They've been forced by partners to stop posting so much as every time they do it's met with negative comments from non believers that outweigh the positive one's. It's still on track for initial shipments this month as they start ramping up production.
Thanks for the video and look forward to your in-depth review when it is ready for release. I get all the skepticism out there. I went to the IRL event event so I know first hand. While things did not go well and I was extremely disappointed I could not see any visuals, I must say my primary concern go there was about the hardware quality. Given this is a first hardware effort initiated by a small software company I had significant doubts. Given the advertised weight, I was very concerned this was going to feel very cheap and look unrefined up close. However, seeing it and holding it in hand, it looked and felt like a proper kit and all those fears went out the window. It was both light, solid and with a much higher build quality feel than any headset out there, outside of AVP. You could see a lot of thought went into the overall design, with purposeful contours, tight seams, and design choices that were made and been evolving to meet purpose and function. To me that quality indicates a team committed to delivering a quality product beyond just software. Glad to hear you felt the same and can't wait to get it in hand even if later than planned.
Where is reading small text, writing code, using keyboard and mouse experience? Is this locked to owner's inter-pupil-distance? Need more thorough review if it is good for programmers. Thank you!
There’s been a ton of videos of people tearing it down , my video was to answer all the negatives I saw. Does it turn on? Does it overheat ? Is it really 6Dof? Can it run longer than an hour? Is there a market for this outside of the XR bubble ? That’s what we talked about in this video . Full review will come when it ships and ready for the general public
This has been on my radar for a while. And I have not preordered yet, I fully intend to get one. This looks to do everything I hoped to do with my Nreal glasses, and then some. Can't wait to see more news as it drops. Are they still on track for shipping soon?

Also just sharing f4om my experience i used to have black spots in my cheeks and they were liver spots so for me it came from a fatty liver and my gall bladder had too much. I ended up getting gallbladder removed and had to take milk thistle for liver and diet down 200lbs and no more black spots on cheeks.
What do you mean it's not good for gaming? If you can launch a window and display at least at 1440p, then why can't you use it for pc gaming? Is it the refresh rate that's an issue? But I thought XR refresh rate isn't the same as regular monitors.
VR gaming it's not going to be any good for out of the box. No controllers, no support through SteamVR or ALVR or anything of the sort. You can use it for PC gaming sure but Immersed isn't optimized for gaming. It's not about pushing the most pixels with the lowest latency it's about giving a good productivity experience. If you're a casual gamer sure but you'd never use a headset like this for any high level application.
@@FalconMan-hm2ds Oh I don't care about any of that. I just want a monitor that I can adjust size and play Escape from Tarkov when I want. And then run multiple windows for productivity.
@olternaut Visor would do that fine sure. if you haven't already preordered one though you'd probably not be getting one until at least late summer/early fall. It's been in preorder since September 2023 and a lot of us have been waiting since. The quest 3 is a good quick budget option. It works the same way as visor will if you install the immersed app. It's got 2.5k displays and provides enough clarity to work comfortably in VR. if you don't want to wait you can always get one and see how the experience is.
@ No, in my opinion that would be a waste of money if I can get 4k displays with the Visor. If I have to wait then that's fine. I want to see final reviews of the shipped units anyways. And even then the smart move is to wait for at least one revision afterwards.
@@olternautI wouldn’t wait for this scammer company release at all. Also 4k panels with small FoV is not comfortable actually, for work I prefer higher horizontal FoV than 90-100

It would be awesome. I can’t imagine wearing one of those big VR headsets for hours on end while working each day. The Visor could be the answer to my prayers. Fingers crossed… 🤞🏽
So glad we finally got a look at a functional device! And very glad Imersed brought in someone I respect and rust will provide honest feedback. Looking forward to my Founders order SOON! AND if they end up moving to Android XR that will truly open up the device to multiple uses.

Unfortunately, no one else has made a video, and Visor hasn’t mentioned anyone but you yet. I’ve been crossing my fingers waiting nearly 10 months for 3rd-party influencers like you to put their reputations on the line giving the Visor a thumbs up like you seem to be doing here.
Any idea what the display tech involved here is? Did you see a miniature version of the display as you were putting them on, or did it seem that the image just sort of rendered on your vision?
@Jdb63 That answers the question. It's a microled display. I am always on the lookout for a virtual retinal display, which has no intermediary image. Instead, it rasterizes the image directly onto the user's retinas.
@@amjiva VRD is a great idea- I think a company shipped some early media glasses that used Texas instruments micro DLP to project into the eyes. It lacks the field of view most people want in VR- but can make the headset much slimmer and lighter. Don't think its available anymore though. The Visor uses micro oled displays with pancake lenses, so more field of view but more lens glare than VRD would have
I've been working in immersed since 2020 and can easily sit in there for 7 hours a day! I use a quest with a battery that allows me to stay wireless for 7.5hrs a day before needing a charge.... anyway that said... i can't wait for visor to drop
I’m in the same boat. With the quest 3 I’ve been able to work daily in immersed, and really love it. I’m hoping the visor allows me to work longer and better in hotels, coffee shops, and maybe the Appalachian Trail lol.
Those of US who used to work in a Quest 2 are certainly willing to tolerate a lot of pain to use Immersed 😆, the Q3 is already leaps and bounds better, but i also can’t wait for my Visor, it’ll be a whole new level again.

There aren't many folks in retirement homes exploring the world through XR - although it is almost the perfect use case for people who have decreased mobility, have time/money, and wish to explore. 💯💯💯! My mom is 70 and she loves her quest 3⚡️🎊 And yes Vr is for all ages, I was more surprised by the more corporate generation of folks who was ready to convert from monitors to XR headsets 🎉 ⚡️
Does this work for people that wear prescription glasses? I can't just use it out of the box. Lots of us need glasses/contact lenses. Are we out of luck?
This is answered in the FAQ on the site. "Before production, we'll invite you to order lens inserts for your prescription. To achieve a sleek fit, glasses cannot fit under Visor. Purchasing instructions for corrective lens inserts will be provided when we are ready to collect your shipping & taxes fees." All/99% of VR headsets come with something like this for corrective vision. Please ignore the buffoon below. He doesn't seem to understand that he hasn't been asked about corrective lenses because his order isn't in the initial shipment.
According to the Visor FAQ, before a unit ships, they will give instructions on how to purchased lens inserts. My unit has been on pre-order for about a year and so far they’ve only asked me about my IPD (distance between pupils). The Founders edition is supposed to ship now…in January, but I’ve received no communication about prescription lens inserts.

If only I could click a button to buy it and having at home in a few days I would have purchased a lot of times since it was announced but… that was a long time ago and they haven't even sent the first batch to the first customers so… I think it will be a long wait until this thing will be available for regular people and there's a lot of competition incoming that will sure be available to buy in a click.

Thank you. I was waiting on a first impressions preview that was made after the fixes to the firmware that plagued team at the demo event. It's frustrating that the fixes needed to the product has delayed the full launch. Now Immersed is facing multiple competitors that are launching this year.
So FalconMan in this comments section his asserting that you’re affiliated with one of Immersed’s partners which is why you were the only tech channel allowed to work with the Visor. So….which partner is it? Unless FalconMan was just blowing his usual hot air… I tried posting this in the thread where we were discussing matters of trust regarding YT channels, but the comment keeps disappearing…
I find it hard to support this company after all the controversy surrounding them, the botched launch event, deceptive marketing around the size of the device, numerous cases of users being banned from their subreddit and discord for constructive criticism, their failed NFT project, and failed attempt to list at $150 million on the NASDAQ via a shady shell company.
Well, I have found much of that negative press was unfounded, not understanding the struggles of production, just seeking clicks, oblivious to how marketing works and unjustly critical based more on expectations than actual false marketing but maybe you haven’t had the pain of supporting less reputable Chinese based companies that actually do the false advertising you’re accusing immersed of. I was also turned off of many of those clickbait vr reviewers when after trashing immersed, they cream themselves over meta tech demos that plainly say they aren’t coming to market anytime in the next few years. I remain cautiously optimistic.
Their "failed" NFT project made $1M in a week, and they refunded 100% of it when crypto crashed in May 2022. That's honesty. Immersed did right by us. I invested in Immersed in 2020 when they were only worth $10M, and their "failed attempt to go public at $150M" was actually at $400M, and Renji pulling out of the deal to protect us investors from pump & dump hedge funds. Get your facts straight, or go find a hobby outside of VRChat in your mom's basement.

Throughout all their marketing they used a prop model that was less than half the thickness of the actual device, and let people preorder based on images of that prop model. They then said that "some changes needed to be made" and displayed said prop model next to a far larger device that was the actual thing.
It’s still canned and not independent review-when it’s in their environment and you cannot confirm if the visor is running the processing within the unit verses from the attached laptop. I also am waiting to hear why they didn’t attend CES like all of their competitors and suppliers- that should have been the redemption from the failed Sept launch.
They've already answered every question about CES in the discord multiple times. If you're not in there you don't actually care about why they didn't attend you're just looking for more nonsensical things to bash them for.

I actually did 😆… the light from the actually visor allowed me to see their eyes . I wasn’t in the headset the whole time so I got to walk around and talk with others who were using it . I couldn’t show that in the footage because NDA

Disappointing but fingers crossed. Immersed website says Founders Ed is supposed to ship now…in January so I was obviously really hoping the Visor would be in my hands to use by now. But I would have been satisfied by a full critique in your own studio. We’ll see what happens in the next couple of weeks…
agreed but the 8 ball on my desk, says outlook not good, 2 weeks to ship all of the founder edition purchased plus give us the link to buy the prescription inserts, don't think January is happening

They never said they'd ship all the FE orders in January. The official statement was that initial FE orders will start and January in small batches, with production scaling up over the following couple months
@@Jdb63 this is a true statement, but they did say, or i have emails from support that they will keep us updated via their website on it and the last post was 10/1/2024, so a communication update on status to the world to say, were starting shipments of pre-orders as promised would be nice, what they are doing is tons of advertisement like this video but no communication and if you email support, no response, I have sent in several emails with no response, the last response i got last year was just to watch that post about shipping for updates, but as mentioned nothing since 10/1/2024 so anything to just let us know they are on schedule to start would be nice, communication for a new provider of a product is key, advertisement to see what it looks like is nice and all but does nothing to promote the company supporting those who have already purchased but shows where they will be in the future for lack thereof for communication, it's basically a blackout on their part, are they on schedule or not, this video is an opinion based on use in a coffee shop with no visual as to what he is looking at, he could easily take his phone and place the camera into the glasses and show the 4k clarity, the developer did on a video, he literally took his phone and put it into the glasses to show how clearly it was working, this video is just fluff at the moment and really answers nothing we do not already know

No big reviewers are getting one until the regular 4K models launch. All the progress Immersed shows already gets laughed at by ignorant fools and the last thing anyone needs is some half assed reviewer poking holes in what is essentially a beta unit with some disclaimer that lasts all of 2 seconds indicating that this is a beta unit which nobody will read. Honestly thank God for that.

Coming on the heels of the September demo event where nobody got an actual demo except for trying on dummy units, this video looks fishy. This guy has 500+ videos and yet only 7k subscribers. Not exactly the source I can believe to be gushing about Visor with no negatives. Get Linus Tech Tips or Electroboom to review, please.
They've already explained in the Discord why this person was chosen. Neither Electroboom (who isn't even a virtual reality reviewer) nor Linus are eligible as far as partners are concerned at this point in time and frankly if the only reason you trust a product is because some UA-camr tells you it's good you're a hopeless sheep.

Do you people actually like read the store pages or just parrot what people tell you? The subscription is NOT required under ANY circumstances. You can buy the device outright at full price and be done. You NEVER need to pay another cent, you don't have to get the membership. Yes you'll lose Visor Plus Membership features as described on the store page but that's it. If you go the membership route for the cheaper up front cost then yes you need to pay it for a year. The device costs well more than $500 to manufacture. It's a payment plan for the extra cost. After 1 year just don't renew it. It's your device.
It’s not subscription-based. You can subscribe to some extra features that have nothing to do with the Visor’s functionality and the subscription will save you some on the cost of the unit but it’s entirely unnecessary.

What do you mean it's not good for gaming? If you can launch a window and display at least at 1440p, then why can't you use it for pc gaming? Is it the refresh rate that's an issue? But I thought XR refresh rate isn't the same as regular monitors.
VR gaming it's not going to be any good for out of the box. No controllers, no support through SteamVR or ALVR or anything of the sort.
You can use it for PC gaming sure but Immersed isn't optimized for gaming. It's not about pushing the most pixels with the lowest latency it's about giving a good productivity experience. If you're a casual gamer sure but you'd never use a headset like this for any high level application.

@olternaut Visor would do that fine sure. if you haven't already preordered one though you'd probably not be getting one until at least late summer/early fall. It's been in preorder since September 2023 and a lot of us have been waiting since.
The quest 3 is a good quick budget option. It works the same way as visor will if you install the immersed app. It's got 2.5k displays and provides enough clarity to work comfortably in VR. if you don't want to wait you can always get one and see how the experience is.
@ No, in my opinion that would be a waste of money if I can get 4k displays with the Visor. If I have to wait then that's fine. I want to see final reviews of the shipped units anyways. And even then the smart move is to wait for at least one revision afterwards.

Any idea what the display tech involved here is? Did you see a miniature version of the display as you were putting them on, or did it seem that the image just sort of rendered on your vision?

They have 4k microled panels very similar to what's on the Apple Vision Pro
@Jdb63 That answers the question. It's a microled display. I am always on the lookout for a virtual retinal display, which has no intermediary image. Instead, it rasterizes the image directly onto the user's retinas.
@@amjiva VRD is a great idea- I think a company shipped some early media glasses that used Texas instruments micro DLP to project into the eyes. It lacks the field of view most people want in VR- but can make the headset much slimmer and lighter. Don't think its available anymore though. The Visor uses micro oled displays with pancake lenses, so more field of view but more lens glare than VRD would have
Is the compute actually on the headset? Because it looks like there is a wire.
It does run an OS with the immerse app loading on however you connect to an external computer or laptop to use multiple screens wirelessly ⚡️💪🏾
Yes it does. The wire runs to a battery pack to help offload weight from the headset itself
I've been working in immersed since 2020 and can easily sit in there for 7 hours a day! I use a quest with a battery that allows me to stay wireless for 7.5hrs a day before needing a charge.... anyway that said... i can't wait for visor to drop
I’m in the same boat. With the quest 3 I’ve been able to work daily in immersed, and really love it. I’m hoping the visor allows me to work longer and better in hotels, coffee shops, and maybe the Appalachian Trail lol.
Those of US who used to work in a Quest 2 are certainly willing to tolerate a lot of pain to use Immersed 😆, the Q3 is already leaps and bounds better, but i also can’t wait for my Visor, it’ll be a whole new level again.
BTW what battery are you using for 7.5 hours a day I want it lol.
Yeah same, I spend about 8 hours a day M-F in Immersed in a Q3. Can’t wait to have a lighter solution with better res.

Does this work for people that wear prescription glasses? I can't just use it out of the box. Lots of us need glasses/contact lenses. Are we out of luck?
This is answered in the FAQ on the site.
"Before production, we'll invite you to order lens inserts for your prescription. To achieve a sleek fit, glasses cannot fit under Visor. Purchasing instructions for corrective lens inserts will be provided when we are ready to collect your shipping & taxes fees."
All/99% of VR headsets come with something like this for corrective vision.

According to the Visor FAQ, before a unit ships, they will give instructions on how to purchased lens inserts. My unit has been on pre-order for about a year and so far they’ve only asked me about my IPD (distance between pupils). The Founders edition is supposed to ship now…in January, but I’ve received no communication about prescription lens inserts.

Thank you. I was waiting on a first impressions preview that was made after the fixes to the firmware that plagued team at the demo event. It's frustrating that the fixes needed to the product has delayed the full launch. Now Immersed is facing multiple competitors that are launching this year.

I find it hard to support this company after all the controversy surrounding them, the botched launch event, deceptive marketing around the size of the device, numerous cases of users being banned from their subreddit and discord for constructive criticism, their failed NFT project, and failed attempt to list at $150 million on the NASDAQ via a shady shell company.
Well, I have found much of that negative press was unfounded, not understanding the struggles of production, just seeking clicks, oblivious to how marketing works and unjustly critical based more on expectations than actual false marketing but maybe you haven’t had the pain of supporting less reputable Chinese based companies that actually do the false advertising you’re accusing immersed of. I was also turned off of many of those clickbait vr reviewers when after trashing immersed, they cream themselves over meta tech demos that plainly say they aren’t coming to market anytime in the next few years.
I remain cautiously optimistic.
Their "failed" NFT project made $1M in a week, and they refunded 100% of it when crypto crashed in May 2022. That's honesty. Immersed did right by us. I invested in Immersed in 2020 when they were only worth $10M, and their "failed attempt to go public at $150M" was actually at $400M, and Renji pulling out of the deal to protect us investors from pump & dump hedge funds. Get your facts straight, or go find a hobby outside of VRChat in your mom's basement.
They've always been upfront about the size. Nothing has changed. You can see how small they look on a bigger head.

Throughout all their marketing they used a prop model that was less than half the thickness of the actual device, and let people preorder based on images of that prop model. They then said that "some changes needed to be made" and displayed said prop model next to a far larger device that was the actual thing.
It’s still canned and not independent review-when it’s in their environment and you cannot confirm if the visor is running the processing within the unit verses from the attached laptop. I also am waiting to hear why they didn’t attend CES like all of their competitors and suppliers- that should have been the redemption from the failed Sept launch.
They've already answered every question about CES in the discord multiple times. If you're not in there you don't actually care about why they didn't attend you're just looking for more nonsensical things to bash them for.

I ordered in SEPTEMBER 2023. I don't feel the need to bash them over meaningless things like CES because they've been VERY transparent in their decisions and updating us on things they're allowed to.
They've been told straight up by partners to stop sharing so many things because when they do they get people like you bashing them on their progress. You're sharing the wrong progress points, you're not sharing it right and not often enough, you didn't share X, why weren't you at CES for the 50th time?

They never said they'd ship all the FE orders in January. The official statement was that initial FE orders will start and January in small batches, with production scaling up over the following couple months
@@Jdb63 this is a true statement, but they did say, or i have emails from support that they will keep us updated via their website on it and the last post was 10/1/2024, so a communication update on status to the world to say, were starting shipments of pre-orders as promised would be nice, what they are doing is tons of advertisement like this video but no communication and if you email support, no response, I have sent in several emails with no response, the last response i got last year was just to watch that post about shipping for updates, but as mentioned nothing since 10/1/2024 so anything to just let us know they are on schedule to start would be nice, communication for a new provider of a product is key, advertisement to see what it looks like is nice and all but does nothing to promote the company supporting those who have already purchased but shows where they will be in the future for lack thereof for communication, it's basically a blackout on their part, are they on schedule or not, this video is an opinion based on use in a coffee shop with no visual as to what he is looking at, he could easily take his phone and place the camera into the glasses and show the 4k clarity, the developer did on a video, he literally took his phone and put it into the glasses to show how clearly it was working, this video is just fluff at the moment and really answers nothing we do not already know

Not exactly the source I can believe to be gushing about Visor with no negatives. Get Linus Tech Tips or Electroboom to review, please.
They've already explained in the Discord why this person was chosen. Neither Electroboom (who isn't even a virtual reality reviewer) nor Linus are eligible as far as partners are concerned at this point in time and frankly if the only reason you trust a product is because some UA-camr tells you it's good you're a hopeless sheep.

The subscription is NOT required under ANY circumstances. You can buy the device outright at full price and be done. You NEVER need to pay another cent, you don't have to get the membership. Yes you'll lose Visor Plus Membership features as described on the store page but that's it.
If you go the membership route for the cheaper up front cost then yes you need to pay it for a year. The device costs well more than $500 to manufacture. It's a payment plan for the extra cost.
After 1 year just don't renew it. It's your device.
It’s not subscription-based. You can subscribe to some extra features that have nothing to do with the Visor’s functionality and the subscription will save you some on the cost of the unit but it’s entirely unnecessary.
