I just tried 2 new switches on my 09 explorer, neither of the new ones work at all, the original switch works part of the time. Did you happen to figure yours out?
I checked the fuse listed in the manual. The same bulbs (on the back of the car) work for other things (like locking or unlocking the car and as lights at night). There is a break light across the top of the hatchback that works. I replaced both switches, and no improvement. I still have no working brake lights (2019 Ford Fiesta). Not sure what to do. Thanks

Remove driver and passenger side floor edge trim floor cover panels and look for the red, blue wire that runs to the bcm(body control module) You will more than likely find a broken/corroded wire..it's for the brake lights (usually broken by the parking brake area, but has been known to corrode through on the passenger side, also the harness runs across and under the front seats, so hopefully you won't have to remove the carpet....good luck

To anyone with this car, get rid of it ASAP! I have this same car well a 2014 Focus SE and Im already on my 3rd engine install, 2nd transmission, radio / stereo unit died, multiple transmission control module flashes, and now it's at the shop for a BCM (body control module). I repeat, do not purchase this car...
