gershwin is the godfather of Liza Minnelli and he and his wife Leonore Gershwin hosted Liza's early birthday parties at his home at 1021 Roxbury Drive in Beverly Hills.
Thank you so so much for posting this, Liza clearly loved appearing, and while being frail she only did one song, so she was not overtaxed and she was bathed in the love of her fans. I bet this is exactly what keeps her going. She loves performing. Everyone was very careful with her. Thank you all so much!
Liza is Liza!..despite the years of struggle with pills and liquor..She's manage to deliver stellar performances each time, for her legions of fans the world over!..She's one of a kind..An icon, a true legend!..❤
Thank you for this summer treat. Michael Feinstein is so gifted, he and the orchestra let Liza lead the way and lead she did! This one number is worth 10. She never misses the beat and she can sill belt it out. She looks fabulous in her vintage Halston and Elsa Peretti. We love you Liza.
OMG I LOVE THIS WOMAN SO SO MUCH. She's so amazing, beautiful and pure. A legend, she knows what it means to sing a song from the heart. A great artist who knows what is fleeting and what is real. This made me cry.
She wants so much to share and please. Does she have the pipes she had? NO, but--guess what?--it's LiZa and that's plenty good enough for me. She's given me such joy over the years. Love her!
Wow. What a voice at her age. What a spirit. Her voice has hardly changed at all. The power the tone all there. Incredible! Much love to this beautiful being. 💫💚🌺💓💫✨
What a nice surprise to discover on UA-cam… thank you Michael Feinstein … what a beautiful and touching performance… and yes I teared up a bit, especially when her talent and genius were once again on display…
This is the second time this year that I’ve missed her at the Arboretum. This place is only about 25 minutes from me. How could o have missed this TWICE. I need to see her in my life and I’m afraid I’m running out of time 😭
I have been a fan of Michael since the mid 1980’s I had a collection of CD’s What can you say about Liza Her body is ageing BUT it’s all about the VOICE She still has ‘IT’ Sounds so much like Judy 🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴
TALENT IS TALENT ! It always hurts to see ledgends slow down, or get old. I remember when I was once introduced to Gene Kelly and his wife in the lounge of The Penninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, back in the early 90's. It was so hard to watch him use a walker and need assistance moving around after all those decades of moving so smoothly in films. It always breaks your heart.
Was never a huge fan, but saw Liza With A Z @ the Kennedy Ctr back in 1972 and she killed it. Her years of excess have caught up to her. Barbra is older chronologically, but physically and vocally decades younger. Michael is a great friend!
Well, Liza also had some severe medical problems. Not to mention the years of heavy and intense choreography also contributed to her current frailty. People also just age differently 🤷♀️
She has worked incredibly hard and dancing takes a heavy toll on knees and hips. Plus she partied hard, she is also an alcoholic. All of these things take a heavy toll on her physical health. However, she is genius live performaner, singing a song and communicating a lyric isn't really dependent only on the voice. John Sivorn
She’s had knee and hip replacements due to decades of intense choreography as well as a near death experience with viral encephalitis that ravaged her physical and motor skills. She’s been through quite a bit, physically.
How and why? She’s having a lot of fun and getting a chance to express herself creatively - and no doubt misses performing in front of a loving audience. I doubt she or anyone else was paid for this little cameo, it was purely for the ‘love of it’… how on earth could this be elder abuse? Find some love in your dark little heart.
Donald , I agree with your comment , only a certain group of people can make money out of misery and especially when the person is too young or too old and frail . Follow the Money .
Over half a century ago, her mother was cheered, praised, bravoed (if that's even a word) "She sounds just like Carnegie Hall!" near the end of her life when all that was left was the look and sound of impending death. Now history repeats itself.
of course it's painfull...but don't bother..the church of Liza is just a tiny little bit less fanatical than the church of Judy and under the pretext of adoration they want to revel in every bit of decline till the bitter end..

Ira Gershwin
Ira Gershwin is the godfather of Liza Minnelli and he and his wife Leonore Gershwin hosted Liza's early birthday parties at his home at 1021 Roxbury Drive in Beverly Hills.
The music was written by George Gershwin, and Ira wrote the lyrics after his brother’s death, I believe.
I believe Frank Sinatra was Lorna Luft’s godfather. Lorna is Liza’s sister, right? I’m no expert, just think so from reading.
@@cindybrodie9769 Half- sister. Lorna and brother Joey are the children of Judy and Sid Luft.
We're all only made of clay, including our idols, but our love for Liza is here to stay.

Go Liza Go! Now THIS is the Liza Minnelli we should have seen on the Oscars!
This Liza looks just as “bad” as she did at the Oscar’s.
At least Lady Gaga was lovingly there for her at the Academy Awards.
What we need is a Liza Minnelli/Lady Gaga collaboration. It would be really fab!

She looks like she has lost some weight, but looks and sounds great. She can still belt. Liza forever! And Judy forever, of course!
Seems to be a sweet lady
I guess you have to give her credit?
A Battling 76 year Old! Bless her!
Is it known why she's so impaired and fragile now?
Could be from the decades of drug and alcohol abuse.
She has viral encephalitis, which is swelling of the brain, and there is no cure for it. As it progresses, she may lose her ability to speak.
She has worked incredibly hard and dancing takes a heavy toll on knees and hips. Plus she partied hard, she is also an alcoholic. All of these things take a heavy toll on her physical health.
