- Former AFC Bournemouth Chairman Eddie Mitchell joined Craig Beazley to tell us his story from growing up supporting the Cherries to becoming the owner after some of the clubs darkest days and going from Minus 17 to the Championship. Find out:
🍒 Eddie's earliest memories of supporting AFC Bournemouth.
🍒 Taking over at the club after financial turmoil threatened to put the club out of business and what he had to do first.
🍒 Working with Eddie Howe and subsequently hiring Lee Bradbury, Paul Groves before bringing Eddie back from Burnley.
🍒 His encounters in the Changing Rooms at Half Time.
🍒 Brett Pitman leaving to go to Bristol City - did we have to sell at that time?
🍒 His relationship with other members of the football club's board...
🍒 Maxim Denim and how they eventually worked together at the club.
🍒 His relationship with the clubs fans - does he feel appreciated for what he did during his 4 year spell?
🍒 What he does now and his successes as a businessman.
🍒 And lots lots more...

Great interview. Looking forward to listening to many more.
Cheers mate!
Thanks great interview. Yes definitely worried about the club not investing in the stadium. When Mitchell was there he always was getting things done, car park, club shop, scoreboard etc we also had regular fans forum with manager and chairman taking questions from fans. Max has put an end to all that, and the communication with the fans is now terrible.
Thanks Jim for checking out the video. Mitchell has always been a pleasure to talk to and doesn't get credit for the great work he has done for the club. Without him, we would have not had the success we have had now
Amazing Craig 👏 told everyone about our ground situation finally hit home now big reality check for our fans in terms of these current owners they are making huge sums of money and taking it out of our great club so sad. If people think max is losing money at this club or wants to buy the stadium back for us there living on Mars. Brilliant interview well done . That Eddie Mitchell I give credit to says it how it is and wanted to give us a fantastic stadium. Our current owners are not interested something which was so glaringly obviously it hurts🍒✌⚽️👍
Thanks David appreciate the great comments mate! Thank you for checking out the video and pleased you enjoyed it 🍒🍒🍒
May I add to this sentiment. Eddie was a visionary and got dumped on from a great height. It annoys me when fans at matches say we don't need a bigger stadium. Of course we do. It increases revenue so we can compete with the big boys. Plus there's a reason we have the priority point scheme, it's because there's too much demand for tickets. I was told that if every fan with a supporter number got in we would need a 25000 capacity stadium.
@@frankmoles1555 25,000 capacity would be a real good shout. If we did get to that level, then reduced ticket prices a bit the club would still make plenty of money. It would be the initial outlay which would be the problem but it's best doing this whilst in the Premier League. Many of these new stadiums can be extended as well easily by dumping another tier on top. Although I'd love it if we could do this with the existing Dean Court, it's our home, a fortress and I'm sure many sides in shiny large stadiums find our ground intimidating. That's what we need to do at Dean Court, make tons of noise and make it an awkward place to come
Please get eddie mitchell back again.loved every minute.paul from oz
Thanks Paul pleased you enjoyed it. For all the criticism he gets from some AFCB fans, Eddie put us in a good place.
Brilliant mate.well done.paul from oz.very honest inter view.
great interview with an interesting character! One correction, sport6 were owners in minus 17 season, Savvi always claimed credit for appointing Eddie.
Thanks John
