It's hard and takes strength to admit when you are wrong neither of which southgate has
You won the game . Stop complaing . A manager is not some magic wizard that controls how players play on the pitch . Confidence and nerves are also a thing , and criticism does nothing but drag the teams morale down . Be happy with your win and praise your team. It's very few nations that get into the quarter finals of a euro!

He’s not acknowledging his pitfalls and mistakes. He’s taking no responsibility for the performance again.
He won't take responsibility. He's lucky to even be in the position he's in, getting paid millions to set England up to deliver that kind of performance. Eventually it will come to an end and he won't be on a salary of 5 million, but it's in his interest not to take any blame or indicate that he just might have had a hand in England's shambolic performance.

I heard on the commentary that between 1966-2016 England have won 6 knockout games....in 50 years. Southgate has won that many since 2018. Our football isn't electric, but he does get results. This is not the first time we've had good players. And we've had 'better' managers and flopped

Kobbie Mainoo was outstanding, I've hammered eze for his poor performance when he came on against denmark but today he did really well, dropped to left back at times, done well. Palmer needs to start over foden in the next game.
Anybody that comes on the middle of the pitch at 85 minutes will do well because they have legs.

The rest of the time it’s a snore fest of them passing back to Pickford or a complete mess. And then things like Bellingham saying they played well and referring to valid criticism as “rubbish” plus Southgate refusing to change lineup or tactics or admitting mistakes comes across as arrogance and delusion. He's talking as though the team has technical shortcomings, when in fact its about HIS tactical acumen (missing) and repeating the same mistakes over and over (a form of madness). However, I also think the team lack urgency, except when they are on the brink - which is usually too late. A very lucky man.
Guys can we just remember that england won. How many times have we seen england "play well" and lost. 96, 98 etc etc. As a Liverpool fan we have played awfully and still won. This isn't gymnastics, you don't get points you just win or lose. With football becoming so uniform the blue print of defending and attacking is there for all to see. Games are tighter now. We don't see 4-0 or even 3-0 that often. Like him or not Southgate has helped us defeat so many past demons. Beating Germany in a major tournament, getting to a final, winning on penalties, winning in extra time. The man has won more knockout games than nearly any other england manager. We give him stick, bellingham goes from hero to zero in a matter of 2 games. This isn't the way other countries support their teams. We should back our lads and not be so quick to complain.
Actually other countries media and fans are just as critical of their teams when they play far below the standard that they’re capable of.
